Abstract

This study explores the integration of environmental ethics into Christian Religious Education (CRE) using an analytical and interpretive approach. The core problem addressed in this research is the increasing neglect of ecological responsibility among communities, particularly within the context of religious learning, amid the challenges of globalization and industrialization. These dynamics often reduce the emphasis on moral, ethical, and environmental awareness, creating an urgent need to realign faith-based education with environmental stewardship. The main objective of this study is to uncover how CRE can serve as a foundational platform for shaping students' ethical and moral values that are environmentally conscious. By embedding ecological values in religious learning, the study aims to foster a more holistic formation of character that emphasizes the responsibility to care for creation. This research employs project-based learning as a methodological framework, wherein students engage in real-world learning activities that connect theological principles with environmental ethics. Through analytical and interpretive methods, the study examines how these educational experiences impact students’ perceptions, behaviors, and ethical reflections on nature and sustainability. The findings reveal that integrating environmental ethics within CRE significantly enhances students' awareness of ecological issues and their role as stewards of the environment. It also encourages community-level reflections and actions grounded in Christian teachings. The implication of this research is the potential for faith-based education, particularly in churches and Christian communities, to become a transformative force in promoting ecological responsibility. By aligning religious values with sustainable practices, CRE can contribute to broader efforts in cultivating environmental ethics across generations

Abstract

This article explores the use of reflective methods as a pedagogical tool to develop communicative competence among linguistics students from Generation Z. The study highlights the need to adapt teaching strategies to the characteristics of modern university students, who often struggle with superficial information processing and reduced emotional intelligence. Reflective methods offer a promising solution by encouraging deeper cognitive engagement, metacognitive awareness, and critical thinking skills essential for communicative competence. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research combines theoretical analysis with empirical investigation. The theoretical framework is grounded in the CEFR model, which identifies the pragmatic component as the most challenging for students. The empirical phase involved a three-stage intervention—diagnostic, formative, and control—conducted with first-year linguistics students at NUST MISIS, Russia. A targeted set of tasks was developed based on four selected reflective methods to address weaknesses identified during the diagnostic stage. Pre- and post-test assessments of impromptu speech revealed significant improvement, with over half of the participants enhancing their performance. These results confirm the effectiveness of reflective methods in fostering communicative competence and suggest that the task model presented in this study can serve as a practical framework for addressing the communicative challenges specific to Generation Z learners

Abstract

Learning environments with high-pressure demands require students to possess resilience as a crucial capacity to adapt and persist through academic and social challenges. However, a lack of resilience among students often emerges as a fundamental issue that affects their learning outcomes and well-being. Resilience is influenced by several internal factors, particularly emotional health and learning readiness. This study aims to examine the influence of emotional health and learning readiness on student resilience in social studies learning. Employing a quantitative approach with a fact-exposure (ex post facto) design, the study uses multiple regression analysis to determine the relationship among variables. The sample consists of 76 junior high school students selected through purposive sampling. The findings reveal that (1) emotional health significantly affects student resilience, as indicated by a t-value of 2.621 and a p-value of 0.011; (2) learning readiness has a stronger significant influence on resilience, with a t-value of 11.703 and a p-value of 0.001; and (3) jointly, emotional health and learning readiness positively affect student resilience in social studies learning, as evidenced by an F-value of 112.909 and a significance level of 0.001. The coefficient of determination (R²) is 0.756, indicating that 75.6% of the variance in student resilience is explained by the two predictors. These results imply that educators and school institutions should prioritize strategies that enhance students' emotional well-being and preparedness to learn, in order to strengthen their resilience and support their academic success in demanding learning contexts

