Abstract

Football is a high-intensity competitive sport that requires complex coordination of the shoulders, torso, and lower limbs. Movements such as footwork, sprinting, turning, and jumping demand a high level of physical fitness, which often increases the risk of sports injuries. Functional Movement Screening (FMS) is used to assess the quality of basic movement patterns and predict injury risks, allowing coaches to adjust training plans and provide corrective exercises. However, the application of FMS among university-level specialized football athletes remains limited. This study aims to examine the overall and sub-score characteristics of FMS among male university football players and to explore the relationship between FMS results and sports injuries. The study involved 18 male physical education students from Lvliang University who participated in the Shanxi Province Campus Football League. Before testing, participants completed a questionnaire on training duration and injury history over the past year. Their movement quality was then evaluated using the FMS kit. The collected data were analyzed to determine score distribution and its correlation with injury occurrence. Results showed that the highest total FMS score was 17 and the lowest was 7, each achieved by one participant. Most participants (72.2%) scored between 11 and 14. Nine athletes scored below 14, indicating a high risk of injury. Sub-scores were mostly in the range of 1–2 points. The highest scores appeared in the deep squat test, while the lowest were found in trunk rotation stability, which requires advanced coordination. The study concludes that core stability, ankle flexibility, quadriceps and rectus femoris strength, pelvic stability, and lower-limb coordination need improvement. Regular corrective training and routine FMS assessments are recommended to reduce injury risks and enhance team performance

Abstract

This article examines the effectiveness of mind mapping as a strategy for improving grammar error correction among high school students in Vietnam. Given that many students still struggle with core grammatical components, the study aims to explore how mind maps can be optimally utilized to support the acquisition of grammar knowledge and enhance students’ accuracy in language use. The research specifically seeks to identify the cognitive and instructional benefits of mind mapping that enable learners to visualize grammatical structures, categorize rules, and minimize common errors. Methodologically, this study employs an extensive literature review and analytical approach, drawing on previous empirical and theoretical research to investigate students’ difficulties in learning grammar and the pedagogical value of mind mapping. In addition, a design-based method was applied to systematize perspectives on constructing a structured educational course. This method includes organizing processes and steps needed to integrate mind mapping into grammar instruction effectively. The findings derived from theoretical analysis indicate several key outcomes. First, the study highlights the position of higher educational institutions in Vietnam regarding the integration of mind mapping as a solution to persistent grammatical errors, particularly those related to tenses, articles, and prepositions. Second, it proposes a detailed framework for an educational course aimed at addressing challenges in mind mapping application and grammar error correction among Vietnamese high school students. Third, it formulates essential research questions that guide further investigation into the use of mind maps in improving grammatical accuracy at the tertiary level. In conclusion, the study clarifies the developmental prospects of mind mapping as an effective learning tool for grammar improvement. Integrating mind maps across different stages of instruction and using them as supplementary learning materials can significantly enhance students’ error correction skills. The findings offer a foundation for future research and serve as practical input for designing educational programs that strengthen grammar competence within the Vietnamese and Russian higher education contexts

Abstract

Previous studies have consistently shown systematic differences in how motion events are construed in Chinese and English, particularly in terms of encoding manner, path, and figure–ground relations. However, the underlying causes of these differences and their implications for second language acquisition and instruction have not been fully synthesized. Addressing this gap is crucial, as motion event conceptualization reflects deeper typological and cognitive distinctions that may significantly influence learners’ interlanguage development. The primary objective of this study is to critically examine the roots, representations, and developmental tendencies of motion event construal differences between Chinese and English, and to explore how these differences affect second language learning and teaching. Specifically, the study aims to identify typological patterns and transfer effects observed in learners acquiring English as a second language. Methodologically, this paper employs a qualitative literature review approach, analyzing major theoretical frameworks and relevant empirical studies on motion event typology and second language acquisition. Data from previous experimental and corpus-based studies were carefully examined to identify recurring patterns of encoding and conceptualization. The findings reveal clear disparities between English and Chinese in the encoding of path and manner information, as well as in the conceptualization of figure–ground relations in motion events. Moreover, evidence indicates that contemporary Chinese shows a gradual tendency toward English-like motion event patterns. Importantly, the analysis confirms the presence of typological transfer, demonstrating that learners’ interlanguage increasingly aligns with the typological features of the target language as their L2 proficiency improves. The study further suggests that English–Chinese spatio-temporal conceptual differences may account for these disparities. These findings carry important implications for second language pedagogy, emphasizing the need for typology-informed instruction. Finally, the paper outlines current research limitations and proposes directions for future studies on motion event conceptualization and language learning

