Abstract

PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk, Indonesia’s national airline, has experienced prolonged financial distress caused by operational inefficiencies, debt mismanagement, and the significant impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite its strategic role in national connectivity and global reputation, Garuda continues to struggle in maintaining liquidity, solvency, profitability, and asset efficiency. This study aims to assess the company’s financial performance during the 2021–2023 period using key financial ratios. A descriptive quantitative method was employed, analyzing secondary data from the company’s official financial statements. The assessment covered four key ratios: liquidity (quick ratio and operating cash flow ratio), solvency (debt-to-asset and cash flow-to-debt), profitability (return on assets and net profit margin), and activity (total and fixed asset turnover). Results indicate slight improvements in liquidity and solvency, but performance remains below standard benchmarks. Profitability was volatile, with a significant recovery in 2022 followed by a decline in 2023. Asset efficiency remained weak throughout the period. These findings reveal Garuda’s unstable financial condition and the urgency for strategic restructuring. The study highlights the need for improved asset utilization, sustainable cost management, and continued financial monitoring to support recovery. Future research may explore qualitative factors like management strategies and industry dynamics.

Abstract

In today’s competitive global business landscape, optimizing employee performance is essential to sustaining organizational success. However, many companies in Indonesia, including PT. Bumi Menara Internusa Cirebon, face performance challenges due to limited career development programs, inconsistent work motivation, and varying employee competencies. This study aims to examine the influence of career development, work motivation, and competence on employee performance. A quantitative research method was employed using associative analysis with a sample of 142 employees, selected through the Slovin formula. Data were collected via structured questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS 22, including validity tests, reliability tests, multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and determination coefficient analysis. The results show that both career development and competence have a significant positive effect on employee performance, while work motivation does not have a significant effect. Collectively, the three variables account for 56.4% of the variance in performance outcomes. These findings underscore the importance of investing in structured career development and competence-building initiatives, while reevaluating motivational strategies. The study provides actionable insights for HR managers seeking to enhance employee productivity through targeted human capital interventions.

Abstract

The rejection of the marriage itsbat application directly impacts the legal status of the child born, as the parents' marriage is not legally, religiously, or customarily recognized. This study aims to analyze the legal consequences of the rejection on the child's position and examine the determination of the child's origin as a form of legal protection. Using a normative juridical approach, this study analyzes legal materials related to the status of children born from sirri marriages. The results of the study show that children born from sirri marriages only have a legal relationship with their mother. Moreover, if the itsbat application is rejected, the child will not be recognized as the legitimate child of their biological father. This has consequences on the child's access to administrative, inheritance, and guardianship rights. Remarriage also does not alter the child's position because, according to Islamic law, the sirri marriage is invalid and thus rejected by itsbat. As a result, the child remains an out-of-wedlock child. The determination of origin by the court is an alternative protection that allows the inclusion of the biological father's name in the population document and provides limited space for the child's civil rights. These limitations are also reaffirmed in the Fatwa of the Indonesian Ulema Council, which states that the biological father's obligation is limited to providing living support and a mandatory will. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of determining origin as an instrument for the legal protection of children in the national legal system, especially regarding the rejection of the marriage itsbat application.

Abstract

This study examines international humanitarian law in the dynamics of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, which has had a significant impact on the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. The background of this study focuses on the existing fact that the Russian military invasion since February 2022 has caused the largest humanitarian crisis on the European continent. The Russia-Ukraine conflict has resulted in casualties, war injuries, infrastructure damage, and the absence of basic rights such as health care and access to basic necessities. Millions of Ukrainians have fled, both to neighboring countries and within Ukraine to safer locations. The purpose of this study is to analyze the application of international humanitarian law in responding to the Russia-Ukraine conflict and to provide recommendations for the development of more relevant policies in this context. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach through the analysis of legal documents and case studies, with a focus on the humanitarian crisis caused by the dynamics of the Russia-Ukraine conflict since February 2022. This analysis reveals that the principles of international humanitarian law are not fully applied in the context of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The research findings show that the humanitarian crisis in this conflict is quite concerning and requires UN intervention. Based on these findings, this study recommends that the UN urge Russia to implement a ceasefire with Ukraine and to ensure the realization of international humanitarian law protection in humanitarian corridors based on international agreements and supervised by the UN, in order to evacuate civilians and distribute humanitarian aid.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of affiliate marketing strategies carried out by influencers on Generation Z's purchasing decisions on the TikTok platform. Through a qualitative approach with a case study method, data was collected through in-depth interviews with 10 TikTok influencers, questionnaires of 50 Generation Z respondents, content observation, and analysis of related documents. The results show that trust in influencers, content quality, and special offers (such as discounts) are the dominant factors influencing Generation Z's purchasing decisions. Authentic, entertaining, and informational content—such as tutorials or product reviews—has been shown to be more effective in increasing audience engagement than conventional promotions. These findings are in line with previous research that emphasized the importance of transparency and social proof in digital marketing, but this study enriches the literature with a specific focus on the mechanism of affiliate marketing on TikTok. The practical implications of this study include recommendations for businesses to choose influencers that are relevant to the target market, increase content transparency, and take advantage of economic incentives. For academics, this research provides a new perspective on the dynamics of business communication on short content-based social media platforms. The study's main limitation lies in its limited scope on TikTok and Generation Z, so further research is needed to compare the effectiveness of similar strategies on other platforms or different generations.

