Abstract

Phytoplankton is a very important microorganisms in pond, it has a function asprimary producer, natural fish food and as supporting water quality parameters.Phytoplankton growth could be supported by adding fertilizer. One of the best fertilizerthat could be used is liquid organic fertilizer. This research was conducted on June 1-28,2009 at the Water Quality Management Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and MarineScience, University of Riau. The aim of this research was to investigate the effect ofaddition of liquid organic fertilizer toward phytoplankton abundance. Completerandomly design with one factor, six treatments and three replications was applied. Resultshowed that positive relationship between concentrations of liquid organic fertilizer andphytoplankton abundance. Liquid organic fertilizer concentrations applied were : P0(Control), P1 (0,133 ml/m3), P2 (0,244 ml/m3), P3 (0,511 ml/m3), P4 (1,00 ml/m3) and P5(2,00 ml/m3). Result showed that the best abundance was obtained from P5 (2,00 ml/m3)with phytoplankton abundance was 21667 ind/l. The organic material of soil content from3,820-8,631 %, nitrate concentration 0,234-2,605 ppm, temperature 24-320C, pH of water(6,1-7,9), DO 3,0-5,3 ppm, turbidity 38-228 NTU, CO2 11,99-50,40 ppm andorthoposphate concentration 0,099-0,427 ppm.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the potential of capture fisheries resources by calculating the economic value of analyzing the economic value of Lake Kajuik fishery resources. Research Methods by Identifying Potential Fishery Resources and Effect of Production (EoP) Method with Consumer Surplus Approach. This research was conducted on May - June 2017 at Kajuik Lake, Langgam District, Pelalawan Regency with 30 respondents with lake 42,5 ha and 22,5 ha wide. The result of the research concludes that in calculating the economic value of capture fishery resources by using Effect of Production (EoP) calculation with consumer surplus value (CS) is obtained Rp 25,017,747  per fisherman per year. The economic value of fisheries capture fishery resources of Lake Kajuik is obtained at Rp 46,699,794 per hectare.

Abstract

This study was aimed to Analyzed the Fe supplementation on gonadal maturity of selais, then to Analyzed the effect of culture system to accelerate gonadal maturation of selais, and the last aimed was to Analyzed the interaction between culture system with Fe amount. The method used is an experimental method. The design with two factors: the Fe Supplementation and culture system. Factor 1 is the feed formulation with 4 supplementation levels of Fe (synthetic), Fe From shell, Fe supplementation from anchovies and control without the Fe supplementation. Factor 2 is culture system which are stagnant ad flowing water. The results showed that Fe supplementation and culture systems affect the fish growth, but their interaction was not significant. The best treatment was obtained in the treatment of Fe supplementation from shellfish and water flowing systems.

Abstract

Primary factor supporting effective management seed of fish and prawnisqualified natural feed avaibility. Natural feeds used in hatcheryseed for exampleArtemia salina as larva of fish and prawn food’s. One of the factorthat influencingculture growth of Artemia salina is feed. Artemia Salina in nature exploit the feedsuch mikroalga , bacterium, and other organic detritus that hasnutrient content forits growth and sizematching with its mouth. So that mikroalga can be madealternative feed of Artemia salina culture. Various type of mikroalga can be usedas feed like Chaetoceros sp, Skeletonema Costatum and Nannochloropsis oculata.The Mikroalga is very compatible as feed for Artemia salina growth, because hasgood nutrient content. But we have’nt known yet, which most compatible tooptimum growth of artemia.Aim of this research result is to analyzenatural feed of three microalga(Chaetoceros Sp, Skeletonema Costatum and Nannochlropsis oculata) that haveeffect to Artemia Salina growth. Gift of food Chaetoceros sp represent the besttreatment with the long accretion storey;l evel of mean assess 2,99 micron,treatment B of mean 2,76 micron and treatment C represent the treatment 2,57micron. Analyze the data by statistic also indicated that gift different mikroalgaaffect long growth of Artemia Salina.Keywords: Artemia salina, Microalgae

