Abstract

Productive age is a risk group that is prone to hypertension and hypertension increases with age. Management of hypertension plays a role in maintaining the stability of the patient's medical condition and slowing the occurrence of complications. However, the implementation of the hypertension disease management program has not been carried out optimally. This research was carried out quantitatively, with a quasi-experimental type of research using one-group pretest-posttest design approach. Activities were carried out in four stages, namely situation analysis, plan formulation, implementation, and monitoring evaluation. Evaluation of systolic and diastolic blood pressure and knowledge of participants was done before and after the program. The intervention results showed that there were significant differences in systolic, diastolic blood pressure, and public knowledge before and after the program (p<0.005). Community based hypertension management programs have proven to be effective in increasing the knowledge and clinical conditions of people with hypertension. Therefore, to increase knowledge, attitudes, and skills to control hypertension and support are needed by health workers, cadres and families.

Abstract

Hypertension is increased blood pressure in the arteries continuously over a period, where the symptoms of hypertension are very diverse in each individual. Hypertension is a systolic and diastolic pressure of more than 160mmHg and 90mmHg, which is also common in the elderly. Objective: This study aims to determine the impact of providing health education related to hypertension and anti-hypertensive exercise on blood pressure in the elderly at Wisma Cempaka UPT PSTW Jember. This research used a quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test one-group design. The sampling technique used is a total sampling of 16 respondents. Data collection techniques were simple interviews, questionnaires and measuring blood pressure using a sphygmomanometer. Data were analyzed using the T-Test. The implementation includes health education, and blood pressure measurement, hypertension exercise. The results of statistical tests showed that there was an effect on blood pressure results before and after the Hypertension exercise. The respondent's blood pressure in the pre-test obtained average systolic 128.75 mmHg, and average diastolic pre-test 80.94 mmHg. The average post-test systolic value is 119.38 mmHg, and the average post-test diastolic is 77.19 mmHg. The level of knowledge of the elderly at Wisma Cempaka has increased with changes in post-test scores. This result proves the importance of health education and hypertension exercise in controlling blood pressure. There is a difference in systolic blood pressure before and after anti-hypertensive exercise. Anti-hypertensive exercise can be used as an alternative modification to lower blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension and provide health education for knowledge of controlling blood pressure.

Abstract

One of the important foundations in toddlerhood is good and healthy nutritional status. However, there were still many problems with nutritional status at that time, one of which was stunting in toddlers. This condition occurs due to parents' lack of awareness and knowledge regarding the pattern of fulfilling nutrition, especially in toddlers. The lack of awareness and knowledge of mothers about bad parenting practices, the variety of ingredients and the variety of types of food provided to fulfill nutrition in toddlers, and the limited health services, will lead to disruption of the process of growth and development of toddlers, especially brain development. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase parents' role in preventing and treating stunting through increasing parental awareness and knowledge. Community service activities are carried out by educating mothers about efforts to prevent and treat stunting in toddlers. The population of under five is 55 children, with a sample of 17 mothers under five. The results of this community service activity show increased knowledge and awareness of mothers under five about preventing and treating stunting in toddlers, with pretest results of 70.4% and posttest (96%). The results of this community service activity are expected to be reference materials for subsequent community service activities.

Abstract

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is important in all industrial sectors. The purpose of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is to improve and maintain the highest degree of all workers, both physically and mentally, and to ensure workers' welfare to prevent occupational diseases. UD. Tirto Agung is an informal industry that produces various types of cotton. UD. Tirto Agung Worker has 13 employees consisting of 7 women and six men divided into two work shifts. The practitioner's survey observed various potential hazards, namely noise, dust, poor lighting, and bad air temperature. From this problem, practitioners provide education about 5S (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain). This socialization aims to provide insight and knowledge about the 5S program, dust hazards, and practitioners providing personal protective equipment (PPE). The socialization results are successful because knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) has increased from 13 workers, 10 of whom understand the dangers in the work environment and can implement 5S socialization in the workplace. In comparison, three workers have yet to be able to implement 5S in the work environment due to the influence of age.

Abstract

The impact of the eruption of Mount Semeru in Lumajang Regency, East Java, was in the form of environmental damage and caused many fatalities. The problem that needs to be addressed is related to the adequacy of nutrition for high-risk groups of people, including infants and toddlers, whose nutritional status and food intake are often not monitored. As an effort to overcome nutritional problems that arose after the eruption of Mount Semeru in Candipuro Village, Lumajang Regency. Monitor the nutritional status of toddlers aged 6-59 months who are at the evacuation site in Candipuro Village by measuring the Upper Arm Circumference (LiLA) using the Toddler LiLA tape and carried out for 1 month from the preparation stage, implementation to activity reporting. This Community Service activity was carried out at the Candipuro Village evacuation site with a target of 25 toddlers aged 6-59 months, and the results showed that the Toddler LiLA measurement that was carried out was declared successful because the toddlers whose nutritional status was monitored were confirmed to have good nutritional status while in the evacuation location. This activity is prioritized for toddlers because infants and toddlers are the most vulnerable group and require special nutritional treatment in the technical response to health crises due to disasters. It is stated that monitoring toddlers' growth must be carried out every month so that if toddlers experience nutritional problems, they can be handled more quickly and resolved.

Abstract

Hypertension is a type of degenerative disease whose prevalence is increasing over time. The success of hypertension management is influenced by daily activities for people with hypertension to control blood pressure. The purpose of implementing this intervention is to reduce blood pressure and control the blood pressure of hypertensive patients by doing hypertension therapy exercises. The training used is a training method by collaborating with hypertension exercise movements in young adults, using a sample of 30 hypertension sufferers in RT 23 RW 05, Kedung Rejo Village, Waru District, Sidoarjo Regency. The application of hypertension therapy exercise is carried out three times a week with a duration of 30 minutes, and evaluation of the ability of hypertension therapy exercise and evaluation of blood pressure at the beginning and end of the meeting. The results of the evaluation of the ability of hypertension therapy exercise according to operational standards (SOP) with the results of blood pressure initially seven people (23.3%) with normal high criteria (130-139/85-89mmHg) to 23 people (76.7%) after being given hypertension therapy gymnastics training activities. Hypertension therapy gymnastics can lower blood pressure and be modified through young adult gymnastics movements that can be applied routinely to people with hypertension. The results of this training activity are expected to increase the self-awareness of hypertension sufferers to increase gymnastic activities as a non-pharmacological treatment so that their blood pressure remains normal and as a basis for developing further interventions.
