Abstract

A notary is a public official who has the authority to make authentic deeds, in addition to other authorities determined by law. At the time UUJN no. 30 of 2004, a debate arose regarding the authority of notaries in making deeds relating to land. The purpose of this research is to find out how effective the role and responsibilities of notaries are as executors of land registration in Indonesia using normative juridical methods by inventorying, reviewing and analyzing and understanding the law as a set of positive norms in the legal system that regulates the role of notaries. This explains that, in the land registration process as stated in PP No. 24 of 1997, that the person who assists the Head of the Land Office is PPAT, notaries are not mentioned as officials who can also help make deeds used for land registration, however there are several deeds which PPAT is not authorized to make so they must use notarial deeds for or as basic land registration. In carrying out land registration activities, the role and responsibility of a notary is very large, this is related to the function of the deed made by the PPAT, namely as proof that a certain legal act has been carried out and as a basis for land registration carried out at the land office. So without a deed made by the PPAT, it will be very difficult to carry out land registration data maintenance activities, because in carrying out land registration activities, the PPAT deed is a binding requirement.

Abstract

This study depicts moral values in English Language Teaching (ELT) textbooks. This research aimed to examine and articulate the moral principles in English textbooks endorsed by the government. This study used a descriptive-qualitative approach using a content analysis strategy. The researcher used the documentation approach to gather data. The statistics were obtained from English Senior High School textbooks endorsed by the Ministry of National Education. The data were evaluated using the analytical framework developed by Miles et al. (2014), which included three main stages: (a) data condensation, (b) data presentation, and (c) conclusion. The result showed that this book covered all of the eighteen moral values embedded by the Ministry of National Education. Nevertheless, improvement is still needed because the eighteen moral values are distributed unevenly across five units, along with two concluding units.

Abstract

The study aims to investigate the cultural representation of the EFL Textbook mandated by the Indonesian government in the Merdeka Curriculum for 10th-grade students. The frameworks used for the analysis are Moran's (2001) theory of five dimensions of culture (products, practices, perspectives, communities, and persons) and Chao's (2011) theory of cultural categories (target culture, source culture, international culture, intercultural communication, and universality across culture). Qualitative content analysis is used as the research method. The study's primary data is an English textbook titled Bahasa Inggris: Work in Progress, published by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture (2022) as delivered in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. The results show that the represented cultural dimensions in the textbook are products (34%), practices (31%), persons (15%), perspectives (13%), and communities (7%). Whereas, for the cultural categories, the result shows that the textbook represents the international culture (32%), source culture (29%), universality across cultures (20%), target culture (16%), and intercultural interaction (3%). Therefore, all cultural dimensions and cultural categories are represented in the textbook with different frequencies. However, the textbook needs improvement regarding the consistency of the cultural dimensions and categories.
