Abstract

In 2013 curriculum, science teaching should be implemented in integrated  form in Junior High School. The real conditions show that integrated science teaching in school can’t implemented well. An alternative solution of this problem is to apply the integrated science textbook in adaptive contextual teaching model. The objective of this research was to investigate the effect of integrated science textbook on our digestive health theme in adaptive contextual teaching model toward the competences of the grade VIII students in  SMPN 15 Padang. The type of research was quasi experimental research with one group pretest-posttest design. Samples in this research were taken by using the purposive sampling technique. The research instruments consist of observation sheet for attitude competency, written test for knowledge competency and performance assessment for skill competency. Data of this research were analyzed by using descriptive statistical analysis and compare mean test for attitude, knowledge, and skill competences. The results of data analysis show that the implementation of integrated science textbook on our digestive health theme in adaptive contextual teaching model gives significant effect on the attitude, the knowledge and the skill competences at 95 % level confidence of grade VIII students in VIII SMPN 15 Padang.

Abstract

The problem that underlies this research is the less optimal of practice implementation because of the limitations of tools and time implementation. Solution to help the implementation of the real practicum is to implement virtual laboratory. There have been several virtual laboratory related physics materials available on the internet such as phet. It's just not been able to be used by students because there is no worksheet that support the application for use on practicum activities. Therefor, the researcher develops student’s worksheet for virtual laboratory through ICT to support student practicum activity on dynamic fluid material, temperature and heat, and gas kinetic theory for XI grade. The research includes research and development (R & D) with 4D model. This study consists of 4 steps that are limited to the third step, namely define, design, and develop. The object of the research is student’s worksheet for virtual laboratory through ICT on dynamic fluid material, temperature and heat, and gas kinetic theory which tested to grade XI student of SMA Negeri 1 Padang. Based on data analysis that has been done can be presented two research results. First, student’s worksheet based on virtual laboratory is in valid category with validation value 77,14. Second, the practicality category of student’s worksheet based on virtual laboratory is very practical with practical value according to teacher 88,46 and practicality value according to student 86,40.

Abstract

The achievement of students' physics competency get increasing by using one oflesson material that have variation and learning model which can increase the student's activity learning. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of using module by orientation the guidance inquiry learning model into materiall momentum and harmonic movement toward achievement of physic compentency at X grade students of SMAN 2 Padang Panjang This research categorized Pre-Experimental Design with the plan of One Shot Case Study. The population are all of the X grade students of SMA N 2 Padang Panjang in academic year 2016/2017. The sample determined by using purposive sampling technique. The data of this research include the achievement of attitude competency, knowledge, and skill. These get from assessment observation sheet, then described and analysis into graph from. The data of knowledge competency achievement got from post test. The data of skill competency achievement got from assessment sheet work show. Then, the data of competency knowledge achievement and skill connected with learning score at using module by orientation the guidance inquiry learning model. The data of knowledge competition achievement and skill analyzed by using simple linear regression test and the connection of two variable test. After doing the research then continue with analyze the reasearch data, it can be concluded that the using of module by orientation guidance inquiry learning get significant influencing toward the students' achievement physics competency at class X SMA N 2 Padang Panjang. At attitude competency shows the good result although it got the score change at each meeting. The use of module by orientation guidance inquiry learning model get influence into knowledge competency achievement as percentage as 21,26% and the skill competency achievement as percentage as 20,27%

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to produce a virtual laboratory based LKS through ICT on material there are digital technology, compton effect, and atomic nucleus by knowing the value of validity and practicality. Type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) using research step by Sugiyono with research steps that is first to know potency and problem, gather information, design product, validate design, improve design, test product, product revision, trial usage product, product manufacture. The object of this research is LKS based on virtual laboratory through ICT. Based on data analysis, there are three research results. First, the design of LKS based on virtual laboratory through ICT. Second, the average validity value of experts with a value of 89.79 with criteria is very valid. Third, the average value of practicality by teachers with a value of 87.22 with very practical criteria. It can be concluded that the LKS based on virtual laboratory through ICT is very valid and very practical for use in physics learning of SMA XII class.

Abstract

In Physics learning, students' thinking ability is still low. This is felt when students are given problems to be solved, such as solving problems related to high-order thinking skills. This study aims to determine the effect of teaching materials oriented problem solving on the achievement of HOTS students class X SMA N 12 Padang. This research belongs to a kind of quasi experiment with Posttest Only Control Group Design research design. The population of this study is all students of grade X SMA N 12 Padang registered in the academic year 2017/2018. Sampling was conducted by using Cluster Random Sampling technique to get class X IPA 1 as experiment class and class X IPA 5 as control class. The data collected are two primary and secondary data. Primary data in the form of data result of teaching materials and final test data. Secondary data is documentation data obtained through Physics teacher and administration. The data obtained were processed using t test and correlation test. after fulfilling normality, homogeneity and linearity. Furthermore the correlation test can be performed after the data is normally distributed and satisfies the linear relationship. According to the results of data analysis found the results as follows. There is an effect of 51% of problem-oriented teaching materials to solving HOTS students. Thus the working hypothesis which reads "there is a meaningful influence of the problem solve oriented learning material toward the achievement of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in Physics learning in grade X SMA N 12 Padang" is acceptable.