Abstract

The Sangiran site in Central Java, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996, is a pivotal paleontological location renowned for its prehistoric fossils. While this designation has spurred economic growth through tourism, it has also introduced challenges such as cultural commodification and spatial inequality. This study examines the dual impact of UNESCO recognition on Sangiran, focusing on the tensions between economic development and cultural preservation. Using a qualitative approach and the Cultural Political Economy of Heritage (CPEH) framework, the research analyzes secondary data from official reports, scholarly articles, and media to explore these dynamics. Findings reveal that while tourism has boosted local incomes, benefits are unevenly distributed, favoring communities near the museum cluster. Additionally, cultural practices risk being simplified for tourist consumption, threatening intangible heritage. Governance remains top-down, marginalizing local voices in decision-making. The study concludes that UNESCO status presents both opportunities and risks, necessitating inclusive policies to balance economic gains with cultural integrity. Key recommendations include enhancing community participation, equitable benefit-sharing, and safeguarding intangible heritage.

Abstract

Women's political representation in Indonesia continues to face gender-based challenges, including social expectations, leadership stereotypes, and pressures related to multiple roles. This study aims to explore how female politicians interpret and respond to these challenges through impression management strategies, and how they develop psychological resilience within a gender-biased political environment. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with six female politicians from various political levels and party backgrounds. The findings reveal that female politicians are aware of the conflicting expectations they face—being expected to appear feminine while simultaneously demonstrating assertiveness as leaders. In response, they employ various impression management strategies such as ingratiation, exemplification, and self-promotion in an adaptive and context-sensitive manner, aligned with conservative and religious sociopolitical settings. Despite emotional pressures stemming from gender stereotypes, they exhibit resilience through social support, emotion regulation, and strong intrinsic motivation. This study highlights that impression management is not merely a tool for maintaining public image but also a means of negotiating gender identity and roles within political spaces. These findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the psychological dynamics of female leadership and support the development of a more inclusive and gender-equitable political environment.

Abstract

People work in various types of jobs, such as foremen, labourers, farmers, etc.; they can encounter accidents at their workplace, and sometimes it may become a liability if someone gets hurt. One of these injuries is blunt trauma, which results from a mechanical force generated by a blunt object that interacts over some area. Most factory workers in these industries have experienced a history of occupational accidents, especially blunt trauma (up to 60% of overall workers in this workplace) in the Karangbesuki Sanitary Industry Center, Malang. Therefore, being able to quickly understand what workplace safety entails is important to promote safety; however, this knowledge may be quite limited when dealing with accident prevention. This article is intended to analyze the influence of occupational safety knowledge on efforts to prevent blunt trauma workplace accidents in the Sanitary Industry Center of Karangbesuki in Malang City. This was a descriptive cross-sectional study involving 42 workers at the Karangbesuki Sanitary Industry in Malang City. Data collection was carried out through the distribution of questionnaires. The analysis of the data was conducted using IBM SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) software. Occupational safety knowledge has a significant effect on the incidence of blunt trauma workplace events, with the result that the probability is 0.00 < 0.05. It can be concluded that knowledge of occupational safety is very necessary so that incidents of blunt trauma in the workplace at the Sanitary Industry Center, Karangbesuki, Malang City, do not occur.