Abstract

With the increasing prevalence of autism diagnoses worldwide, there is a growing demand for interventions that support the holistic development of children with autism, particularly in gross motor function and social interaction. While exercise-based interventions have shown promise, existing research presents inconsistent findings. This study aims to systematically review the literature to clarify the potential effects of exercise interventions on the physiological health and social skills of children with autism. The ultimate goal is to derive universal conclusions and inform the development of tailored physical activity curricula that meet the unique needs of autistic children, providing a solid scientific foundation for inclusive physical education practices. A comprehensive literature review was conducted using subject-based searches across multiple databases, including PubMed, CNKI, Wikipedia, Web of Science, and Medline, covering publications from January 2006 to January 2024. After rigorous screening, sixteen randomized controlled trials (RCTs) focusing on exercise interventions for children with autism were selected for analysis. The systematic review revealed that exercise interventions significantly enhance gross motor skills and improve social interaction among children with autism. Additionally, these interventions contribute to improved executive functioning and are effective in reducing anxiety and feelings of low self-worth. Exercise interventions play a critical role in fostering the overall development of children with autism. They not only improve motor proficiency and social engagement but also boost self-confidence and alleviate psychological challenges. These findings underscore the importance of integrating structured physical activity programs into the education and therapy of children with autism to support their physical, emotional, and social well-being

Abstract

Algorithm learning remains challenging in computer science education due to its abstract logic, steep conceptual difficulty, and lack of personalized support in traditional settings. This study presents AlgoLLM, a modular instructional system built on large language models (LLMs) to support students through natural language explanations, code-level guidance, and feedback-based refinement. The system includes four core components: Knowledge Explainer, Exercise Generator, Code Assistant and Debugger, and Feedback Evaluator. A four-week case study was conducted with 60 undergraduate students, comparing a control group using textbooks and an experimental group using AlgoLLM. Paired and independent t-tests showed that the experimental group achieved significantly higher learning gains in post-tests (mean increase of 18.3 percent, Cohen's d = 0.94). Code accuracy and task efficiency also improved. Pearson correlation revealed a moderate relationship between LLM interaction frequency and learning gain. Questionnaire feedback indicated high perceived usefulness, clarity, and satisfaction. These results suggest that LLM-based systems like AlgoLLM can enhance algorithm comprehension and offer scalable, personalized support in technical education

Abstract

Research on the foreign language effect—how using a non-native language influences cognition and decision-making—has gained increasing scholarly attention in recent years. However, there is still limited comprehensive mapping of its development trajectory and thematic evolution on a global scale. This study aims to investigate the research trends, knowledge structures, and emerging hotspots in the field of foreign language effects over the past decade. Utilizing CiteSpace visual analysis software, the study analyzes articles indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection from 2013 to 2023. The analysis focuses on the annual publication trends, geographical distribution of research output, co-citation networks, and keyword clustering. Results indicate a general upward trend in the number of publications, despite fluctuations across years. The dominant research themes revolve around moral psychology, reduced emotionality, dishonesty, and decision-making. The United States, Europe, and East Asia appear as major contributors to this field. These findings suggest that while the foreign language effect has become a prominent interdisciplinary topic, its development in China remains comparatively limited. The study underscores the need to strengthen theoretical frameworks, adopt advanced digital tools such as visual analytics, expand interdisciplinary integration, and deepen empirical exploration within the Chinese context. These implications can inform future research directions and policy decisions aimed at enhancing foreign language education and psychological studies in multilingual settings

Abstract

This academic investigation employs Wang Wenbin's Cactus Model of Metaphorical Semantic Change to trace the diachronic development of the lexical item brat. Drawing upon corpus evidence from the Corpus of Contemporary American English spanning three decades, the study identifies four distinct semantic interpretations: an ill-mannered child; offspring within professional or military communities; a largely obsolete term for aprons or overalls; and a contemporary descriptor for individuals exhibiting confidence, independence, and hedonism. Analysis reveals a non-linear evolutionary trajectory progressing from textile-related origins through behavioral associations to sociocultural conceptualizations. The metaphorical mechanisms underpinning this transformation are critically examined. The initial semantic shift occurred through physical resemblance, linking fabric artifacts to child behavior. Subsequent transitions leveraged psychological parallels, connecting behavioral traits to social identity within privileged groups. Most notably, the emergence of the modern connotation reflects sociocultural recontextualization, where notions of privilege were abstracted into expressions of individualism under shifting cultural values. The Cactus Model effectively illustrates these dynamics, demonstrating how semantic nodes interrelate through overlapping attributes while remaining rooted in cultural contexts. Findings confirm that lexical evolution is fundamentally driven by cognitive similarity operating within specific cultural milieus. Each semantic stage retains core attributes while developing distinctive identities, validating the model’s capacity to map how meanings dynamically expand through metaphor. The study highlights the inseparability of linguistic change from its sociocultural ecosystem, demonstrating the explanatory power of the Cactus framework for lexical semantics

