Abstract

PT. SF is a company engaged in the pharmaceutical industry. This company has several problems faced, one of the problems that often occurs is the high time in the machine setup process  , so that the fulfillment of production targets is disrupted. The number of types of products makes the number of model change processes which of course have different types, so that this has an impact on the amount of production produced. Therefore, this study was conducted to minimize setup time  using  the single minute exchange of dies (SMED) method. The results showed that there were  5 work stations in the packing section, where of these 5 work stations  the one with the highest setup time was the cartoning  machine workstation  with an initial setup time  of 63,84 minutes. After applying  the single minute exchange of dies (SMED) method, the setup process  can be lowered to 46,69 minutes. So it can save set-up time  by 17.15 minutes. Keywords: SMED implementation, setup time improvement, internal setup, external setup

Abstract

PT Alba Unggul Metal faced several operational problems in its production activities. In this study, the focus is on standard products owned by PT Alba Unggul Metal, especially SDG type cabinets, due to delays in delivery schedules caused by scarcity of raw materials, most are SDG type cabinets. The purpose of this study was to plan the raw material requirements for SDG type cabinets so that there is no scarcity of raw materials in the warehouse. The method used is the Economic Order Quantity method, the Period Order Quantity method and the Min-Max method. After analysis and discussion, it is known that the Economic Order Quantity method is the most optimal method compared to the Period Order Quantity method and the Min-Max method. Then the Company can better control inventory and delivery time of raw materials by using the EOQ method. As an example of the calculation for an SD SPCC plate measuring 0.7mm x 2440mm x 1220mm with an optimal order quantity of 512 pieces for one order, 157 safety stocks, reorder point when stock is 493 sheets, and order frequency 24 times a year. After implementation and data sampling for three months in April, May and June 2023 there was no shortage of raw materials which caused a delay in the delivery schedule for SDG type cabinets. Keywords : Inventory control, Economic Order Quantity, Period Order Quantity, Min-Max, Reorder Point, Safety Stock.

Abstract

PT. Prisma Engineering Unggul is an engineering company and manufacturer of engineering transportation equipment, designing and manufacturing engineering products specifically for off-road applications used in the mining, oil and gas, agroforestry and transportation sectors. Production machine layout at PT. Prisma Engineering Unggul has not followed the layout of the production area in accordance with the flow of the material handling process. So the machines are still very close together or far apart, so that a lot of materials and products are scattered about in the wrong place, causing buildup and making it difficult to walk in the production area. Objectives To find out the best spacing layouts for arranging production machines using the systematic layout planning (SLP) method and ARC (Activity Relationship Chart),ARD (Activity Relationship Diagram tools using field study methods, linear studies, brainstorming (brainstorming/feedback). Based on the method (SLP) can determine the relationship between the activities of the relationship between machines can produce machine layout to be based on production flow. For the proposed layout of the machine distances that have been made, it can be seen that the machines are neater in sequence with the flow of material. So that the activity of moving material is lower and the total time is relatively short, production results can also be placed not scattered and make it easier to walk in the production area. Keywords : SLP, ARC, ARD, Layout, Machine Distance.

Abstract

A door is a medium that is used as a way to enter or exit a room. To make a job easier, an effective and efficient tool is needed. Conventional doors usually consist of a lock housing and a lock saddle to open them. Generally , in offices, doors can be made more practical. The door will automatically open if there is a stimulus (physical energy ) that moves it. For example, when someone wants to enter the room, the door will automatically open. Doors like this can be designed using automatic controls. This automatic door system can be designed using automatic control combined with sensors and motors. In terms of input equipment, a PIR (Passive Infrared) sensor is used that can detect the presence of a human approaching the door. This PIR sensor will send a signal to the control system unit . The controller will send the processing data to the motor so that it can open the door and close automatically. Keywords: Detection, Passive Infrared Sensor , Automatic Door
