Abstract

Hoaxes related to Covid-19 continue to increase on social media in Indonesia. As one of the largest internet users in Indonesia, hoax production is predicted to continue to occur. This research wants to map the hoax of Covid-19 news, especially related to vaccine news in Indonesia. Data were obtained from the hoax buster page of the Committee for Handling Covid-19 and Aptika Kominfo from January 18 to May 28, 2021, as many as 36 hoaxes. This research is important to be a guide to understanding hoaxes so that anti-hoax activists can formulate effective hoax prevention strategies. The results of this study found that most of the hoaxes were related to misleading information about the impact of vaccines, found as many as 12 news stories spread through social media on Facebook, more specifically spreading distrust of the government. Other hoax themes are partly targeting some individuals who deliberately use the name of a doctor to provide misleading information. The covid-19 hoax that spreads a lot has a pattern of attach, sort, straighten, resettle, and break. That is, hoax makers make use of images or text from real events and then changed them according to certain intentions and purposes.

Abstract

The Presence of Law no. 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Product Assurance mandated by Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Produk Halal (BPJPH) has an impact on changing the halal logo in Indonesia. Now the Indonesian halal logo consists of a logogram and logotype. Using semiotic analysis from Roland Barthes, researchers try to examine the signs, connotations, and myths on the Indonesian halal logo. The use of kufi calligraphy in logotypes is inseparable from its history, that kufi khat has been used since the time of Rasulullah SAW. Furthermore, in its application, logogram and logotype cannot be separated. The researcher analyzed the use of white as the background in the logo, representing that BPJPH wants to show a new beginning based on the values of purity, sincerity, simplicity, and independence. The purple color in the logogram and logotype is believed to represent faith, piety, and high imagination. Historically, purple has represented courage. Apart from purple, this logo also has turquoise as its secondary color. Toska is considered to represent wisdom, calm, and stability.

Abstract

The development of information technology brings a change in society. The presence of gadgets, especially in the form of smartphones, has contributed a lot in everyday life, as a medium for seeking information, interacting, getting entertainment, and even doing business activities are also included in it. This journal aims to find out how the influence of gadgets on adolescent behavior in the Al-Hidayah dorm environment. This research is based on changes in adolescent behavior due to excessive use of gadgets. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The data was obtained through observing several residents of the Al-Hidayah dorm who used gadgets excessively. Data analysis was carried out from the beginning of this assignment until the assignment was collected.

Abstract

Many teenagers suffer losses because they are reluctant to read the Quran and are more immersed in the world. This research was carried out to determine the delivery of Islamic da’wah through Instagram reels on the @adihidayatofficial account regarding teenagers' awareness of reading the Quran. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The data sources for this research are documents, video reels posted by Ustadz Adi Hidayat's Instagram account (@adihidayatofficial). Data analysis in this research is connected to relevant theories and is related to dawah media, da'wah messages, and also new media. The results of this research are that there are three pieces of evidence that Islamic da’wah through Instagram reels on the @adihidayatofficial account are able to provide awareness to teenagers in reading the Quran, namely the urgency of Islamic da’wah on Instagram social media, the existence of naqli and aqli arguments, and Ustadz Adi Hidayat's Instagram reels.

Abstract

ABSTRACT In the current digital era, social media platforms such as YouTube have become a very effective medium for disseminating information and da'wah. This research analyzes the application of the principles of qaulan baligha communication by Ustadz Felix Siauw in content published on his YouTube channel. Qaulan Baligha is one of the principles of communication in Islam which has four signs: words that touch the heart, contain wisdom, fluency in speaking and the choice of words that are easy to understand which emphasizes clarity and accuracy. The aim of this research is to determine the application of Qaulan Baligha communication principles carried out by Ustadz Felix Siauw and to provide knowledge that Islamic communication principles can be applied efficiently and the importance of clear and appropriate communication in conveying da'wah messages through digital media. This research uses a qualitative approach, descriptive content analysis method. Data collection was carried out by means of non-interactive participant observation, coding and documentation. Then the data was analyzed using data reduction techniques, data presentation and drawing conclusions for the entire research carried out. The subjects in this research were preaching videos uploaded on Ustadz Felix Siauw's YouTube channel with the titles "How to be enthusiastic about life", "Tips & Tricks on how to stay istiqomah" and "Sinful but successful". The results of the analysis show that Ustadz Felix Siauw consistently applies Qaulan Baligha principles in various aspects of his communication and preaching delivered in language that is straightforward, precise and easy to understand and is able to reach audiences from various backgrounds. Abstract

