nterdisciplinary Social Studies (ISS) is an interdisciplinary publication of social studies and writing which publishes papers to international audiences of social researchers. ISS aims to provide a forum for scholarly understanding of social studies and plays an important role in promoting the process that accumulated knowledge, values, and skills are transmitted from one generation to another; and making methods and contents of evaluation and research in social, available to socialist and research workers. The journal encompasses a variety of topics, including education, management, cultural studies, law, social health, psychology, and geography, to economics belonging to the social context. Papers accepted: 1) Report evaluation and original research; 2) Literature review; and 3) An extensive book reviews section on social materials and equipment.

Abstract

This research explores the structure of parents' social actions regarding the zonation policy for new students' admission at SMKN 1 Rejotangan Tulungagung District. The study focuses on the various structures and meanings of the zonation policy, including the New Family Card (KKB), blessings from the school environment (BLS), Keponakan/Niece and Dulur Dewe/Relatives (KDD), Gandheng Gedek or Gandheng Wall (GG/GT), informal entrustment from special persons in government (TWP), special conversations, and special mandate letters from regional government policy makers. According to Max Weber's theory, parents' social actions include taking action with awareness, ensuring they have something right according to the PPDB policy provisions, using methods and techniques, restricting actions to a predetermined time, selecting and assessing actions, hoping for moral principles when making decisions, and learning about social relations between parents and the PPDB committee.

Abstract

Temulawak extract was synthesized using temulawak sodium alginate. The nanoparticle formula was obtained by combining the characteristics of temuwak extract and temusawak. The microbeads were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. The size of Alg-Curcuma was measured at SEM. The particle size distribution of the sample was analyzed using FTIR spectra. The results showed that the size of the resulting beads is microparticle in size. It was found that the temurawak extract is a good candidate as an anticancer agent. Therefore, there are several recommendations that can be done to optimize the synthesis of the material. The study reported that the recommended parameter is 12.5 kV with a flow rate of 0.1 mL/h (first batch synthesis).

Abstract

In Indonesia, the Application-Based Taxis (ABT) operators argue that they are not required to undergo periodic testing, unlike in other countries. This research aims to address this issue by conducting a qualitative study using three approaches: regulatory review, comparison of policies from other countries, and in-depth interviews with ABT company officials and 100 drivers. The study found that 41% of drivers refused to follow the regulation, citing financial burdens. The study proposes that ABT vehicles undergo periodical testing for four years, repeated annually, similar to other countries. Random inspections of ABT vehicles on the road are also recommended to increase awareness of vehicle maintenance, with a focus on tire and brake condition. This study aims to improve the roadworthiness of ABT vehicles in Indonesia.

Abstract

Today's business economic competition encourages companies to maximize the potential of human resources. Ideally, human resources have the capacity, capability, and integrity to maintain resilience in the business world, especially financial companies. However, the reality is that in Semarang City there are still fraud intentions in the form of corruption in employees of one of the banks, which has the potential to reduce company resilience. Job satisfaction is a reflection of workers' attitudes in responding to the work environment, this is related to the level of fraud intentions. This study aims to analyze the effect of job satisfaction on fraud intentions in employees of financial companies in Semarang City. The method used is quantitative-based with data collection techniques in the form of distributing questionnaires to 30 samples. The research data were tested using tests of validity, reliability, normality, linearity, and homoscedasticity. A simple linear regression analysis was performed for the impact of job satisfaction on fraud intensity. The results of this study show that there is a positive influence between job satisfaction and fraud intentions. The suggestion for future research is to extend the research period and take samples from all industries registered in Indonesia in various cities so that the research results can be used as generalizations.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain empirical evidence about the effect of profitability and capital structure moderated by free cash flow on firm value. The research object is a company included in the classification of the raw material industry sector which is listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The variables used as proxies for profitability return on assets (ROA) and return on equity (ROE); the capital structure variable is proxied by the debt to assets ratio (DAR) and the debt to equity ratio (DER), and the firm value is proxied by the price to book value (PBV). While the moderating variable uses free cash flow (FCF). Data analysis used multiple regression with the least squares method, and the sample selection method used purposive sampling. Based on the best model produced in this study, it is proven that free cash flow can significantly strengthen the effect of company profitability proxied by return on assets ROA and return on equity (ROE); the effect of capital structure proxied by DAR on firm value, but not as good as the direct effect of the moderated variables. The study reveals that profitability and capital structure significantly impact firm value, with free cash flow moderated by ROA. However, the model does not outperform direct effects, suggesting improved ROE, DAR management, and effective free cash flow management.
