Jurnal Manajemen dan Organisasi didedikasikan untuk menumbuhkan kreasi pertukaran ide antara akademisi, kalangan industri atau bisnis praktis, dan institusi pemerintah dalam bidang manajemen dan organisasi. Jurnal ini diterbitkan tiga kali dalam setahun, yaitu bulan April, Agustus, dan Desember. Artikel yang dimuat dalam jurnal ini mengedepankan analisis objektif terhadap kasus manajemen dan organisasi dalam perspektif akademik berupa hasil penelitian di bidang manajemen dan organisasi dalam perpektif akademik berupa hasil penelitian di bidang manajemen dan review terhadap konsep manajemen baru maupun implementasi konsep manajemen dengan studi literatur. Redaksi menerima naskah dari berbagai pihak untuk dimuat pada jurnal ini. Naskah yang masuk harus mengikuti Format Penulisan Naskah Jurnal Manajemen dan organisasi.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of company size, muslims on board, women on board, company age, foreign ownership, Islamic securities, profitability, liquidity, leverage against Islamic Social Report disclosures of listed Consumer Goods Industries in Indonesia Sharia Stock Index (ISSI) in 2011-2017. The sample consists of 23 listed Consumer Goods Industries in Indonesia Sharia Index (ISSI) in 2011-2017. Annual reports were analyzed by content analysis method and Panel Data Regression Analysis Model was used to test hypotheses. The analysis shows that company's size, company's age, profitability have a significant positive effect on disclosure of the Islamic Social Report (ISR) in Consumer Goods Industries. Meanwhile, muslims on board, women on board, foreign ownership, Islamic securities, liquidity, leverage have no significant effect towards the disclosure of Islamic Social Report on Consumer Goods Industries.

Abstract

The growth of the national aviation industry has been quite rapidly in last view times. Along with this condition, there are only few of airline companies are able to survive, which are supported by strong financial conditions and good corporate management. PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk a flag carrier that is able to maintains its existence until now. This study aims to analyze the financial performance of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk for the period of 2013-2017 using financial ratio analysis based on minister of BUMN decree number: KEP-100 / MBU / 2002, trend analysis and analysis of the potential bankruptcy of the Altman’s Z-Score model. The data analysis method used in this study was descriptive quantitative. Data processing was performed using Microsoft Excel 2013 and Minitab 17 software. The results of the study indicate financial performance of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk for the period 2013-2017 tends to decrease and the value of Z-Score obtained has great potential for bankruptcy.

Abstract

Escalation of commitment behavior in investment decision making is an ineffective action by persisting on a project that indicates failure. This study aims to examine whether or not an adverse selection and negative framing effect on the tendency of escalation of commitment. This experimental research uses a 2 x 2 factorial design with an instruments of "PT Kue Hebat" case. Participants were Bachelor Degree of Management students who enrolled in Financial Management subject, as substitute for managers whom are chosen by random assignment technique as much as 50 participants. This study uses two ways ANOVA analysis techniques. The results of the study prove that the project manager will show a tendency to escalate commitment by continuing unfavorable projects in adverse selection conditions or in negative framing conditions.

Abstract

The print media industry dealing with large business competition due to the rise of online media. Online media provides convenience to access information. Print media utilizes online media as an information provider and a media promotion. Femina is one of the Indonesia print media merging between print and online media. Femina do marketing communication, one of them is event. This study aims to (1) identify the Femina event participants, (2) analyze the participant’s perceptions regarding the conduct of Femina’s event, and (3) analyze the effect of the event to the brand image of Femina Magazine. Sampling was employed by quota sampling. Respondents were 41 people which are collected when the event was performed: Healthy Action with Mama Lime and Femina, and Enchaunter L'amour Extraordinare. Data processing and analysis using Structural Equation Models (SEM) with software SmartPLS 2.0. The results showed that the majority of respondents’ characteristics in accordance with Femina reader segmentation and perception of the participants’ event are good. The uniqueness, atmosphere and service of the event are significant to the brand image of Femina Magazine.

Abstract

Trend of stock investment in Sharia Stock Market has been rising from 2015-2017. This trend must be followed by a comprehensive understanding of investors in choosing a profitable stock combination by considering a measurable risk and rates of return. This research aims to identify optimal sharia portfolio theory of Markowitz Model with the lowest preference risk, Markowitz Model with optimal sharpe ratio, and Single Index Model. The analysis then aims to compare expected return and portfolio risk levels formed from the three models, and to provide optimal portfolio recommendations to investors that can be used as consideration of decision making in investing in sharia Jakarta Islamic Index. This research uses reports of daily stock price, dividend, IHSG, and sukuk. The eighteen object in this research were obtained from a purposive sampling method. Based on the calculation, optimal portfolio was obtained using Markowitz model with optimal Sharpe ratio which resulted in the best combination of stock with expected rate of return and risk level of 33,74 percent and 22 percent in a year.

