Abstract

ABSTRAK Senggani (Melastoma candidum D.Don) merupakan salah satu tanaman obat. Banyak sekali penyakit yang dapat diobati oleh tanaman ini, diantaranya gangguan pencernaan makanan (dispepsi), disentri basiler, diare, hepatitis, keputihan (leukorea), sariawan, busung air dan bisul. Suatu obat dapat dikatakan berhasil apabila obat tersebut dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri penyebab penyakit tersebut atau bersifat antibakteri. Bagian tumbuhan yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pengobatan adalah daun, akar, buah, dan biji. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan uji antibakteri ekstrak metanol daun senggani terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Bacillus licheniformis. Konsentrasi ekstrak yang digunakan adalah 0,1 g/mL, 0,2 g/mL, 0,3 g/mL, 0,4 g/mL, 0,5 g/mL, 0,6 g/mL, 0,7 g/mL, 0,8 g/mL, 0,9 g/mL, 1 g/mL. Kemudian memisahkan ekstrak daun senggani dengan kromatografi kolom menggunakan pelarut n-heksan : kloroform : asam asetat (7 : 2 : 2) dan mengidentifikasi senyawa aktif yang terdapat dalam daun senggani dengan penapisan fitokimia dan penegasan dengan KLT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun senggani memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Bacillus licheniformis dengan diameter zona hambat terbesar pada konsentrasi 1 g/mL yaitu 20,95 mm. Sedangkan fraksi kolom teraktif memiliki aktivitas antibakteri dengan diameter zona hambat 15,40 mm pada konsentrasi 0,2 g/mL. Dari kromatografi kolom dihasilkan fraksi no.1-4 yang memiliki aktivitas antibakteri dan fraksi no.12-39 yang tidak memiliki aktivitas antibakteri. Dari hasil penapisan fitokimia diketahui senyawa yang terkandung di dalam daun senggani merupakan golongan senyawa tanin dan flavonoid. Sedangkan fraksi teraktif hasil kromatografi kolom mengandung golongan senyawa flavonoid. Kata kunci : daun senggani, bakteri Bacillus licheniformis, antibakteri, kromatografi kolom, senyawa aktif

Abstract

Free inquiry is one level in inquiry learning that encourages students to identify a problem, find solutions to these problems through an experiment that was designed independently. One of the learning activities that can be applied is mini research. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of environmental pollution based mini research on integrated science process skills of students. This study uses a control class (laboratory activities) and the experimental class (mini research), both administered through learning activities about environmental pollution. This study is a quasi-experiment which sampling was taken by purposive sampling and using the matching-only design pretest-posttest control group design, in which the control and experimental classes are given a pretest and posttest. The subjects were high school students who took the specialization class, X Mathematics Natural Sciences (MIPA) in a country SMAN in Majalengka. Students from two classes, respectively accounted for 36 and 37 people. The data were taken by using integrated science process skills test, performance assessment of mini research, and students’ questionnaire responses concerning the application of learning that includes an ntegrated science process skill. The results showed that there were significant differences in integrated science process skills of students between the experimental class and control class. Assessment of performance mini research also showed good results, accompanied by a good response also to a mini lab activities and research in which students learn to apply the scientific approach.Keywords:        mini research, integrated science process skills, environmental pollution

Abstract

This research aims to enhance critical thinking skills and cognitive learning outcomes of students of class X IPA 4 SMA Laboratorium UM, through the aplication of Biology learning model based on Reading – Concept Map – Teams Games Tournaments. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consisted of two cycles. Cycle I carried as many as eleven times of meetings and the cycle II carried as many as twelve times of meetings. The subjects of this research are the 31 of class X IPA 4 SMA Laboratorium UM, comprising 11 male students and 12 female students. The increased results of the students’s critical thinking abilities can be seen from the end of the cycle test as follows. The test results were analyzed using critical thinking skills assessment rubric adapted from Hart. The assessment is done on the basis of some musty among other truths answers given, the ability to provide the right answers and reasons and in accordance with the order of the sentences logically correct and proper language rules. Cognitive learning outcomes data obtained from the test results were analyzed using the answer key cognitive learning outcomes based on the truth of the material.This research shows that the results, critical thinking skills of students has increased from cycle I to cycle II. In the cycle I, the class average grade is 46,22; while in the cycle II, the class average grade is 72,71. As in critical thinking ability, the increased cognitive learning outcomes also can be known from the end of the cycle test results. Abstract

