Abstract

This article highlights the meaning of ecclesiastical teachings based on the Bible as the Word of God in an effort to meet the needs of the poor in the Negeri (village) Booi congregation through the tradition or local wisdom of “nutmeg collecting”. This study employs Max Weber’s point of view on social action, where for every social activity carried out, there is always an internal motivation (Vertehen). This study was done in a qualitative manner with an ethnographic approach conducted in April 2022 – December 2022. The data was collected through in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. The data was analyzed following the stages proposed by Chariri with source triangulation as a strategy in examining the data validity. The results show that the local wisdom of “nutmeg collecting” could be used as a strategy in overcoming poverty problems, especially related to income inequality experienced by women. In the mainstream (classical/neoclassical) economic views, the behavior of this indigenous community was certainly very detrimental, as it was related to efforts to maximize income for oneself. However, on the contrary, this local wisdom also emphasized the needs of others which were supported by the religious teachings they believed in. This condition also emphasized that the presence of the local wisdom supported by the religious teachings was an informal insurance that the needs of the poor women of the indigenous community would always be met at any time through the availability of fallen nutmeg.

Abstract

Background: With the high number of cancer cases and deaths and the continued increase in cancer financing, which has caused a number of countries, including Indonesia, to continue to struggle to reduce the impact of cancer, the things that must be done are detection, screening, and treatment, as well as palliative care, which are key components of the response to cancer. Early detection is a major step toward increasing the chances of cancer survivors becoming survivors. The achievement of early detection of cervical cancer in Indonesia in 2019–2021 is still low, at 6.83%, or as many as 2,827,177 women aged 30–50 years have undergone early detection of cervical cancer with the Visual Acetate Inspection (IVA) method. Banten Province only reached 5.61%, which means that it is below the average achievement of Indonesia, and Cilegon City is also still low in the achievement of early detection of cervical cancer in 2021, which is 1.2%. The purpose of this study is to determine the picture of the implementation of the cervical cancer early detection program with the IVA method in Cilegon City and identify obstacles that arise in its implementation. Method: This research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, group discussion forums, and document review. Results: The results showed that the availability of SOPs, facilities, and infrastructure that support the implementation is not yet balanced between human resources and the target of the cervical cancer early detection program. There are constraints in the process of implementation, recording, and reporting, as well as low differences in perception in calculating the target achievement of the cervical cancer early detection program. Conclusion: The implementation of the early detection program in all Public Health Center in Cilegon City in 2022 is in accordance with the policy, even though there are still obstacles in its implementation, both passively and actively, so that achievement is still very low.

Abstract

More than a decade has passed when the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area (ACFTA) first began, but until now many parties see ACFTA has not significantly impacted Indonesia's interests. This paper seeks to examine more deeply the position of the Indonesian economy in the midst of ACFTA's journey. Using a qualitative approach, this paper uses a descriptive method that explores ACFTA problems against Indonesian interests. The theoretical concept used in conducting analysis is from the point of view of competitive intelligence. The results show that ACFTA as a whole poses more threats and challenges than direct positive impacts. Despite the main positive impact that can be obtained by implementing the free trade agreement (FTA), ACFTA over the past decade has not been able to create positive conditions in the Indonesia-China trade balance. Threats and challenges are even obtained by Indonesia, especially industry players and domestic commodity traders who must prepare for the arrival of a "flood" of products from China. However, in terms of geopolitics and geostrategy, ACFTA's sustainability will greatly affect the overall cooperative relationship between Indonesia and China.

Abstract

Industry 4.0, also known as the fourth industrial revolution, has altered society and the economy by introducing intelligent robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing enormous data sets, the Internet of Things (IoT), and 3D printers, among other scientific advances. To maintain competitiveness and keep up with global competition, it is vital to adapt to modern technology. The financial sector is a vibrant market with intense competition for products and services, and advancements in information technology have led to the development of highly valuable new technologies. This essay addresses the possible advantages of artificial intelligence in the banking sector. The study utilized a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to evaluate the current literature on AI in the banking industry. The results of the SLR demonstrate that AI has been utilized in the banking industry in a variety of ways, including credit rating models and bank collapse prediction. In establishing credit card eligibility, logistic regression models were shown to be effective, with an accuracy rate of 80.43 percent. With a precision rate of 75.7% and a recall rate of 75.7%, artificial neural networks (ANNs) were shown to be the most accurate method for predicting bank collapse based on financial characteristics.  Overall, the study indicates that AI has the ability to dramatically improve the banking business by enhancing efficiency, precision, and decision-making procedures. The study has limitations and potential biases, including the exclusion of non-English language articles and the possibility of a selection bias. To explore the full potential of AI in the banking business, additional study is required.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the issuance of MEMR Regulation Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Provision of Electric Charging Infrastructure for Battery-Based Electric Motor Vehicles, especially focusing on provisions related to electricity tariffs on surcharge fees for KBLBB fast charging and ultrafast charging consumers/customers. The calculation of surcharge fees can be economically affected by investment costs, operational costs, electric vehicle volume, and charging energy per electric vehicle (EV), so this study on surcharge fees is calculated using several scenarios and simulations carried out. The scenario is based on investment costs and operational costs using high and low cost financing calculations, and the simulation in question is on the volume of energy and electric vehicles over the next 15 years with pessimistic, moderate and optimistic simulations. This study uses quantitative descriptive methods that aim to describe or descriptive about a situation objectively using numbers, starting from data collection, interpretation through analysis of the data and appearance and results. The results of calculations from scenarios and simulations that have been carried out, calculations that are close to economics and based on current conditions that low cost scenarios with moderate simulations are appropriate recommendations to be applied at this time. Of course, the amount of application of the service fee must be evaluated by the Government every year, because the calculation component greatly affects the amount of the service fee.

Abstract

As Sierra Leone attempts to recover from the past excruciating economic downturn, it is essential to preserve investors' faith in the capital market by conducting excellent audits and providing truthful financial reporting. However, it is unclear how auditor independence, rotation, and audit quality relate to one another in Sierra Leone. In Sierra Leone, the relationship between independence, rotation, and audit quality will be thoroughly and in-depth examined in this study. The study’s main objective is to know the effects of auditor independence and rotation on the quality of audits in Sierra Leone. Its specific objectives are the effects of auditor rotation on the quality of audits, the reasons behind the lack of auditor independence in Sierra Leone, the relationship between auditors’ independence and Audit Quality, and the reasons for the voluntary rotation of auditors in Sierra Leone. The respondents of the research were auditors in the audit services in Sierra Leone. And the data were analyzed using SPSS. The research results show that auditor rotation is perceived to enhance audit quality, and there is a significant link between auditors' independence and audit quality. The lack of auditor independence in Sierra Leone is primarily due to their financial interests in clients' companies, resulting in conflicts of interest additionally, the absence of a code of ethics and the voluntary nature of auditor rotation contribute to the lack of independence. The study emphasizes the crucial role of auditor competence and independence in ensuring audit quality. It re recommended that Auditor rotation be implemented in Sierra Leone to improve auditor independence, enhance the quality of audits, and establish and provide a comprehensive code of ethics for auditors in Sierra Leone.
