Abstract

Dementia is a chronic, progressive and irreversible neurobehavioral syndrome disorder, but it is not included in the normal aging process. Dementia affects the patient's independence, so it requires the help of caregivers in daily activities. The burden of care that lasts for a long period of time is prone to causing emotional exhaustion, one of the dimensions of caregiver burnout. This study is a descriptive observational study that uses the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Human Services Survey (MBI-HSS) questionnaire to determine the level of emotional fatigue of caregivers of dementia patients at the Geriatric Polytechnic of Dr. Soetomo Hospital Surabaya during October 2024. This study uses consecutive sampling techniques. Of the 24 study subjects, 13 caregivers (54.2%) experienced low levels of emotional fatigue, 8 people (33.3%) experienced moderate levels of emotional fatigue and 3 people (12.5%) with high levels of emotional fatigue. Based on the results of this study, the emotional fatigue of caregivers of dementia patients at the Geriatric Polyclinic of Dr. Soetomo Surabaya Hospital during October 2024 is at a low level, which predicts a low level of caregiver burnout.

Abstract

The science of Qiraat constitutes a foundational source for Arabic grammatical study (Nahwu). Addressing scholarly polemics regarding variances in Qiraat and its application as qiyas (analogical reasoning) within Arabic grammatical methodology, this research aims to: introduce Qiraat knowledge through its definition, conditions, and historical development; and elucidate its functional benefits for Arabic grammatical methodologies, supplemented by examples. Employing a descriptive-analytical methodology, the researcher presents a surah to demonstrate variant recitations. Through analytical examination, selected Qiraat samples are evaluated as paradigmatic models for methodological application. The study concludes that Qiraat variations originate in narrations from the Prophet's companions (PBUH), subsequently disseminated across Arabian regions including Madinah, Sham, and Basra. These divergent transmissions significantly contributed to the expansion and refinement of Arabic grammatical systems—specifically the science of Nahwu.

Abstract

The reduction of carbon dioxide (CO?) emissions at UIN Walisongo Semarang is a strategic step toward achieving a sustainable campus. This article examines the calculation of residual CO? emissions as a foundation for reducing the carbon footprint at UIN Walisongo Semarang, with a focus on the role of green open spaces in carbon sequestration. The research combines an analysis of CO? emissions from motor vehicles, energy consumption, and building operations, as well as the role of open spaces in carbon storage through photosynthesis and evapotranspiration. The analysis results show that although 82% of the campus area is dedicated to open spaces, CO? emissions remain high, with a 5.3% increase in the carbon footprint from 2020 to 2021. The calculation of residual CO? emissions reveals the significant potential of open spaces in reducing the carbon footprint; however, additional efforts are needed to manage emissions effectively in order to achieve a more environmentally friendly campus. This study provides recommendations for managing open spaces as a climate change mitigation solution at the university.

Abstract

Introduction:Patients undergoing long-term hemodialysis often face not only physiological but also neurological and psychosocial complications. One such neurological manifestation is myoclonic jerks—sudden, involuntary muscle contractions that may reflect underlying biochemical imbalances and are frequently underrecognized. This phenomenon, particularly in patients with comorbid conditions such as hypertension, warrants closer attention due to its potential impact on patient well-being and healthcare outcomes. Methods:This study adopts a qualitative descriptive case study approach with a retrospective review. Clinical data were obtained through medical records, direct observation, and comparative analysis with existing literature. The aim was to explore the interdisciplinary implications of myoclonic movement disorders in the context of chronic kidney disease and long-term hemodialysis. Results:The case involves a 54-year-old male with stage V chronic kidney disease on routine hemodialysis who presented with frequent myoclonic jerks, alongside emergency hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and pulmonary edema. Symptoms were linked to metabolic disturbances and possible neurotoxicity resulting from uremic toxin accumulation. Symptom control was achieved through combined electrolyte correction and pharmacological management using clonazepam. Discussion:The findings suggest that neurological manifestations in hemodialysis patients must be understood through a multidisciplinary lens integrating medical, neurological, and psychosocial perspectives. Early diagnosis and comprehensive management, including patient education, are essential in improving quality of life. This case also underscores the need for further interdisciplinary research into movement disorders among chronically ill populations, especially within healthcare systems facing increased burden of non-communicable diseases.

