Abstract

Abstract This study aims to investigate the significance of sentence structure in the acquisition of English language skills. It also seeks to identify the difficulties encountered by English learners in understanding sentence structure and propose effective solutions to assist them in overcoming these problems. The study employs a pre-experimental research design with a quantitative methodology. The research sample consisted of 30 respondents or students of English as a second language, who were separated into three separate classes. The AI intervention group demonstrated significantly higher levels of engagement (behavioural, emotional, and cognitive) than students in the no-AI equipment (NEAI) group. The results of this study suggest that AI may help students be more proficient writers

Abstract

This study examined the role of multisensory approaches in enhancing student well-being in learning English as a foreign language (EFL). By integrating multisensory approaches into learning strategies, the study aimed to address language anxiety, a significant barrier for EFL learners. The study used a qualitative library research method to gather and evaluate existing literature and data from diverse sources. It is designed as a qualitative meta-synthesis, which entails gathering and synthesizing qualitative research and theoretical works to uncover major themes and patterns to provide a complete framework for early language teaching methods. The focus on young learners, who often experienced high levels of language anxiety, highlighted the complexity of learning English and the potential of multisensory approaches to mitigate these challenges. The study underscored the importance of considering student well-being in the EFL learning process, suggesting that teachers should incorporate multisensory strategies to enhance language acquisition and overall student well-being. The findings intended to guide curriculum designers, educators, and policymakers, emphasizing the benefits of multisensory approaches in EFL teaching. This research aimed to provide valuable insights for improving English teaching methods and as a foundation for future studies on the impact of multisensory approaches on student well-being and language learning.

Abstract

Writing is a critical language skill that students must acquire; nevertheless, the teaching and learning process for writing in the classroom does not go smoothly. As a result, the purpose of this study is to examine Wordtune's potential as a digital writing aid to enhance the written proficiency of English as a foreign language (EFL) students. To accomplish this goal, a pre-experimental research design was used with quantitative research tools. The pre- and post-tests were employed as tools for gathering data. Twenty students in grade ten at SMK-BM PAB 3 Medan Estate, majoring in MPLB and AKL, served as the sample for this study. Tests were given both before and after the intervention to gather data. The significant difference between the pre-and post-tests was analyzed statistically using SPSS with the T-test. The result indicates that the probability value for pre-test and post-test data is 0.000, the Tcount value is 26.536, and the Ttable value is 2.093. Because the value of Tcount > Ttable is 26.536 > 2.093 and the probability value (Sig.) 0.000 < 0.05. As a result, the use of Wordtune considerably enhanced students' writing skills. As this study demonstrated, Wordtune can be integrated into the learning process to help students write more successfully.

This systematic review aims to investigate the impact of e-sports on developing cognitive, social, and technical skills among students. A comprehensive literature search was conducted on academic databases such as Google Scholar, Scopus, and Web of Science, covering studies published between 2019 and 2024. The inclusion criteria were research article discussing the use of e-sports in education and its impact on student skills, written in English of the national language. After removing duplicates, titles and abstracts were screened, and eligible article were then reviewed in their entirety to extract relevant data. The results indicate that participation in competitive gaming can enhance problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, teamwork, communication, and digital literacy. However, challenges such as accessibility for students with cognitive impairments and potential negative health impact mush be addressed. Despite these challenges, the findings suggest that with careful implementation, e-sport can be a valuable addition to traditional educational methods. Future research should focus on long-term impacts and optimal integration strategies to maximize the educational benefits of e-sports.

Abstract

This study investigates how teaching young students English using Total Physical Response can be a stress-free method. It highlights that learning English can be stressful for some students, particularly young students like kindergarteners who have different comprehension levels than adults. Therefore, the teaching process must be engaging and the environment appropriate for young minds. TPR, which requires coordination of speaking and movement, has been identified as a highly effective strategy for teaching young children. This approach has been widely used in kindergartens and elementary schools, making learning enjoyable and aiding in retaining English words and expressions. Studies have shown TPR to be effective for young students and students in junior high, senior high, and adulthood. TPR has also been found suitable for dyslexic and visually impaired students, offering benefits such as stress reduction, improved comprehension, and memory enhancement. However, TPR has limitations, including the necessity for teachers to adhere to the curriculum, potentially causing stress and limiting student creativity, as activities focus on mimicking the teacher rather than generating original sentences.