Abstract

Characteristics of learning in high school physics material contain the needs of learners to think critically. The reality in the field showed Padang 8 senior high school exercise of learning physics is already using the materials, but not yet apply critical thinking ability of studensts. One of the solutions can be taken by develope  learning materials which there learning model with increase critical thinking ability. This research has purrpose  to produce learning materials improved critical thinking ability in material measurement and a decent vector with validity and practicalities. This includes research was conducted type of Research and development (R&D). Type of this research was a research and development by Sugiyono’s model. Data analysis techniques used, namely the analysis of the validity of the product and the analysis of the responses of teachers and students towards products. The resulting research products are on a very valid criteria with an average value of 88.58% and the response of teachers and students towards products that generated very good.

Abstract

Physical learning is related to practicum activities. Practicum is conducted by students using virtual laboratory. practicum activities that using virtual laboratory, requires student worksheet (LKS) and guided inquiry model. The purpose of the using LKS assisted virtual laboratory in learning guided inquiry is to see the effect on the student competences of class X SMA Negeri 5 Padang. The type of the research is quasi experiment with posstest only. Population of the research is the students of class X SMA Negeri 5 Padang academic year 2017/2018. Sampling technique using purposive sampling technique. The research was conducted on student competences, namely attitude, knowledge, and skill competencies. Instrument of research used observation sheet for attitude competency, postest for knowledge competence, and performance rating sheet for competency skill. The research data were analyzed by t test. The t test is performed for the competence of knowledge and skill, while for the attitude competence is analyzed using graph. The result of data analysis for the student competences after using LKS assisted by virtual laboratory in learning guided inquiry, the result obtained as follows: 1) the average value of physics learning result in attitude competence has continuous improvement, 2) the average value of physics learning result at both sample classes are 83.82 and 79.52 for knowledge competence; 3) average physics learning outcomes in both sample classes are 85.71 and 82.06 for skill competencies.

Abstract

ABSTRACTLow achievement of students competence are caused by lack of motivation for problem solving abilities of students. Problem-solving abilities on competence of knowledge is least students who are able to answer questions above the level of C3(aplication). Competence of skill is only some students who are able to problem solving with scientifi and have difficulties in solving the existing problems on teaching of  student worksheet, that affecting achievement of student competence. Student motivation in problem solving can be enhanced by learning that is contextual, authentic and close to student life that is by integrating real problem and emerging issue into student learning process. Environmental problems faced by human is the limitation of energy in fulfilling their needs, while the province of West Sumatra is one of the provinces that have the potential of geothermal energy source because it is on the path of the volcano that should be developed and educate students in energy savings. The LKS is designed to integrate geothermal energy materials using the Reasoning and Problem Solving learning model. The purpose of the study, to investigate whether there is influence and how much contribution integrated geothermal energy LKS to the achievement of student competence. The type of research is quasi experiment and randomized control group design design that the study population is X class MIA students registered in the even semester of academic year 2016/2017. The sample was taken by purposive sampling technique. The research instrument is the final test to measure knowledge competence, observation sheet, self-assessment, and peer assessment to measure attitude competence, skill competency appraisal sheet to measure skill competence, and LKS assessment sheet. The data analysis used two-point equality test, linear regression test, and correlation test.Based on the data analysis, the students' knowledge, attitude and skill in the experimental class were 89.96; 84.85; 87.21 and control classes respectively 84.96; 82.98; 82,71. From t test, obtained t count> ttable so that null hypothesis rejected and alternative hypothesis accepted. With correlation test, the contribution of geothermal energy integrated LKS is 36,40% in knowledge competence, 33,64% on attitude competence, and 54,78% on skill competence. Based on the result, it can be concluded that there is influence and contribution of integrated LKS geothermal energy material to the achievement of students' competence to real level 0,05 on temperature material, calorie and optics in class X SMAN 12 Sijunjung..

Abstract

The low creative thinking skill Students SMAN 12 Padang one of the causes is the students tend to passively in the learning because of learning centered on educators. Therefore, research is done in order to give one solution by applying Problem Solving Approach Model SSCS. Learning with Problem Solving approach SSCS model enables learners to be actively involved and engage in creative thinking processes. Implementation of problem solving in learning process will stimulate and develop creative thinking skill. This research has a goal for investigate the influence of solution to problem Approach Model SSCS Against Creative Thinking Skill of Students on Matter of Equilibrium and Elasticity of Class XI SMAN 12 Padang. To achieve research objectives,We have done using quasi-experiments. The object of this research is the learner of classification XI MIA in SMAN 12 Padang register in the academic year 2017/2018. Sampling in this research based on Purposive Sampling technique. The result obtained in the form of data creative thinking skills that are seen in the results of knowledge competence. The research instrument is a final test sheet in the form of essay knowledge competence. Technique of data analysis through equality test of two mean with t test statistic on knowledge competence. After obtaining the data, the researcher sees a difference from the average creative thinking skill between the two sample classes. The experiment class has an average of 72.09. The average is higher than the control class. The control class has an average of 68.72. The result of tcount test 2,3807 with ttable 2.0003 shows thitung is outside the acceptance area of Ho, meaning that Hi is accepted, there is a significant influence of Problem Solving Model SSCS Against Creative Thinking Skill of Student on Matter of Equilibrium and Elasticity of Class XI SMAN 12 Padang at a significant level of 0.05.
