Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the duration of gadget use and the incidence of myopia among university students. Methods: This research employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The study population consisted of university students, and respondents were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data on gadget use duration were collected using a structured questionnaire, while myopia status was determined through visual examination and refractive assessment. The collected data were analyzed using appropriate statistical tests to determine the relationship between the duration of gadget use and the incidence of myopia at a significance level of 5%. Results and Discussion: The findings demonstrated a significant relationship between the duration of gadget use and the incidence of myopia among university students. Respondents with longer daily gadget use were more likely to experience myopia than those with shorter durations of use. Prolonged exposure to near-work activities through digital devices is considered to increase accommodative demand and visual stress, which may contribute to the development and progression of myopia. These findings support previous evidence indicating that excessive digital device use is an important environmental risk factor for myopia in young adults. Conclusion: The duration of gadget use is significantly associated with the incidence of myopia among university students. Promoting healthy digital device use, limiting prolonged screen exposure, and encouraging regular visual breaks are recommended to reduce the risk of myopia and maintain visual health among students.

Abstract

Sales strategy  are one way to win a sustainable competitive advantage for companies that produce goods or services. Sales strategy can be seen as one of the basics used in planning a company as a whole. Viewed from the breadth of the problems that exist within the company, it is necessary to have a comprehensive plan as a guide for the company's segments in carrying out their activities, another reason that shows the importance of sales techniques is the increasingly fierce competition in companies in general. sales to increase competitiveness, and to find out how effective the implementation of sales techniques has been. This research was conducted at Optik Octa 12 Citayam Depok. Data collection techniques with documentation, interviews and  observations, the type of research is descriptive research. The results of the analysis of the effectiveness of sales techniques show an increase in total sales from year to year and serve as a reference for the effectiveness of marketing strategies in competition between optical businesses

Abstract

Myopia is one of the most common refractive errors and a major cause of correctable visual impairment worldwide. This study aimed to describe the characteristics of patients with myopia who underwent refractive examinations at Maestro Optical Center in January 2026. This quantitative descriptive observational study employed a total sampling technique involving 30 patients diagnosed with myopia. Data were collected through direct observation, structured questionnaires, and documentation of refractive examination records. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and presented as frequencies and percentages. The results showed that all respondents were aged >12 years (100%). Most respondents were female (26; 86.7%), while 4 (13.3%) were male. The majority reported no family history of myopia (63%). Mild myopia was the most frequently observed refractive category, affecting 19 respondents (63%). Prolonged digital device use was reported by 12 respondents (40%), while spectacles were the most commonly used method of optical correction (21; 70%). These findings indicate that patients with myopia at Maestro Optical Center were predominantly aged >12 years, female, had no reported family history of myopia, presented with mild myopia, and primarily used spectacles. The findings provide baseline information that may support targeted eye health education and improvements in refractive optometry services
