Abstract

This article sought to examine the ways in which secondary school principals support School Management Teams (SMTs) in carrying out their duties as instructional leaders. How can principals empower the SMTs is the main thesis of this article. The emphasis will be on principals' experiences carrying out their instructional leadership responsibilities in the South African province of Gauteng's Tshwane-West District. The thesis of this essay is that when principals fail to fulfill their obligations to support the school administration, student performance does not increase. Therefore, it becomes an issue if the administrator is not held responsible for raising student and teacher performance levels in the classroom. Design, method, and strategy A questionnaire was used to obtain the data. Through a thorough application of the knowledge gathered from the literature study, the questionnaire's content was made to hold up. To validate the questionnaire, a pilot study was done. The triangulation of data from many sources, including focus-group interviews and the questionnaire, served as the primary method of reliability in this study. Principals of secondary schools in South Africa's Gauteng province's Tshwane-West District made up the study's sample. All 55 secondary schools located in the Tshwane West District were included in the study using the total sample methodology.

Abstract

Online learning has grown in popularity in Indonesia, particularly among people looking to gain new skills or improve their existing knowledge. The COVID-19 epidemic has exacerbated this tendency by necessitating the use of remote learning approaches. This study aims to discover students' initial expectations when they enroll UMN and the reality after they become UMN online learning students The urgency of this research is based on the fact that the dropout rate at UMN is roughly 28%. Dropout may be harmful to both the individual student and the institution, thus it is critical to address the underlying reasons of dropout and develop effective ways to encourage student success and retention. The gap between expectation and reality is crucial to understand because it can influence the creation or modification of policies designed to protect students from dropping out. This qualitative research applies data collection using FGDs involving 40 UMN online learning program students. One of the most interesting findings from this research is that online learning students were surprised to learn about the SKKM policy, which they did not expect. The majority of students who are workers admitted that it was difficult to set aside time to do additional activities to collect SKKM points.

Abstract

Oil palm fronds are waste from the harvesting process that is routinely carried out by oil palm plantation business actors. Oil palm fronds can be obtained throughout the year along with harvesting fresh fruit bunches.Based on availabilitycontinuously, palm fronds can be used as processed products, one of which is as an alternative feed for ruminants as a substitute for grass so that it can be used as animal feed. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential of palm fronds and leaves as goat feed in Nagan Raya district. This research was conducted in Nagan Raya Regency in several stages, namely demand and availability, internal and external conditions. Based on the results of the study it can be seen that the average feed requirement per 1 year old goat ready for slaughter in Nagan Raya Regency is around 990 kg. In a month, goats need as much as 90 kg of feed with a composition that is usually done by goat breeders as much as 40% grass and 60% palm fronds and leaves so that in 1 Ha of Oil Palm Plantation it can meet <52 goats (composition of 60% Palm feed = 54 kg , 40% grass feed = 36 kg). It can be seen that the development of goat farming will be influenced by various conditions, namely internal and external. This condition can be seen by using a SWOT analysis to find out what are the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats for farmers. External conditions on goat farms are everything that is outside of the condition of the livestock that can affect the sustainability of the livestock business.

Abstract

This research was conducted in the Krueng Kereuto watershedfrom October - November 2022. The objectives of this study were: to assess the suitability of land for oil palm plantations, to examine the effect of oil palm-based farming types on erosion and to analyze agrotechnology. The observation locations are on land map units 1, 3, 4, 5, 20, 21, 24, 25, 26, 27 and 28. The research method used in this research is a survey method which consists of four stages, namely: 1) the preparation stage 2) preliminary survey stage, 3) main survey stage and 4) data analysis and results presentation stage. The results showed that the assessment of land suitability for oil palm plantations in the Krueng Keureto watershed consisted of a moderately suitable class (S2) and a marginal suitable class (S3), with the limiting factor for oxygen availability (oa), namely obstructed drainage, nutrient retention limiting factor (nr) namely base saturation, pH and C-organic and the limiting factor for erosion hazard (eh) is the slope. The results of the erosion calculation show that the highest erosion prediction value occurs in the use of mixed gardens and shrubs. The predictive value of erosion on scrub land use (SST 3, 4, 5) ranged from 11.82 - 192.04 tonnes ha-1yr-1. This value is still far above the tolerable erosion value (ETol), which is 21.50 - 24.96 tons ha-1 year-1. Erosion prediction on mixed garden land use (SST 1, 20 and 21) ranges from 27.50 - 365.38 ton ha-1 year-1, this prediction value is still above the ETol value, namely 15.50 – 20.40 tons ha-1 year-1.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze Social Sciences (IPS) in multicultural education after populism and identity politics in Indonesia. Populism and identity politics that occurred during Indonesian politics in 2014, 2017 and 2019 have damaged the harmony of national, state and social life. Even students are also the target of populism and identity politics which can be seen in expressions on social media or hate speech. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method with data collection through document analysis, literature study, observation and interviews. The results of the study show that the role, function and position of Social Sciences in schools is very strategic in minimizing the dangers and threats of populism and identity politics that target students in schools. Because the goal of IPS is to make students good citizens, develop critical thinking skills, develop intelligence and social skills, live up to moral values, and be multicultural. This is the strength of IPS in minimizing the dangers and threats of populism and identity politics, and schools and teachers should utilize the power of IPS to improve students' multiculturalism.
