Abstract

The rapid integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into religious communication has transformed the practice of digital da'wah, yet studies that comprehensively examine both its opportunities and ethical challenges from an Islamic communication perspective remain limited. This study aims to analyze the potential, challenges, and ethical implications of AI in digital da'wah while addressing this research gap by synthesizing current scholarly evidence. The novelty of this study lies in its integrative analysis that connects AI adoption, Islamic communication ethics, and strategies for sustainable digital da'wah. This study employed a qualitative approach using library research as its research design. Data was collected through a documentation study of peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles, books, conference proceedings, and other scientific documents relevant to the research topic. The selected literature was analyzed systematically using predefined inclusion criteria to ensure its relevance and credibility. Data analysis was conducted using the content analysis method through the stages of data reduction, categorization, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that AI has considerable potential to expand access to religious information and enhance the effectiveness of digital da'wah. Nevertheless, AI also poses risks, including a crisis of religious authority, the dissemination of unverified information, the commercialization of da'wah, and the diminishing humanistic dimension of religious communication. Therefore, strengthening digital literacy, improving technological competencies among da'i (Islamic preachers), implementing Islamic communication ethics, and fostering collaboration between religious scholars and technology developers are essential to ensure that the utilization of AI remains aligned with Islamic values. These findings contribute to the growing discourse on AI in religious communication by providing a conceptual framework for integrating technological innovation with Islamic ethical principles, thereby offering practical and theoretical guidance for future digital da'wah initiatives.

Abstract

Research on integrating Ki Hajar Dewantara’s character education values with Islamic education in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum remains limited. Character education is one of the primary focuses in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum as an effort to develop learners who are not only academically competent but also possess strong character aligned with the values of Pancasila. In this context, the educational philosophy of Ki Hajar Dewantara remains highly relevant, as it places character formation as the central objective of education. Likewise, Islamic education emphasizes the development of noble character (akhlaq) through the internalization of religious values in students’ daily lives. This study aims to analyze the integration of Ki Hajar Dewantara’s character education values into Islamic education within the Merdeka Curriculum and to identify their contribution to strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile. The study employed a qualitative approach using library research as its research design. Data were collected from various books, scholarly journal articles, policy documents, and relevant studies concerning character education, Islamic education, Ki Hajar Dewantara’s educational thought, and the Merdeka Curriculum. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis through the processes of identification, classification, interpretation, and synthesis of relevant literature. The findings indicate that Ki Hajar Dewantara’s character education values, including exemplary conduct, independence, mutual cooperation, wisdom, creativity, and respect for others, are strongly aligned with the values of Islamic education as well as the dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile. The integration of these values can be implemented through classroom instruction, habituation practices, teacher role modeling, school culture, and collaboration among families, schools, and communities. The findings also reveal that integrating Ki Hajar Dewantara’s character education values into Islamic education can strengthen the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in fostering students who are faithful, morally upright, independent, creative, critical thinkers, and capable of living harmoniously in a diverse society. Therefore, the integration of Ki Hajar Dewantara’s character education values and Islamic education may serve as a relevant conceptual model for strengthening students’ character development in the contemporary educational era.

Abstract

The use of Artificial Intelligence in higher education institutions brings several important issues, including the risks to student data privacy, concerns about ethics in AI model development, and the potential loss of human interaction in the learning process. This study aims to explore the opportunities and challenges of Artificial Intelligence, as well as the ethics of its use among PPKn students at Universitas PGRI Wiranegara. The study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. The informants in this study were Civic Education students who met the criteria of having used AI, understanding the ethics of AI use, and understanding the opportunities and challenges that AI presents. The total number of informants in this study was 17, consisting of active Civic Education students from the 2022, 2023, and 2024 cohorts at Universitas PGRI Wiranegara. The results show that PPKn students see Artificial Intelligence as a tool that can help them in learning, but also as a tool that comes with challenges. AI brings both significant challenges and opportunities. A unique contribution of this study is the emphasis students place on using AI ethically in line with Pancasila principles. These findings show how important it is to use AI responsibly in learning for students as ethical digital users. Also, the findings suggest that Artificial Intelligence offers useful opportunities for learning, like helping students understand material and come up with ideas to complete assignments. However, Artificial Intelligence also comes with challenges and ethics are needed when using it

Abstract

This study aims to analyze teachers' perceptions and identify challenges faced in integrating Islamic values (Islamic Integration) into Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning at MI Plus Al Falah Banjarmasin. The integration of Islamic values in IPAS learning is a crucial issue in the implementation of the Independent Curriculum because it is not only oriented towards mastery of knowledge, but also towards character building and spiritual strengthening of students. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, open-ended surveys, and literature studies. Research informants were selected through purposive sampling, namely teachers involved in IPAS learning and the implementation of the Independent Curriculum and the school principal. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that teachers have a very positive perception of the implementation of Islamic Integration in science and science learning. Teachers believe that the integration of Islamic values can improve students' understanding of the relationship between science and Islamic teachings, while strengthening their religious character. The implementation of integration is carried out by linking science and science material with relevant verses of the Quran and hadith, especially on material related to living things and natural phenomena. However, the study also found several major challenges, namely teachers' limited knowledge of the concept of science and Islam integration, difficulty in finding appropriate evidence for science and science material, and the unavailability of teaching modules and learning tools based on Islamic Integration. On the other hand, the support of madrasah principals and the flexibility of the Independent Curriculum are supporting factors that strengthen the implementation of this integration. This study concludes that the successful implementation of Islamic Integration in science and education learning is influenced not only by positive teacher perceptions, but also by the availability of learning tools, professional training, and ongoing institutional support. Therefore, programs to strengthen teacher competency, develop integrated teaching modules, and develop more systematic madrasah policies to support Islamic values-based science and education learning are needed.

