Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know the influence of problem based learning model in student motivation and learning achievement of MTs Nurul Huda Sarimulyo Ngawen Blora toward biological science on environmental pollution and it’s impact in life. The design of this research is true experimental design with pretest-posttest control group design. The sample was chosen by simple random sampling technique with VII B as experimental class and VII C as control class. The experimental class was applied by a treatment with problem based learning model and the control class was applied by direct instruction model. The research instruments were from test data (pretest and posttest) and student motivation form. In analyzing the data, there were two techniques used, namely: Mann Whitney u-test and independent sample t-test. The result of research showed that: 1) the average of student learning motivation score in experimental class was 84,61 and student learning motivation score in control class was 79,5. Based on the result of Mann Whitney u-test analyzing technique, p value was 0,008, and 0,008 < 0,05, it means that the using of problem based learning model has an influence on student learning motivation. 2) the average of student posttest score in experimental class was 66,85 and student posttest score in experimental class was 61,00. Based on the result of Mann Whitney u-test analyzing technique, p value was 0,039, and 0,039 < 0,05, it means that the using of problem based learning model had an influence on student learning achievement.Keywords: problem based learning, learning motivation, learning achievement, environmental pollution

Abstract

Green Chemistry adalah paradigma yang menggiatkan rancangan proses dan produk yang bisa memperkecil bahkan menghilangkan penggunaan maupun pembentukan bahan kimia beracun dan berbahaya. Green Chemistry mengembangkan inovasi proses kimia yang menggeser, menambah/mengurangi atau memperbaharui proses kimia tradisional-konvensional menjadi lebih ramah terhadap lingkungan maupun manusia tanpa meninggalkan prinsip-prinsip optimasi proses produksi. Penerapan Green Chemistry adalah langkah penting menuju pembangunan berkelanjutan (sustainable development). Makalah ini membahas kemungkinan menerapkan konsep dan aspek-aspek Green Chemistry dalam mata kuliah Pengetahuan Lingkungan pada mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi, terutama bila ilmu kimia bukan merupakan mata kuliah pokok. Tahapan pelaksanaan penerapan konsep Green Chemistry adalah sebagai berikut, tahap pertama, menanamkan kepekaan mahasiswa tentang masalah lingkungan dan pencemaran yang diakibatkan oleh bahan kimia beracun dan berbahaya, tahap kedua, mengenalkan kepada mahasiswa 12 prinsip Green Chemistry, tahap ketiga, mahasiswa belajar menganalisa penerapan prinsip Green Chemistry dalam mata kuliah Pengetahuan Lingkungan.    Kata Kunci : Green Chemistry, sustainable development, Pengetahuan Lingkungan, 12 prinsip Green Chemistry.

Abstract

Creative thinking skills is one of the life skills needed in the 21st century which can be empowered through learning process. That skills can be a provision for students to solve a variety problems, including in science learning. Creative thinking skills can not growed by itself, but need stimulated in the form of learning models that helps empower the skills. One of the learning model that helps empower creative thinking skills was Reading-Concept-Map Think Pair Share (Remap TPS) learning model. Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: a) mengidentifikasi konten sains yang ada pada sistem pranata mangsa, b) mengetahui pola pikir masyarakat Jawa dalam menyusun pengetahuan sehingga diperoleh sistem pranata mangsa, c) mengetahui pola pengembangan dan pewarisan pengetahuan sistem pranata mangsa ini oleh masyarakat Jawa.Sistem Kalender Pranata Mangsa sudah ada sejak jaman Aji Saka merupakan sistem kalender asli yang dimiliki oleh rakyat Jawa. Sistem kalender ini disusun berdasarkan hasil pengamatan terhadap peristiwa alam yang terjadi di bumi dan di langit. Kejadian alam yang berubah secara periodik dan teratur yang terjadi di tanah Jawa dan Bali disebabkan pergeseran semu letak matahari merupakan inti konten sains dalam system kalender ini. Sistem kalender ini semakin populer sejak dimodifikasi oleh Sultan Agung seorang Raja dari Kerajaan Mataram Islam, yang dijadikan dasar perhitungan dalam bertani. Sekarang, sistem kalender ini kurang diminati oleh generasi muda dari etnis  Jawa dan memilih menggunakan system kalender internasional. Hal ini disebabkan oleh: perubahan profesi, kurangnya informasi, dan perubahan iklim global. Sistem kalender pranata mangsa masih sesuai dengan perilaku hewan dan tumbuhan khususnya di Jawa. Oleh karena itu, perlu dikomunikasikan lagi sistem kalender pranata mangsa yang bermanfaat bagi kehidupan masyarakat khususnya di Tanah Jawa. Kata kunci: Pranata mangsa, sistem kalender, kalender jawa

