Abstract

Learning media is everything in the form of physical and technical in the learning process that can assist teachers in making it easier to convey subject matter to students so as to facilitate the achievement of learning objectives that have been formulated by the teacher. The purpose of this development research is to develop a Powtoon-based mathematics learning media on set material. This study uses the ADDIE research method with five stages of development, namely analysis, planning, development, implementation and evaluation. However, the research was modified from 5 stages to 3 stages, namely analysis, design, and development. The subjects in this research and development were seventh grade students of SMP IT Muhammadiyah Simpang Empat, two material experts consisting of a material expert lecturer and a mathematics teacher as a validator of the feasibility of learning media, one media expert, namely a media expert lecturer. The result of this research is mathematics learning media in the form of animation video based on Powtoon. The feasibility of the media is said to be valid by material experts and media experts and gets a good response. Based on the results of data analysis, the average value obtained from material experts is 4.52 and media experts is 4.6. From these results it can be stated that the mathematics learning media meets the validity requirements of the learning media and is included in the very good category.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of mathematical communication skills of seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 43 Medan with a realistic mathematics learning approach that is innovated with ethnomathematics. This research is a quantitative research and the population is all class VII, where for class VII-1 as the experimental class and for class VII-2 as the control class, each sample consists of 25 people. From the results of the pre-test data analysis the experimental class is still relatively low with an average value of 52.8 and for the control class it has an average value of 34.4. The results of the post-test data analysis for the experimental class had an increase which obtained an average value of 81.6 and for the post-test class, an average value of 53.2 was obtained. And get the value of x^2 count = 3.864 and x^2 table = 5.991. So, it can be said that all sample groups come from a homogeneous population. From the results of the explanation above, it can be concluded that there is an increase in students' mathematical communication skills with a realistic mathematics learning approach with ethnomathematical nuances

Abstract

The formulation of the problem from this research is Is the development of LKPD based on a scientific approach on matrix material in high school feasible to use? How are students' responses to LKPD based on a scientific approach to matrix material? as the purpose of this study is to determine whether the development of LKPD based on a scientific approach to matrix material in high school is feasible to use. To be able to find out how students respond to LKPD based on a scientific approach to matrix material. This research is a research and development Research and Development (R&D) that uses a 4D development model which consists of 4 stages, namely the definition stage, the design stage, the develop stage, and the dissemination stage. However, in this study, the researchers only limited it to the 3D stage, namely define, design and develop. The instrument in this study was a questionnaire sheet for the expert feasibility test. Based on the validation results from the validator, the LKPD assessment scores were obtained by two expert lecturers and one mathematics teacher with an average percentage value of 79% and categorized as "Eligible". For student responses to LKPD based on a scientific approach to matrix material, the average percentage value is 86% and is categorized as "Very Good". It can be concluded that the LKPD based on a scientific approach to the matrix material developed by the researcher is feasible to be used as additional teaching material for students.