Abstract

PT Perkebunan Nusantara VIII is a company which operate in the field of agribusiness and agro industry. Based on the result of employee satisfaction and engagement survey report, it was found that employee satisfaction with salaries and benefits was in the unsatisfied category. Thus, this study aims to design a job evaluation based on eckenrode system to create a compensation model that could support to increase internal equity in the company. Compensation is one of the motivations for employees to work. This is might help the company to improve overall company’s performance. Data analysis method used in this study is eckenrode system method. The result of the study was obtained 10 factors that were made as factors for job evaluation and used as the basis for providing compensation, based on the result the existing occupational clusters, it is appropriate if it is made into three grades with the highest point in head of the division and the lowest point in the position of staff. The design of job evaluation based on eckenrode system can be used to make a new compensation model. The design can be used to calculate job points in other divisions and job points that have been obtained can be used to calculate the amount of the new salary at the company.

Abstract

Commuter line is the most commonly used transportation especially in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek). This study aims to analyze service quality that affecting the Commuter Vending Machine (C-VIM) user’s satisfaction in Bogor Station and to explain the most significant service quality that affecting C-VIM user’s satisfaction. The primary data is earned by using questionaires. The secondary data are in the form of literature and official publications of PT KAI Commuter Indonesia (PT KCI). The method to determine the respondent is done by using purposive sampling with sample of 100 respondents that had already used C-VIM. The result are then analyzed by multiple linear regression. The result showed that variables such as tangibles, responsiveness, realibility, emphaty and assurance simultaneously affect C-VIM user’s satisfaction. Partially responsiveness and realibility have significant and positive effect on C-VIM user’s satisfaction. Hence, the increase of quality in responsiveness and realibility affect more significant towards C-VIM’s user satisfaction compared to the increase of quality in tangibles, emphaty and assurance.

Abstract

Risk averse behavior are psychological barriers for investor to join the capital market. Risk averse behavior will restrict the investor financial decision, so it needs to be anticipated through improving financial literacy. Low financial literacy increases the evaluation frequency, hence the risk averse behavior will increased and reduce the return. This problem can be prevented by increasing financial literacy so that the investor will behave as a risk seeker and increase the return. This paper aims to examine factors that are affected the investor returns. Multiple linear regression analyses using SPSS 20 was utilized to see the effect of financial literacy, evaluation frequency, maxhold, investment duration, technical analysis, and fundamental analysis against return increasing. The results showed that financial literacy and investment durations were positively significant towards investor returns, the use of technical analysis negatively significant towards investor returns, while insufficient evidence to Indicates that the frequency of evaluation, max hold, and the use of fundamental analysis affects investors returns at a 90 percent confidence level.

Abstract

Brewed tea is the most consumed beverage after water. The tea commodity is divided into four: bulk green tea, retailed green tea, bulk black tea, and retailed black tea. Eventhough bulk black tea has the lowest price average, it has the highest demand and import value growth each year. Rusia is not only the main export destination country for Indonesian bulk black tea, but also the largest bulk black tea importer in the world. The purpose of this research are to analyze the position of Indonesian bulk black tea export competitiveness in the global market and to find the factors that significantly affect Indonesian bulk black tea export in Russian market. The result of CMSA shows that Indonesia's competitiveness ranks low among other exporter countries and has a negative growth trend. According to multiple linear regression analysis, the most significantly affecting factor is price with a negative relation. Which means when price grows, Indonesia's competitiveness decline.

Abstract

The Quality human resources are needed in global economic competition. Spirituality in work becomes a solution developed by companies, because it can be created a conducive environment for employees to work as good as possible. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of work spirituality on employee engagement through job satisfaction in Small and Medium Enterprises cluster of food and beverages in the city of Bogor. This research used Structural Equation Modeling PLS for data analysis. Samples are SMEs that have at least 5 employees and have been registered in the Department of Industry and Trade (Disperindag) and the Department of Cooperatives and SMEs Bogor City. So that 25 SMEs are eligible, consisting of 65 people consisting of employees and owners of SMEs. Sampling method using purposive sampling. The results showed that the spirituality of work has a positive effect directly on employee engagement and indirectly influence through job satisfaction on employee engagement to the organization. Meanwhile, job satisfaction has a direct positive effect on employees' engagement to the organization. Therefore, increased employee engagement to SMEs is suggested through several supporting activities such as: communicating and facilitating the need for spirituality in the workplace.