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the inhibition zones of the chitosan against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Carapace from T. anomala is used as raw material of chitosan. There were 5 treatments used, namely positive control (K0+), negative control (K0-), 5% chitosan (K1), 7% chitosan (K2) and 9% (K3) chitosan. The carapace was taken and then washed, dried, refined, demineralization, de-preoteinated, deasitelation and was tested using double layer method, discs and well diffusion. The proximate carapace test results were as follows, water content was 68.18 % gross wight (gw), moisture content 11.77 % dry wight (dw) protein content, 2.35 %dw fat content, 84.43 %dw ash content and carbohydrate content was 1.45 %dw. The chitosan of T. anomala characteristics were yellowish white flakes, odorless and tasteless with yield value, moisture content, ash content, mineral content (Ca, Fe, K, Na, P) and the degree of deacetylation 27.51 %; 7.31 %gw; 3.40 %dw; 12.17 mg/L; 4.90 mg/L; 3.40 mg/L; 5.49 mg/L; 0.27 mg/L; and 73.43 % respectively , Results on antimicrobial sensivity tests using double layer, disk blank and well diffusion. Shown clear zone, 13.87 mm, 11.34 mm and 14.62 mm. these values indicate that the antimicrobial effect of the chitosan is strong.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of Artemiasp enrichment with vitamin and selco emulsionson the growth and survivalrate of goldfishlarval(Carassiusauratus). This research conducted experiments with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD).Hatched Artemianauplii that had been enriched with vitamin and selco emulsions for 2 hours of treatment A (enrichment artemianauplii with vitamins dose of 0,25 ml/L), treatment B (enrichment artemianauplii with selco emulsions dose of 0,25 ml/L), treatment C (enrichment artemianauplii with vitamins and selco emulsions each dose of 0,125 ml/L) and treatment D (without enrichment as control). The results showed that Artemia enrichment with vitamin and selco emulsionsgave significant result (P < 0.05) on the growth and survival of larvae goldfish. Where the best results obtained at the treatment B with survival (36,6 %), absolute growth in length (6,49 mm) and daily specific grothw rate (13,53 %). So it can be concluded that the best treatment for the growth and survival is on Artemia enrichment with selco emulsions dose of 0.25 ml/L.

Abstract

The research was conducted in Panglima Raja Village ConcongSubdistrict Indragiri Hilir Regency of Riau Province. It was aimed to identify ofrule institution that relationship with local wisdom. The research was done by casestudy or gounded research method.The result of research showed that there were no rule of custom institutionto exploiting and conservation of coastal zone resources in Panglima RajaVillage. The rule of village government institution as decision maker to legality oflocal wisdom value. But not yet maximum to legalize value, norm of localwisdom in society Panglima Raja Village become law of legal formal, becouse themake of rule do not acomodation participatory local wisdom.

Abstract

Kryptopterus apogon is one of the freshwater fishes that inhabit the Danau Baru oxbow lake. This study aimed to understand the stomach content of the fish living in the lake and also to understand its reproductive biology during the period of December-February 2017.The number of fish captured were 45 fishes ( 24 females and 21 males). The stomach content was analyzed using a gravimetry method, while its reproductive biology was noted.  K. apogon is as carnivorous fish and the types of food present in the stomach was fish (98.644%) as main food, crustaceans (0.940%) and insects (0.001%) as additional food. Mature fishes (13 females and 14 males) present throughout the research period, but the peak of reproductive activities occurred in February.  The Maturity Index of female ranged from 0.09-5.45% and that of the male was 0.07-0.18%. The fecundity of the fish was 36.075-540.72 eggs (in 340-690 mm TL and 197.5-1.725 gr BW females). This fish is total spawner,  and the diameter of eggs from the anterior, middle and posterior parts of the ovary was around 0.866 mm. These fish tend to consume fish during its gonad development.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe Study was conducted in July 2012 by taking seawater and sediment samples from Telaga Tujuh Karimun Regency of Riau Islands Province . The purpose of this study was to find out the concentration of heavy metals Pb , Cu and Zn in sediment and seawater in the Telaga Tujuh waters and also to see the relationships between heavy metals Pb , Cu and Zn in sea water with Pb , Cu and Zn in the sediment. Sampling locations were determined by purposive sampling method , where 6 station were choose with three replicates. Based on the results it was suggested that Telaga Tujuh waters are still suitable for aquatic organisms living waters . Higher concentrations of Zn on were found when compared to Pb and Cu bouth in seawater or in sediment . Standard Quality Guideline values for metal concentrations in sediment showed that Pb , Cu and Zn in the sediment were very close to the ERL but still well below the ERM values. The concentration of heavy metals Pb , Cu and Zn in sea water were negative by correlated with concentration of heavy metals in the sediments.Keywords : Telaga Tujuh, Heavy Metals, Sediment, Seawater

Abstract

This study aims to determine the prospects of floating net in terms of aspectsof business analysis and development potential. The results showed for eachbusiness unit developed the KJA fishing effort as a contributory factor, earned netincomeof USD44.109million per harvest (8 months) and total investmentof Rp. 118.275 million. From a variety of investment criteria can be said tobe floatingnet business is worthto bedeveloped. Soalsointhe review of potential development in the village could be developed as muchas 2382 Sikakap KJA, the current number of KJA newly developed 41 unit. Thismeans that the utilization rate of sea cages in Sikakap for development isstill less than 2%
