Abstract

One form of higher education's concern for the social and cultural environment (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi) is through the Community Service Program (KKN). With the establishment of a harmonious relationship between Higher Education and the community, it is hoped that it can provide input for improving the quality of Higher Education needed by the community. On August 4 2023, the Work Program for Free Checking blood pressure, glucose and uric acid was carried out. Health checks were carried out on 50 people in the Kalimaya Elderly Posyandu, Randegansari Village. From the results of the examination, there were 29 people (58%) with high blood pressure, 6 people (12%) with high blood sugar levels, and 15 people (30%) with high uric acid levels. Hypertension, Gout, and Blood Sugar Disease from the results of the examinations conducted, it shows that many people still experience this disease and the cause is because people do not care and do not want to carry out health checks on health workers or independently. Health workers need to provide education to the community in the Posyandu Elderly Kalimaya Village of Randegansari regarding health checks to know and control blood pressure, blood sugar, and uric acid so that they can prevent possible diseases that will arise such as hypertension, diabetes and so on.

Abstract

Marriage is conducted with the aim of establishing a household between partners, requiring maturity and responsibility both physically and mentally. According to the 2017 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (SDKI) for East Java Province, 17 percent of women of reproductive age (20–24 years) were married by the age of 18, while two percent reported marrying at the age of 15. Islamic boarding schools (Pesantren) face similar issues regarding early marriage. Many students are forced to drop out of both formal schools and Pesantren due to the constraints of a still conservative socio-cultural environment. The community service program was conducted from May to September 2024 at Pondok Pesantren X, located in Krembung District, Sidoarjo Regency. A total of 17 Santri Husada participated in the activities. Strengthening the role of Santri Husada and improving their knowledge and attitudes toward the maturation of marriage age (Pendewasaan Usia Perkawinan or PUP) are essential. Education through peer educators has been shown to positively impact Santri Husada knowledge on stunting (88.2%), reproductive health (82.4%), and the maturation of marriage age (88.2%). Additionally, this initiative has encouraged behavioral changes among students, particularly in managing the cleanliness and organization of their sleeping environment.

Abstract

Hypertension is the number one cause of death in the world every year. Hypertension is now a major problem for all of us, not only in Indonesia but in the world, because hypertension is one of the entry points or risk factors for diseases such as heart disease, kidney failure, diabetes, stroke. The problems that will be addressed in this community service program are increasing public knowledge about the importance of regulating diet and implementing or providing star shine juice for hypertension sufferers in Kebonsari Village, Surabaya. The method used is to gather patients and/or their families then provide health education and conduct blood pressure checks. Education and training use lecture methods, questions and answers and direct demonstrations. A pre- test is conducted before education and training are given. Meanwhile, to determine the increase in respondent knowledge, it can be determined by comparing the results of the post-test with the results of the pre-test. The level of knowledge of hypertension sufferers and their families increased after being given health education on the management of hypertension which includes regulating diet and implementing or giving star shine juice. Sufferers and their families have been able to make star shine juice as a health drink to lower high blood pressure. Abstract

Socialization of occupational safety and health (OSH) is an important effort to raise community awareness about the importance of implementing OSH principles in the workplace, especially in villages with a high potential for accidents and work-related illnesses. This article examines the implementation of an OSH socialization program in Kemiri Village, aimed at fostering a strong OSH culture and creating an OSH-conscious village. The methods used in this study include observation, interviews, and the distribution of questionnaires to village residents. The research results indicate that the community's understanding of OSH remains low, with numerous cases of workplace accidents occurring due to a lack of knowledge and awareness of safety importance. The socialization program involved training, seminars, and outreach activities that engaged all community members. As a result of the socialization efforts, there was a significant increase in the community's knowledge and awareness of OSH. The community became more proactive in implementing preventive measures, leading to a reduction in workplace accident rates in the village. These findings suggest that effective OSH socialization efforts can create a safer and healthier working environment and encourage the establishment of an OSH-conscious village.
