Abstract

Stunting is a significant highlight in Indonesia because it is continually rising. Factor pattern of bad parenting and inappropriate infant feeding is a risk cause of stunting. The purpose of this research is to analyze the connection pattern parenting and patterns of provision of food to the incidence of stunting in infants. This research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. This research was conducted in the Health Center Cipadung working area in January- March 2022. The research population is mothers with toddlers. A sample of 84 respondents was taken randomly. The instruments used are a measuring tool height and a questionnaire. Data analysis used the chi-square test. The research showed that pattern parenting (p=0.045 and POR=2.9) and pattern feeding (p=0.014 and POR=3.3) are associated with stunting. Parenting and patterns of feeding are related to the incidence of stunting. Good maternal parenting can prevent children from experiencing stunting and feeding; if mothers provide the right food for their children, then children can be spared from stunting.

Abstract

WHO defines stunting in the Global Nutrition Targets 2025 as an irreversible growth disorder primarily driven by inadequate nutritional intake and infections that occur repeatedly in the first 1000 days of life. Reducing stunting rates is the primary goal of the six goals in the 2025 Global Nutrition Targets. Stunting is also a vital indicator of the second goal of sustainable development, namely, no hunger. As many as 149.2 million toddlers (22%) worldwide were stunted in 2020. Southeast Asia has as many as 10.8 million toddlers (13.9%). This study analyzes the determinants of toddler stunting in Lubuklinggau City in 2022. The method used is an analytic observational research design with a case-control approach. Data were collected using a questionnaire on 71 stunted respondents and 71 respondents who were not stunted through the Cluster Random Sampling technique. The population to be studied was divided into sub-populations (clusters). A sample was selected for each cluster by random sampling. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that the variables Gender, Low Birth Weight, History of Exclusive Breastfeeding, Maternal Age at Birth, Parents' Income, History of ANC, and History of Infectious Diseases had a significant relationship affecting the incidence of stunting in toddlers in Lubuklinggau City in 2022. The results of the multivariate analysis test also show that parents' income is the most dominant factor influencing toddler stunting incidence in Lubuklinggau City in 2022.

Abstract

Pulp disease is caused by bacteria that cause tooth decay in the form of caries. These bacteria can penetrate the pulp through the gaps in the dentine, and develop in the dentinal tubules so that the permeability of the dentinal tubules decreases. Reversible pulpitis is a type of pulp disease, which if left untreated will develop into irreversible pulpitis. Pulp capping treatment as a treatment for non medicament aims to maintain the pulp to remain vital by reducing the inflammatory process. Macrophages as a marker that can be used as a sign when inflammation occurs. Pulp capping treatment usually use calcium hydroxide and Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA) as material agent. Duck egg shells contain calcium carbonate and Mineral Trioxide Aggregate has an effectiveness over calcium hydroxide. the purpose of this study is to determine the difference in the number of macrophages in reversible pulpitis using duck egg nanohydroxyapatite (NHA) and MTA. this research is an in vivo laboratory experimental post test only control design with 27 research samples which one control group and two experiment group. The independent variables are duck egg nanohydroxyapatite and MTA, and the dependent variable is differences in the number of macrophages. there were significant differences in the three groups, where the average value of macrophage formation was lowest in the group of rats that were applied to MTA and followed by the NHA group. Meanwhile, the control group, the reversible pulpitis rat group without medicament application, had the highest average score. The application of MTA as a pulp capping medicament can reduce macrophages in reversible pulpitis using rats Sprague Dawley.