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan menghitung keterampilan metakognisi pada PJBL di materi reproduksi. Parsitipant berjumlah 60 orang di kelas 10 SMA. Pengukuran keterampilan metakogisi menggunakan metacognition awarenes invention sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan PJBL di kelas kontrol dan perlakuan. Analisis keterampilan metakognisi dilakukan setiap individu berdasarkan skor kognitif dan keterampilan metakognisi di sub topik pertama dan terakhir materi reproduksi SMA. Hasil penelitian menunjukan: 1. Keterampilan metakognisi peserta didik ditemukan antara 13,33% - 20%  belum begitu berkembang dan 80%-87,665% masih belum berkembang; 2. Keterampilan metakognsi peserta didik di kelas perlakuan menunjukan  13.33% belum begitu berkembang dan 86,67% masih belum begitu berkembang, sedangkan metakognisi siswa di kelas kontrol  80% masih belum berkembang dan 20% belum begitu berkembang. Persentase keterampilan metakognisi masih belum berkembang menurun sedangkan persentase belum begitu berkembang meningkat melalui PJBL, sehingga metode dan teknik di setiap tahap pembelajaran PJBL perlu pengkajian yang lebih memfokuskan pada pengembangan keterampilan metakognisi yang lebih baik.Keywords:        metakognisi, reproduksi, PJBL, metacognition awarenes invention

Abstract

Abstract - Petunia has been used as research object on flavonoids studies especially anthocyanin biosynthesis. Hf1 gene encode F3'5'H enzyme which plays a role in the synthesis of color in Petunia. Research on the regulation of Petunia color is potential for the development of ornamental plant breeding in Indonesia, hence the information regarding the gene analysis is necessary. Recently, there are many reagent kits for the isolation and purification of plant DNA available, each has different protocols regarding the special character of plant tissue with various secondary metabolites accumulation. Secondary metabolites in plants have different chemical contents, for that reason its needs to develop a proper protocol resulting in pure DNA with high concentrations. This study aims to obtain the effective and efficient DNA isolation and purification protocol for Petunia hybrida. Optimization results showed that samples immersed in absolute ethanol for two days then dried and stored in the freezer until used have given the optimal results for further analysis. Abstract

ABSTRAK   Kemampuan akademik siswa terklasifikasi menjadi siswa akademik atas, sedang, dan bawah. Sebagian besar orang meyakini, siswa akademik bawah (under achievment) selamanya berprestasi rendah. Sementara itu, prestasi belajar tidak hanya dipengaruhi oleh kemampuan akademik. Prestasi belajar lebih banyak ditentukan oleh waktu yang diberikan kepada siswa untuk belajar. Siswa akademik bawah dapat sejajar prestasi belajarnya dengan siswa akademik atas jika mereka diberikan waktu belajar yang mencukupi. Persoalannya, alokasi waktu belajar siswa di sekolah uniform bagi semua siswa. Akibatnya, profil prestasi belajar siswa berbentuk kurva normal. Siswa akademik bawah selamanya berprestasi rendah. Pembelajaran kooperatif berpotensi mensejajarkan prestasi belajar siswa akademik bawah dengan siswa akademik atas. Sehingga, kegiatan remedial teaching yang faktanya di lapangan sekedar kegiatan re-test dapat diminimalkan.   Kata Kunci: Prestasi Belajar, Kemampuan Akademik, Pembelajaran Kooperatif

Abstract

To improve student learning outcomes is the selection of methods and media appropriate learning. This study aims to determine the differences in learning outcomes with the experimental method supported the real media and experimental methods with the pictures media on the  third-grade students of SDIT Pace Nganjuk . Research conducted by experiments with subjects of the IIIA grade by 25 students taught by the experimental method supported of the real media  and the IIIB grade  by 25 students taught by the experimental method supported of the picture media. The results show that the average and mastery of cognitive learning outcomes of students who are taught by an experimental method supported of the real media are 81.00 and 100 % respectively better than those taught using the experimental method supported of the picture media are 76.75 and 85 % respectively . Average affective and psychomotor learning outcomes of students who are taught by an experimental method supported of the real media are 13.85 and 12 respectively , while the average affective and psychomotor learning outcomes of students who are taught by an experimental method supported of the picture media  are 11 and 10.5 respectively. Keywords: experimental methods, real media, picture, learning outcomes

Abstract

A quasi-experimental research has been done in the city of Samarinda. The study applied combined  of Cooperative Script (CS) and Think-Pair-Share (TPS)  learning models on students who took a course Bacteriology. Two classes are used, one class for applied the combined CS- TPS learning model, in another class for applied to conventional learning, during the even semester of the 2015/2016 academic year. Research focuses on knowing the effect of the combined application of CPS-TPS learning model in empowering the cognitive learning and critical thinking skills. Sample was taken by purposive sampling based on the value of protists student, and obtained a total of 32 pairs of students. Retrieving data using assay, conducted on pre-test and post-test. Analysis of the data using the t test for paired samples with significance level of 5% (p˂0,05). The results of data analysis showed that the t value for the cognitive  learning is 2.21; and critical thinking skills is 2.10. T table (df = 32 + 32-2, α = 0.05) is 2.00. The application of combined of CPS-TPS learning model empowering influential in   bacteriological student learning outcomes.