Abstract

The shift from face-to-face instruction to online learning has introduced significant challenges in maintaining student satisfaction, particularly in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) courses. Issues such as limited interaction, unclear academic information, restricted access to academic services, and perceptions of tuition fees during distance learning have raised concerns regarding the effectiveness of online learning implementation. Student satisfaction is a crucial indicator of learning quality and plays an important role in achieving the educational objectives of PAI programs. This study aims to examine the impact of online learning on student satisfaction among third-semester students enrolled in the Distance Learning Program (PJJ) of Islamic Religious Education at IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon. Specifically, the study examines the impact of online learning evaluation on student satisfaction, while also identifying other factors that contribute to it. A quantitative research approach was employed using regression analysis. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire distributed to third-semester PJJ students, measuring variables such as online learning evaluation, clarity of academic information, accessibility of academic staff, and perceptions of tuition fees. The results indicate that the constant has a significant effect on student satisfaction (coefficient = 24.125, p < 0.05), whereas the online learning evaluation variable does not have a statistically significant effect (coefficient = 0.011, p > 0.05). Despite the non-significant influence of learning evaluation, other factors—particularly clarity of information, tuition fee structure, and staff accessibility—were found to meaningfully contribute to student satisfaction. These findings suggest that improving the clarity of academic communication, reviewing tuition fee policies, and enhancing the accessibility of academic and administrative services are crucial strategies for enhancing student satisfaction. Such improvements can support the development of more effective and sustainable online learning practices within Islamic Religious Education programs

Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs play a strategic role in ensuring that companies contribute not only to economic growth but also to social development, particularly in the education sector. One of the challenges faced by vocational schools is the gap between graduates’ competencies and industry needs, which often results from limited facilities, weak industry linkages, and curricula that are not fully aligned with professional demands. To address this issue, the Djarum Foundation implements an education-oriented CSR program in collaboration with SMK PGRI 2 Kudus and industry partners through the Teaching Factory model. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Teaching Factory program at SMK PGRI 2 Kudus and to examine the collaboration patterns among the school, the Djarum Foundation, and industry partners in enhancing the quality of vocational education. This study employs a descriptive, qualitative approach, utilizing observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews. Interview guidelines focus on collaboration mechanisms among stakeholders, the implementation model of the Teaching Factory program in the culinary department, the curriculum framework applied, and the availability of learning facilities and infrastructure. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the CSR collaboration between the Djarum Foundation and SMK PGRI 2 Kudus has a significant positive impact on producing competent and competitive graduates. CSR contributions include the construction of Teaching Factory facilities, teacher capacity building, provision of practical equipment and infrastructure, and reinforcement of an industry-based curriculum. The synergy among the school, industry, and the Djarum Foundation has been well established, enabling students to gain hands-on experience and better prepare them for the professional work environment. The study implies that education-focused CSR programs can serve as an effective strategy for strengthening vocational education and human resource development. It also suggests that other corporations should emulate the Djarum Foundation’s model to support sustainable partnerships between the education and industry sectors

Abstract

The sale and purchase of inherited land often give rise to legal disputes due to the intersection of contract law and land law, particularly when not all heirs are involved or when formal land administration procedures are not followed. The core problem addressed in this study is the uncertainty regarding the validity of inherited land sale and purchase agreements that only fulfill contractual requirements but fail to comply with formal land law provisions. This condition often leads to conflicts among heirs and provides limited legal protection for the parties involved. The objective of this study is to analyze the validity of inherited land sale and purchase agreements from the perspectives of contract law and land law, as well as to examine the role of family counseling as an alternative dispute resolution mechanism in resolving inheritance-related land disputes. This study aims to clarify the relationship between substantive contractual validity and the formal legality of land rights transfer. This study employs a normative juridical method using statutory, conceptual, and case approaches. Primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials are collected and analyzed qualitatively to assess legal norms governing agreements, inheritance, and land registration, as well as their practical implications in dispute resolution. The results indicate that an inherited land sale and purchase agreement is considered valid only when it fulfills both the subjective and objective requirements of contract law, including the consent of all legal heirs, and the formal requirements of land law, namely the execution of a deed by a Land Deed Making Officer (PPAT) and registration at the land office. Family counseling plays a significant role in facilitating mediation, reducing conflict, and encouraging consensus among family members. This study recommends harmonizing contract law and land law regulations, increasing legal awareness among heirs, and integrating family counseling mechanisms to ensure legal certainty, justice, and the protection of parties' rights in inherited land transactions

Abstract

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald has been extensively examined from literary and stylistic perspectives; however, its pragmatic dimensions, particularly verb presupposition triggers, remain underexplored. Factive and implicative verbs play a crucial role in conveying implicit assumptions, shaping narrative meaning, and maintaining discourse coherence. The lack of corpus-based pragmatic analysis limits a comprehensive understanding of how presuppositional mechanisms operate within literary texts, especially in cross-linguistic contexts. This study aims to identify and classify verb presupposition triggers in The Great Gatsby, with a specific focus on factive and implicative verbs, and to examine how these triggers contribute to the construction of implicit meaning and narrative coherence. Additionally, the study seeks to propose a cross-linguistic, corpus-driven framework for presupposition analysis. A corpus-driven approach is employed by aligning the English source text of The Great Gatsby with its Chinese translations. The analysis draws on an established corpus of verb presupposition triggers in modern Chinese, enabling the systematic identification and classification of corresponding presuppositional verbs in English through cross-linguistic mapping. The findings reveal that factive and implicative verbs function as key pragmatic devices that embed background assumptions, guide reader interpretation, and enhance textual cohesion throughout the narrative. The corpus-based, cross-linguistic methodology proves effective in uncovering implicit pragmatic patterns that are not easily detected through traditional qualitative analysis. This study enriches the pragmatic interpretation of The Great Gatsby and demonstrates the value of corpus-driven methods in literary pragmatics. Moreover, it offers a replicable methodological model for constructing verb presupposition trigger corpora in English and other languages, contributing to broader research in corpus pragmatics and cross-linguistic studies