Abstract-The research was purpose to find out the species diversity index, evenness index, abundance and dominance Nepenthes spp. in the forests of Borneo Tarakan University. The research explorative-descriptive has been implemented in the forest of Borneo Tarakan University. Sampling using a plot size of 10 x 10 m plots of 150 samples.Vegetation sampling with analysis techniques plot. Data were analyzed using the Shannon-wiener diversity index, evenness index Eveness, and important value index. Results showed the greatest diversity index of 1.05 means that moderate levels of diversity, the spread of the number of individuals of each species being and stability of the community. The lowest diversity is 0.68. Evenness index was highest of 0,76 means that Nepenthes vegetation in a state somewhat balanced. Lowest evenness index is 0,49. Abundance was highest of 367 individuals. Results of the highest importance value index N.ampularia by 105,56%. Keywords: nepenthes, diversity, evenness, dominance

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menghasilkan ensiklopedia peralatan laboratorium biologi sebagai sumber belajar IPA biologi untuk siswa kelas VII SMP/MTs; (2) mengetahui kualitas ensiklopedia peralatan laboratorium biologi sebagai sumber belajar IPA biologi untuk siswa kelas VII SMP/MTs. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian Research and Development (R&D) menggunakan model ADDIE meliputi tahap: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluations (Mulyatiningsih, 2012). Penelitian dibatasi sampai pada tahap development. Penelitian dilakukan pada kelas VII SMP N 12 Yogyakarta.  Instrumen penelitian berupa lembar angket check list dengan menggunakan skala likert. Penilaian produk dilakukan oleh 1 ahli materi, 2 ahli media, 3 peer reviewer, 2 guru IPA dan 20 siswa pada uji respon. Jenis data berupa data kualitatif  yang diubah kuantitatif kemudian ditabulasi dan dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif untuk mengetahui kualitas produk yang dikembangkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) produk ensiklopedia peralatan laboratorium biologi dikembangkan dengan model ADDIE sebagai sumber belajar IPA biologi untuk siswa kelas VII SMP/MTs yang berbasis kurikulum 2013; (2) kualitas ensiklopedia yang dikembangkan berdasarkan penilaian dari ahli materi dengan persentase sebesar 87,1% termasuk kategori sangat baik (SB); ahli media sebesar 77,2% termasuk kategori baik (B); peer reviewer sebesar 86,3% termasuk kategori sangat baik (SB); guru IPA sebesar 93,3% termasuk kategori sangat baik (SB) dan respon siswa sebesar 91% termasuk kategori sangat baik (SB). Selain itu, penilaian keseluruhan ensiklopedia sebesar 87,4% termasuk kategori sangat baik (SB). Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ensiklopedia peralatan laboratorium biologi yang dikembangkan dengan model ADDIE memiliki kualitas sangat baik (SB) sehingga layak digunakan sebagai sumber belajar IPA biologi untuk siswa kelas VII SMP/MTs.Keywords:      Ensiklopedia, peralatan laboratorium Biologi, penelitian pengembangan

Abstract

School action research aims to improve the ability of teachers in managing IPA learning in elementary school through clinical supervision, academic supervision and supervision classes. School action research conducted two cycles. The I-cycle related to the design of the device, and the RPP cycle II of the management learning. The subject is the teacher of class V IPA SDN Sungai Tiung4. The research was carried out on the even semester 2016/2017.Data design device RPP retrieved from the device's assessment of the RPP made teachers. Data management of the learning derived from the results and the process of learning. All data were analyzed in quantitative descriptive.The results showed 1) the ability of teachers in designing RPP devices can be improved, 2) the ability of teachers in managing learning seen from student learning outcomes, namely the results of group work students in solving LKS questions are good, observations of student performance are also classified as good group activities during the learning process are also good.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Hexavalent chrom (Cr(VI)) is recognized as toxic heavy metal, produced from textile printing manufacture. Negatif effect  of Cr(VI) shuold be reduced towards biotic environtment, so it is important to reduce Cr(VI) become Cr(III) which little hazard. Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pseudomonas putida, Klebsiella pneumonia, Pantoea sp and Saccharomyces cerevisieae. They are including as resistent Cr(VI) microorganism and they have ability to reduce Cr(VI). The aim of the research is to know the ability of microorganism in reducing Cr(VI) and knowing protein band pattern between Cr(VI) resistent microorganism and microorganism which is inoculated on LB broth without Cr(VI).  Electrophoresis SDS-PAGE is the methode which is used to indentified protein expression. While, for knowing concentration Cr(VI) in liquid medium is used by 1,5 difenilkarbazid methode. The quantitative data is obtained being analyzed by ANAVA two factorial continued with Duncan test at 1% level test. The qualitative data include protein expression analyzed by Relative mobility (Rf) and for knowing molecular weight of protein is used protein marker. The qualitative data had been analyzed by descriptive qualitative methode.The result of the research shows that  in Cr(VI) concentration after being treat by the microorganisms at the initial concentration 0, 5ppm, 1 ppm, 5 ppm and 10 ppm and compared  the reduce Cr(VI) capability from the average procentage data each microorganism are: P. putida (65%) > S. cerevisieae (64,45%) > P. aeruginosa (60,73%) > Pantoea sp (50,22%) > K. pneumonia (47,82%) > without microorganism (34,25%). The adding microorganisms have influence toward reduction of Cr(VI). Key word: Cr heavy metal, microorganism, protein, electrophoresis

