<![CDATA[Background: Myopia is a condition in which parallel rays that enter the eyeball are refracted by the refractive media in front of the retina. The inability of a person to see distant objects clearly or myopia can occur for several reasons. Objective: To know the relationship between gender and age simultaneously on the incidence of myopia at Optik One Palembang in 2021. Method: The type of research used in this study was a qualitative analysis with a Cross Sectional approach, in which the independent variable and the dependent variable were carried out at the same time. The sample of this study consisted of 124 respondents. Determination of the number of samples using the slovin formula and the sampling technique in this study was consecutive sampling. The refraction examination used a Snellen chart and trial lens and then followed by filling out the questionnaire. The hypothesis test used is chi square. Results: Gender, 87 respondents were female, there were 74 respondents (77.08) who were myopic and 13 respondents (46.42%) were not myopic, while from 37 male respondents there were 22 respondents (22.91%) who had myopia. and 15 respondents (53.57%) who were not myopic. Age was obtained from 89 respondents of risky age, there were 69 respondents (71.87%) who had myopia and 20 respondents (71.42%) who were not myopic. 27 respondents (28.12%) were myopic and 8 respondents (28.57%) were not myopic. The results of the Chi-square statistical test The relationship between gender and the incidence of myopia was found to be p value 0.000 and the relationship between age and the incidence of myopia was obtained p value 0.000.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the didactic education method by refractionist optician health workers for grade 6 students at Ciomas 01 Elementary School. The subjects of this study were 10 people, 6th-grade students, at Ciomas 01 Elementary School. The research method used was qualitative by collecting data. Through the interview process, filling out questionnaires, and observation. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the teacher's role is very dominant in the process of providing material on eye health so that students can better understand the material about eye health and the provision of material on eye health using the didactic method is considered effective to be applied to 6th-grade students at Ciomas 01 Elementary School.]]>

<![CDATA[The research objective was to determine the relationship between distance and duration of smartphone use and eye fatigue complaints among students of ARO Gapopin. The sampling technique used a simple purposive sampling method with a sample size of 116 respondents obtained through an online questionnaire on the google form. The data analysis used was in multiple regression analysis using the SPSS application. The results of this study showed that there was no influence between variable duration and distance of smartphone use on complaints of eye fatigue. With significance values of 0.996 and 0.682.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the effect of the use of soft contacts on the comfort of wearing on students of SMK Kesehatan Letris. The study was conducted using descriptive qualitative methods to determine complaints and the impact of soft contact lenses on wearing comfort. This study involved 19 respondents aged between 16 and 17 years with details of 10 respondents in the case group and 9 respondents in the control group. The results showed that 70% of users felt a sensation of dry eyes, 80% felt that their eyes felt lumpy or uncomfortable, this was related to the selection of soft contact lenses based on 80% water content. It can be concluded that soft contact lenses affect the comfort of wearing which is related to the selection of the moisture content of the contact lens material and the humidity of the room.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aimed to determine the characteristics of refractive errors that occur at the Occular optics at Tamini Square, East Jakarta. The population in this study were all glasses wearers who had refractive errors who came to Occular optics. This type of research is analytical descriptive with the sample being customers who come to Occular optics in 2020 involving 50 respondent. The process of taking data from the refraction book is grouped based on refractive errors and degrees and the data is processed using SPSS ver. 25. And the resulting magnitude of the prevalence for refractive errors of myopia is 48% (24 respondent), hypermetropia is 24% (12 respondent) and astigmatism is 28% (14 respondent) with mild, moderate and high degrees for myopia, mild degrees for hypermetropia and mild and moderate degrees for astigmatism]]>

<![CDATA[This study was aimed at describing and at assessing the implementation of hygiene and sanitation in ARO Gapopin Laboratories and Optical. The research employed qualitative method and comparative study. Data gained through observation were compared to data gained from documentary and literature study. The results indicate that the implementation of hygiene and sanitation in the laboratory and optic is good as students and lecturers always obey SOP and the wastes are managed well. Sanitation and hygiene are crucial for everyone, especially for those who work in laboratory and optical.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the relationship between the incidence of cataracts and diabetes mellitus in patients at the Tanjung Harapan Health Center, Marga Tiga District, East Lampung Regency. The population in this study were outpatients for the period January - May 2021 using a case-control design with 38 subjects divided into 19 case groups (cataract patients) and 19 control groups (patients without cataracts). History of diabetes mellitus data seen from the patient's medical record and processed using the chi square test with a significance level of p <0.05. Analysis of hypothesis testing using SPSS version 21, the results of this study the asymp sig value of 0.020, which is <0.05, which means Ho is rejected, this proves that there is a significant relationship between the incidence of cataracts and Diabetes Mellitus. This data deserve to be tested with Chi Square because there is no Expected value less than 5]]>

<![CDATA[Complaints of high myopia sufferers who use minus glasses generally are excessive glare and visual discomfort when used to see detailed objects, this can be caused by aberrations in the lens. This study aims to determine the function of colored lenses in reducing the occurrence of aberrations in myopia sufferers. This research uses descriptive analysis method. The results showed that the use of colored lenses in high myopia patients who wear minus glasses can reduce glare and provide comfort in detailed vision.]]>

<![CDATA[Adjusting the pantoscopic angle on a stainless steel rimless mounting frame has a high risk, it requires the special skills of an Optimistic Refractionist and requires adequate and skilled equipment to use it, the right lens characteristics, and understanding of the technique for making adjustments. In this writing, the author uses a descriptive method from library data, one of which is by David S. McCleary entitled The Optician Training Manual. Adjusting the pantoscopic angle with the right technique on the stainless steel rimless mounting frame will avoid the risk of damage to the frame and lens, and can produce glasses that are comfortable to use by eyeglass wearers.]]>