Abstract

Individual development is fundamentally rooted in self-awareness and the ability to understand oneself, yet many university students experience difficulties in recognizing personal problems and making independent decisions. This condition indicates a gap in counseling approaches that are responsive to students’ psychosocial development and digital lifestyles. Therefore, innovative counseling strategies that integrate psychosocial perspectives and digital media are needed to enhance students’ comprehensive self-understanding. This study aims to enhance students’ self-understanding through counseling services based on psychosocial development, utilizing real-life videos as a medium for counseling. The focus is on exploring how digital content aligned with students’ lived experiences can support the identification of problems, reflection, and decision-making processes. The research employed a qualitative methodology using a phenomenological approach grounded in social media experiences. The participants consisted of 15 students from the Guidance and Counseling Islamic Education (BKPI) program. From this group, three students were purposively selected based on identified problem indicators. Data were collected through systematic observation and in-depth interviews to capture students’ experiences, perceptions, and meaning-making processes related to the use of reel-life videos in counseling sessions. The findings reveal that reel-life videos effectively assist counselors in identifying students’ personal problems. The relevance of the video content, supported by social media algorithms, enables students to relate their experiences to the issues presented. Furthermore, students demonstrate increased independence in making decisions and formulating solutions to their problems. The alignment between the problems encountered and the solutions presented in the videos facilitates deeper self-reflection and problem-solving. This study suggests that reel-life videos can serve as an innovative counseling strategy that aligns psychosocial development with digital media, providing practical insights for counselors in designing adaptive, student-centered counseling services in the digital era

Abstract

While the mental health benefits of physical activity (PA) are well documented, evidence regarding the association between specific PA patterns and the risk of cognitive impairment among middle-aged and older adults in China remains limited, particularly with respect to gender differences. This study aimed to examine the relationships between different dimensions of PA—including intensity, frequency, duration, and total volume and cognitive function among Chinese adults aged 45 years and above. Data were drawn from the 2018 wave of the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS), comprising a nationally representative sample of 4,160 participants. Cognitive function was assessed using the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), and binary logistic regression models were employed to estimate the associations between PA patterns and the likelihood of cognitive impairment, stratified by gender. The findings indicated notable gender-specific associations. Among men, engaging in light physical activity (LPA) for 3–5 days per week (OR = 0.42, 95% CI: 0.19–0.92), with daily durations of at least 240 minutes (OR = 0.71, 95% CI: 0.40–1.29) and total weekly activity exceeding 1,260 minutes (OR = 0.69, 95% CI: 0.38–1.25), was associated with a lower risk of cognitive impairment. Among women, LPA performed 6–7 days per week (OR = 0.76, 95% CI: 0.57–1.00), with daily durations of at least 240 minutes (OR = 0.71, 95% CI: 0.50–1.02) and either low (<525 minutes) or high (>1,260 minutes) weekly PA volume (OR = 0.72, 95% CI: 0.51–1.03), was linked to reduced impairment risk. In contrast, excessive vigorous physical activity (VPA), defined as more than 240 minutes per day, was associated with an increased risk of cognitive impairment among women (OR = 1.34, 95% CI: 1.00–1.79). Overall, the study highlights the importance of moderate, light-intensity physical activity for cognitive health in later life and underscores the need to consider gender-specific PA recommendations.

Abstract

The study examines the influence of background music on the accuracy and fluency of English writing among college students. It shows that) Background music during teaching can help improve students' lexical accuracy in English writing. To be specific, background music teaching can reduce lexical errors greatly and restrain syntactic errors efficiently, but does not show any advantages in decreasing the students' morphological errors and punctuation errors.2). Compared with traditional teaching, background music teaching can not promote the fluency of English writing of the students.3). Although background music teaching can release students' anxiety, it may not help the students to obtain more comprehensible input. Therefore, teachers should increase opportunities for students to practice English writing and enrich the variety of tasks, enabling them to write relevant compositions. At the same time, teachers should help develop students correct English writing skills and habits; students should accumulate good sentence patterns, recite more excellent compositions and idiomatic expressions to implement them in English writing practice;  students should also increase the practicing frequency and conquer dilemma before English writing to eliminate negative impact in mind, so as to extract relevant information fluently to improve English writing quality