Abstract

Yoghurt merupakan produk hasil fermentasi susu, starter atau bibit yang digunakan adalah bakteri  asam laktat (Lactobacillus bulgaricus  dan  Streptococcus thermophilus) dengan perbandingan yang sama. Yoghurt kacang koro benguk putih merupakan  salah satu produk hasil fermentasi yang banyak mengandung zat gizi. Proses fermentasi dalam bahan pangan menyebabkan pertumbuhan yang menguntungkan seperti perbaikan bahan pangan dari segi mutu, baik dari aspek gizi maupun daya cerna.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian kultur campur antara  Lactobacillus bulgaricus dan Streptococcus thermophilus  terhadap kandugan serat dan Fe (besi) pada yoghurt kacang koro benguk putih (Mucuna pruriens). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan  Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan. Perlakuan yang digunakan yaitu (A). 1liter susu koro + 15 ml starter, (B). 1liter susu koro + 20 ml starter, (C). 1l iter susu koro + 25 ml starter. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan Analisis Of Variance (ANAVA), dilanjutkan dengan Uji Jarak Ganda Duncan (UJGD). Hasil analisis varians kandungan serat pada yoghurt koro benguk putih (Mucuna pruriens) diketahui Fhitung (19,698) > Ftabel 5% (5,14) dan < Ftabel 1% (10,92) sehingga menunjukan hasil yang sangat signifikan/beda nyata pada taraf 1 %. Sedangkan Hasil analisis varians kandungan Fe (Besi) pada yoghurt koro benguk putih (Mucuna pruriens) diketahui bahwa Fhitung (137,917) > Ftabel 5% (5,14) dan  Ftabel 1% (10,92) sehingga menunjukan hasil yang sangat signifikan/beda nyata pada taraf 1%.  Kata Kunci : Kultur campur, Serat, Fe (Besi), Koro Benguk (Mucuna pruriens)

Abstract

In the era of globalization, science and technology that growing rapidly causing information flow becomes faster and limitless. This has a direct impact on many areas of life, including education. The process of education is required to prepare and produce quality human resources in order to process the information properly and correctly, by developing a culture of critical thinking. Critical thinking is a must-have capability of Bachelor Program’s graduates in National Standards of Higher Education. Critical thinking is important to students because they can train themselves to be rational and choose the problem’s best solution faced through the knowledge they have. But in fact the students are often still difficult to decide the right solution when faced with a problem around them. This problem must be addressed immediately, because it can lead to decreased quality of education and quality of human resources itself. One way to track and describe critical thinking ability is through the provision of problems related to Biology learning subjects. One of the subjects in Biology learning that deals with many issues around life is Environmental Toxicology. Environmental Toxicology issues can encourage students to find solutions to the dangers of contaminants and the work that can be done to minimize the impact of the contaminants. Application of problems in Environmental Toxicology subjects are in the form of questions listed on written tasks. Each question on written tasks refers to Paul-Elder's critical thinking component and Polya's problem solving.

Abstract

Individuals benefit from science process skills while trying to solve problems through research. To solve these problems individuals must acquire sufficient science process skills. Teachers must be able to understand these skills so that students can obtain the required proficiency. This study aims to determine the science process skills of undergraduate students S1 study Primary School Teacher Education Open University as well as an elementary school teacher in terms of gender and years of service. This quantitative study was conducted with the survey. The study sample consisted of 120 students of S1 study Primary School Teacher Education Open University as well as an elementary school teacher. Researchers obtain study data based on the results of tests of Science Process Skills (SPS). The test consists of 17 questions SPS understanding of the concept of SPS and 25 about the use of SPS. The results of the study revealed that the students SPS Primary School Teacher Education Open University as well as elementary school teachers are not sufficient. It also indicates that the student scores Science process skills Elementary School Teacher Education Program Open University as well as elementary school teachers did not differ significantly by gender and  differed significantly by year of service. This study suggests doing a tutorial model development to develop science process skills of undergraduate students S1 study Primary School Teacher Education Open University as well as an elementary school teacher until the desired level.Keywords:       science process skills, elementary school teacher, gender, year of service