Abstract

This study discusses the application of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the poultry farming sector, which is increasingly advancing through the integration of machine learning and edge computing to improve production efficiency and animal welfare. However, the cybersecurity aspect of this system remains a major challenge. The study aims to design an IoT security model based on machine learning and edge computing that can detect and prevent anomalies or potential cyberattacks in real-time within smart poultry farming systems. The developed model utilizes environmental and operational data from IoT sensors, which are processed locally using edge devices and analyzed with the Random Forest algorithm for early detection of suspicious activities. In addition to Random Forest, the performance evaluation also involves benchmarking algorithms such as Support Vector Machine (SVM), Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP), and Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost). Initial results show that the combination of Random Forest architecture and edge computing provides the highest anomaly detection accuracy and the lowest processing latency compared to other models, emphasizing the importance of a proactive, artificial intelligence-based security approach in modern agricultural IoT environments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of health promotion through social media, specifically Instagram Reels and TikTok, on improving adolescent attitudes toward the dangers of fashion dental braces usage. This quasi-experimental research used a non-equivalent pre-test post-test control group design with 120 junior high school students aged 12-16 years in Karangroto Village, Genuk District, Semarang City. Respondents were divided into three groups: Instagram Reels intervention group (40 respondents), TikTok intervention group (40 respondents), and control group (40 respondents). Data were collected using validated questionnaires and analyzed using Wilcoxon signed-rank test, Mann-Whitney test, and Kruskal-Wallis test. Results showed significant improvement in positive attitudes from 42.5% to 90% in the Instagram Reels group and from 45% to 95% in the TikTok group. Statistical analysis revealed significant differences in attitude scores before and after intervention (p=0.000) for both intervention groups. However, no significant difference was found between Instagram Reels and TikTok effectiveness (p=0.377). Both intervention groups showed significantly better outcomes compared to the control group (p=0.000). This study concludes that both Instagram Reels and TikTok are effective media for health promotion regarding fashion dental braces dangers among adolescents, with TikTok showing slightly better improvement in attitude scores.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate and examine the influence of Service Quality and Brand Image on Customer Loyalty at the post office in Batam City, specifically regarding the use of parcel delivery services. This research uses primary data, with a sample of 100 respondents who are customers at post offices in Batam City (2025). A questionnaire was used to collect the data, and SPSS version 25 was employed as the analytical tool. Based on the research findings, the decision to use the post office’s delivery services in Batam City is primarily influenced by Customer Loyalty. Meanwhile, Service Quality and Brand Image have a positive but not significant impact. However, Customer Loyalty in using the post office’s parcel delivery services in Batam City is significantly influenced by the cumulative effect of Service Quality, Brand Image, and Customer Loyalty. The novelty of this study lies in its context, as previous research on Customer Loyalty in the logistics and delivery service sector in Indonesia has primarily focused on private courier companies, while studies on state-owned enterprises such as post offices remain limited. By analyzing the interplay of Service Quality, Brand Image, and loyalty in the public postal sector, this research provides a new perspective on how traditional service providers can remain competitive in the digital era, where private couriers and e-commerce platforms dominate.

Abstract

In military organizations, leadership culture is typically instructive and authoritarian, with a single command center. However, leaders of Yonhub Pushubad and Yon 21 Group 2 of Kopassus may use persuasive communication strategies to reduce soldier offenses. This study aims to identify, compare, and synthesize these strategies in suppressing discipline violations at Yonhub Pushubad and Yon 21 Group 2 Kopassus. Employing a qualitative, descriptive method with a multi-site study, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. Analysis revealed that leaders of Yonhub Pushubad applied psychodynamic, psychocultural, and meaning construction persuasive communication strategies to reduce soldier infringements. Similarly, Yon 21 Group 2 Kopassus leaders used the same three strategies to minimize transgressions. Although both units used identical strategy types, their implementation methods differed. The study concludes that leaders of Yon 21 Group 2 Kopassus are more persuasive than those of Yonhub Pushubad, as demonstrated by the greater variety and efficacy of communication strategies employed to maintain discipline. This conclusion is further supported by the lower percentage of soldier offenses in Yon 21 Group 2 Kopassus compared to Yonhub Pushubad between 2018 and 2021.

Abstract

In the era of digital transformation, Digital Content Marketing (DCM) has become a key strategy for increasing B2B customer engagement. Telkomsel Enterprise uses various digital platforms to distribute educational content, product promotions, and case studies supporting the customer journey. However, challenges remain in ensuring that content effectively aligns with customer journey stages to maximize engagement and business outcomes. This research aims to analyze the effect of content–customer journey stage fit on content engagement and firm engagement, while testing the mediating role of content engagement and the moderating effects of social media usage frequency and organizational position. This research employed a quantitative approach using scenario-based online experiments. Data were collected from 420 B2B customers of Telkomsel Enterprise who had been exposed to the company's digital marketing content. Analysis was performed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to examine direct, mediating, and moderating relationships. Results show that perceived content–journey fit significantly increases content engagement, which fully mediates its effect on firm engagement. Social media usage frequency strengthens the impact of content–journey fit on content engagement, while higher organizational position weakens the effect of content engagement on firm engagement.