Three factors contribute to male students' decreased interest in studying Hadith at Pesantren Al Kautsar Al Akbar: the first is the lack of inventiveness on the part of ustadz in promoting learning, the harsh sanctions that are applied, and the dull Pesantren curriculum. Among the Ustad that instruct in the Al Kautsar Al Akbar Islamic Boarding School in Medan is Ustad Ali Sati. Pondok Pesantren Al Kautsar Al Akbar was founded in 1985 and is situated at 264 Jalan Pelajar Timur in Medan, North Sumatra. In this study, a qualitative, descriptive strategy was employed. Techniques for gathering data include recordkeeping, interviewing, and observation. Based on the study's findings, the researcher spoke with Ustadz Ali Sati, who shared information about persuasive communication techniques to boost male students' interest in studying hadith science at Al Kautsar Al Akbar Islamic Boarding School in Medan. The researcher also obtained the information required by the researchers, and the study's findings can be backed up by written data. In this discussion, the researcher provides an overview based on the research findings. In the implementation of Ustadz Ali Sati's communication strategy in increasing the enthusiasm for learning hadith science for male students, he has three models which are able to make students enthusiastic about learning hadith science: Constructivism Model, Cognitive Model, Jigsaw Model.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to analyse the communication strategies used by the Rosé All Day brand in dealing with the boycott issue, specifically related to the controversy involving one of its founders. This research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature review to analyse effective communication strategies in managing controversial issues. The research involved collecting and analysing literature related to crisis communication strategies, public relations, and brand management. The results of this study indicate that as a local brand company in the Indonesian cosmetics industry, it faces serious challenges in managing boycott issues. Through the analysis of communication strategies, this research identified several strategies that were effective in managing the boycott issue, including: improving relationships with the public, responding quickly, establishing positive partnerships, and prioritising accurate two-way communication. In addition, this research also analyses Rosé All Day Cosmetics' brand communication strategies on social media, especially Instagram and TikTok. These strategies include the use of creative content, interaction with followers, positive campaigns and collaboration with influencers. The findings of this study provide more understanding of effective communication strategies in dealing with controversial issues for similar companies. The results may also provide valuable insights for public relations practitioners and brand managers in managing reputational crises related to sensitive issues in competitive markets. Abstract

ABSTRACT The film can be used in preaching. This research aims to analyze the preaching messages in the movie "Siksa Neraka" by Anggy Umbara using Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic approach. The research method used is qualitative. Data were analyzed through three main components: sign, object, and interpretant. The analysis results show that the film "Siksa Neraka" conveys various important preaching messages through visual symbolism and dialogue between characters. Some identified preaching messages include prohibitions against speaking harshly to parents, delaying prayers, inviting and committing sinful acts, committing adultery, cheating, gambling, slandering, and committing suicide. This film effectively conveys preaching values through the use of meaningful signs that can influence viewers to reflect on and improve their behavior. This research reveals how the film conveys moral messages and emphasizes the importance of visual media in educating and spreading religious values.   Keywords: Dakwah, Movie, Punishment, Hell

Abstract

ABSTRACT Teenagers' playtime and study time, especially students, are influenced by advances in communication technology, both positively and negatively. Students use social media to communicate with friends, share homework, play games, and/or fill their free time, to do college assignments. This study aims to examine how students of the Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Study Program at UIN Sumatera Utara use Instagram in their daily lives related to the wasteful behavior of students. The method used in the study is qualitative carried out through observation by conducting direct observations, interviews conducted through interaction, and documentation made in references from literature related to the focus of the study. The results of the study indicate that Instagram plays an important role in shaping the lifestyle of consumptive students. Students are often influenced by content that displays a luxurious lifestyle, which encourages them to shop for unnecessary items and try to display an ideal image on social media. This finding is consistent with the theory of social construction which states that social media users can create reality through interaction on the platform. This study highlights the use of Instagram social media which can influence student behavior that tends to be consumptive, although this is not entirely a problem caused by the presence of social media in the current era. Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine and determine how male and female students at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra (UINSU) behave differently in terms of how they consume and share news and information. A quantitative survey with 100 participants from 8 faculties is the methodology employed. SPSS version 25 was used to process the data, and one-way ANOVA was used for data analysis. A questionnaire intended to assess news and information consumption and dissemination was used to gather data. The one-way ANOVA analysis's value of 0.401, which is greater than 0.05, indicates that there is no discernible difference between male and female UINSU students' news and information consumption and dissemination behavior patterns.
