Abstract

The problems that are often encountered in ecosystem restoration activities today are no longer just technical forestry issues such as planting and maintenance, but more importantly social issues as an important part of ecosystem restoration area management. Forest management must change from a physical definition to social interactions and spatial patterns so that the solutions taken must seek contextual efforts according to field conditions. Given the huge potential of the Kampar Peninsula ecosystem restoration area by PT. Sinar Mutiara Nusantara, it is necessary to carry out an in-depth analysis of environmental, social and economic conditions. The purpose of this study was to analyze the environmental, social and economic conditions of the Kampar Peninsula ecosystem restoration area by PT. Sinar Mutiara Nusantara. The environmental conditions observed consisted of land cover change data, vegetation and fauna data as well as mammals. While socio-economic data were obtained directly by observation (direct observation) and in-depth interviews with the people living around the concession and interacting with the IUPHHK-RE area of PT. Sinar Mutiara Nusantara in Pelalawan Regency. The results showed that the Kampar Peninsula ecosystem restoration area by PT. Sinar Mutiara Nusantara has high natural resources, as evidenced by the changing conditions of land cover, the potential for diverse vegetation and fauna and mammals. Not only environmental conditions, but socio-economic conditions which are also very closely related to environmental conditions in the Kampar Peninsula ecosystem restoration area by PT. Abstract

In recent years, the waste problem that has occurred in Indonesia has increased, including in Mandau District. One of the problems that occurred in Mandau District was the accumulation of waste due to the unavailability of temporary disposal sites around the community's residential areas, causing the community to dispose of waste indiscriminately. This study aims to determine the socio-economic factors that influence waste management in Mandau District. Obtaining data in this study is by direct observation in the field and in-depth interviews with stakeholders involved in waste management in Mandau. The results of the study show that the social factors that influence waste management in Mandau District are influenced by human resources who are less supportive of waste management. There needs to be a contribution from the community and the private sector, the majority of the local community's last education is high school, there are no training programs provided to the community, there are no conflicts that occur around the TPA and Pemda regulations and policies that are quite effective in waste management. While the economic factors that affect waste management in Mandau include: local government budgets for waste management, incentives for waste workers and businesses obtained from waste management.

Abstract

In Indonesia, the study of biomarkers is still very few because not many biomarkers are understood in various inland public waters here. The research location was at the Koto Panjang Reservoir as the experimental location and the Sei Tiban Fish Seed Center as the control location. The fish tested were carp and tilapia. Sample analysis was carried out in a certified laboratory at Construction Materials Laboratory, Department of Public Works, and Genetics Laboratory, Universitas Riau. The biomarkers studied were LSI, GSI and MT, and heavy metals observed were Cd, Pb and Hg. The research method was Experimental Design. Based on the statistical test, there was no difference in the LSI value of tilapia in the treatment group and tilapia in the control group (p = 0.187; p > 0.05), while it was different from goldfish (p = 0.0000; p < 0.001). In GSI, both of tilapia and carp showed significant differences (p = 0.0010; p < 0.010) and (p = 0.0060; p < 0.010). The tilapia and carp-treated livers showed the presence of MT while not in the control fish. This indicates that MT can be used as a biological marker of heavy metal exposure compared to GSI and LSI.