Abstract

Despite the growing adoption of deep learning in contemporary education, limited studies have examined its conceptual integration into Islamic Religious Education (PAI), creating a need for a comprehensive theoretical analysis. This study investigates and explains the application of deep learning as a learning strategy within Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and its relevance to students' learning experiences. Employing a library research approach, the study draws upon a range of scholarly publications, books, educational policy documents, and previous research findings related to the concepts of deep learning and Islamic Religious Education. The collected data were examined through a systematic process involving identification, classification, interpretation, and synthesis of information obtained from multiple sources. The analysis demonstrates a strong alignment between the principles of deep learning and the objectives of Islamic Religious Education. Both emphasize the development of comprehensive understanding, reflective thinking, and the internalization of Islamic values. Deep learning encourages the integration of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor dimensions through reflective, problem-centered, contextual, collaborative, and experiential learning practices. In addition, its implementation contributes to the strengthening of critical thinking abilities, religious awareness, and practical life skills that enable learners to respond more effectively to contemporary challenges, including technological developments, changing learning systems, educational assessment practices, and policy transformations. The study further reveals that deep learning has become a central concern in educational reform efforts, particularly in relation to the implementation of educational policies promoted by the 21st-century learning paradigm and the Deep Learning Policy introduced by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education. The findings provide a conceptual framework for understanding the development of Islamic Religious Education learning strategies that are more adaptive, relevant, and responsive to contemporary educational needs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the authorial style employed by Leila Salikha Chudori in exploring and developing characters in the novel Laut Bercerita. The research adopted a qualitative descriptive design using a stylistic approach. Data were collected from narrative texts, dialogues, and symbolic expressions contained in the novel and analyzed through descriptive interpretation. The findings indicate that the author utilizes reflective narration, expressive language, meaningful dialogues, and symbolism to construct multidimensional characters with strong emotional and ideological qualities. The characterization of Biru Laut and Asmara Jati demonstrates psychological complexity, moral resilience, and emotional depth. In addition, the shifting narrative perspectives and poetic diction intensify readers’ emotional engagement and strengthen the representation of historical and social realities. The results also reveal that character development in the novel functions not only as a literary device but also as a medium for conveying educational values, including nationalism, empathy, and historical awareness. These values contribute to readers’ understanding of social justice and humanity. In conclusion, Chudori’s authorial style effectively integrates aesthetic and educational dimensions through character construction, making Laut Bercerita a relevant literary work for Indonesian language and literature learning, particularly at the secondary school level.

Abstract

This study provides a sociolinguistic analysis of how crisis neologisms reconfigure their meanings in response to structural societal stress. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative method and Geoffrey Leech’s framework of seven types of meaning, this research investigates five prominent terms: burnout, quiet quitting, job hugging, hustle culture, and underconsumption. By analyzing linguistic data extracted from the News on the Web (NOW) Corpus, this study offers empirical evidence of significant semantic migration across the entire sample set. The findings reveal that these neologisms do not remain static; rather, they shift beyond their original conceptual definitions into affective, collocative, and connotative realms to reflect modern pressures such as labor instability, mental health crises, and changing consumption patterns. This research contributes a novel framework for digital lexicography, offering practical applications for media analysts and communication experts to better identify, decode, and interpret the linguistic indicators of emergent societal tensions.

Abstract

Traditional elementary science instruction often relies on conventional teaching methods that inadequately contextualize abstract concepts, resulting in low student engagement, limited interest, and reduced creativity in learning energy transformation. This study proposes an integrated Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) approach adapted for fourth-grade students through a hands-on mini waterwheel project. A quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design was employed involving 50 students divided into an experimental group (integrated STEM) and a control group (standard Inquiry). Data were collected using learning achievement tests, questionnaires, and creativity assessment rubrics, and analyzed through independent sample t-tests and linear regression. The results demonstrate that the STEM approach significantly outperformed the conventional inquiry model in enhancing student creativity (t = 4.454, p < 0.05) and increasing learning interest. In addition, a strong positive correlation was identified between learning interest and creativity (r = 0.694), with learning interest contributing 73.3% to students' creative performance. These findings indicate that integrating STEM into elementary science instruction effectively transforms abstract scientific concepts into meaningful engineering experiences while fostering creativity and motivation. Therefore, the proposed instructional model provides a practical framework for elementary educators to systematically integrate interdisciplinary problem-solving into science learning, thereby promoting critical thinking, creativity, and adaptive skills from an early age.