Abstract

The dynamics of local political contests in Indonesia often involve complex challenges, ranging from party competition to controversies surrounding candidates. One of the crucial problems faced in the 2024 Langkat Regency Election was the public's skepticism toward the vice regent candidate, which created a risk of declining electability for the Syah Afandin–Tiorita Surbakti pair. In this context, political parties, particularly the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), were required to design a strategic and adaptive campaign to secure voter support. The main objective of this study is to analyze the campaign strategy implemented by PDIP in supporting the Syah Afandin–Tiorita Surbakti candidate pair and to examine how these strategies contributed to electoral success despite the controversies encountered. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through interviews with party elites and campaign teams, direct observations during campaign activities, and document studies of campaign materials and media coverage. Data were then analyzed thematically to identify patterns in political marketing practices. The findings reveal that PDIP employed a combination of three political marketing approaches: push marketing, which mobilized the party machine across all levels; pull marketing, which highlighted the strengths and vision of the candidates; and pass marketing, which utilized interpersonal networks to strengthen grassroots engagement. These strategies effectively countered negative perceptions, rebuilt the candidate pair's image, and ultimately secured 55% of the vote in the quick count results. The implications of this study emphasize that well-structured political marketing strategies, when integrated with strong party solidarity and emotional proximity to voters, can be decisive in overcoming reputational challenges and ensuring victory in local elections

Abstract

The rising incidence of academic misconduct has led to a heightened emphasis on academic norms. Consequently, the graduate mentor-student relationship, when viewed through the lens of academic norms, has emerged as a pivotal research topic in educational studies. This paper presents a logical association analysis between academic norms and the mentor-student relationship. It delineates the mentor-student dynamic into four distinct categories based on two core dimensions: academic cultivation and moral cultivation. An evaluative model and a range of indicator weights related to the mentor-student relationship from an academic norm perspective are established. This involves 15 level 2 indicators and 51 level 3 indicators, selected from 5 domains: quality of academic guidance, academic integrity cultivation, academic exchange and interaction, output of academic achievements, and students' academic growth. Empirical analysis is executed using data sourced from scholars' assignments and scores derived from the Likert five-point scale. The findings reveal that the weights assigned to academic integrity cultivation and quality of academic guidance, within the evaluation system for the mentor-student relationship, surpass 25%, indicating their significant influence. Notably, the "academic guidance-moral guidance" type of mentor-student relationship exhibits the highest degree of similarity to the reference sequence (the ideal mentor-student relationship).

Abstract

The intellectual and moral cultivation of youth has become an urgent challenge in the context of rapid globalization, technological disruption, and cultural transformation. Contemporary education often struggles to balance theoretical knowledge, social responsibility, and holistic personality development, leading to fragmented growth among young learners. Against this backdrop, the pioneering contributions of Li Dazhao (1889–1927), one of the earliest disseminators of Marxism in China, offer valuable insights. His educational philosophy—developed through revolutionary praxis and philosophical synthesis—remains highly relevant for addressing the current dilemmas of youth education. This study aims to examine Li Dazhao's tripartite educational framework: theoretical arming, responsibility cultivation, and holistic personality development, and to explore its applicability in constructing a new paradigm of youth education for socialist modernization. Methodologically, the research employs a qualitative approach through historical analysis and textual interpretation of Li's writings, including My View on Marxism and related works, while also engaging with secondary scholarship on Marxist education and Chinese intellectual history. The findings highlight that Li Dazhao successfully integrated Marxist theory with traditional Chinese humanism and experiential pedagogy, thereby cultivating youth who were both ideologically committed and socially engaged. His emphasis on linking theory with practice, responsibility to the nation, and personality formation provides a systematic model for contemporary youth development. The implications of this study suggest that Li's framework can inform the design of modern ideological and political education, the promotion of civic responsibility, and the construction of personality education systems that respect individual diversity. Ultimately, his vision contributes to cultivating ethically grounded, socially responsible, and historically conscious youth capable of meeting the challenges of the new era
