Abstract

Alcoholism, as a social disease that creeps into society, in general, and into the family, in particular, causes addiction, depression, and ultimately death. Affecting a vast array of people, Alcoholism is indiscriminate regardless of race, gender, identity, education, class, or intelligence. Alcoholism results in societal problems that are depicted heavily on the American stage after wars to reach solutions. A qualitative research method is going to be followed and applied by employing a mixture of Scholarship and Textual Analysis Methods are used to investigate the body of scholarship written about the two playwrights, their literary works, and historical periods. By comparing two American plays: Thornton Wilder’s Our Town (1938) and Eugene O’Neill’s Long Day’s Journey into Night (1955), this paper identifies alcoholism as a social disease, traces back its causes, and analyzes the problematic portrayals of its stereotypes. By following the Block Method, this paper makes a comparison to deal with particular and important features of the two plays for the argument presented, supported by textual evidence taken from both texts. This study raises questions such as: Why is alcoholism projected publicly? How do people feel and react toward alcoholic addicts? Are alcoholic addicts, the main characters in the selected plays, reliable, tragic, sympathetic, or empathetic? Does the playwrights’ history of alcohol play a role in shaping such characters?

Abstract

Along with the rapid development of communication and information technology in the industrial revolution 4.0. in which online-based learning (for example, google classroom and many more learning providers) is inevitable, has currently had strong implications for the world of education and learning. In higher education, google classroom as an online provider has been found very helpful and made it easier for educators and students to do activities in the online learning and teaching process. This is an advantage of current technology and information development. However, the use of google classroom predominantly helps students develop their cognitive domain but fails to help them build their character building. In fact, inculcating tabe-based characters one of the cross generations type of established culture in the Buginese Tribe in the industrial revolution 4.0 era has a deep meaning in our society. These include sense of respect each other, saying good and polite words as well as writing them politely, having good attitudes and behaviour and not writing sentences that potentially disturbs or offend one another. These types of behaviour and attitudes are those contained in the cultures of Buginese tribe as Sipakatau (respect each other), Sipakalebbi (be humanized to each other) and Sipakainge (to remind of bad deeds to each other). The results show that the use of the google classroom online learning provider has a very positive impact on increasing Intelligence Quotient of students but has failed to inculcategood character to them as they use slang in their conversations like up, yoi, ok, siap, gtw, cancer, gan, mastah, hqq and kuy. goblok, edan, santuy, sob, kepo, woles, baper, nooband regand tend to be rude

Abstract

In order to understand the current situation of secondary vocational education research in China, this paper adopts the literature research method to study the development of secondary vocational education in China. Firstly, we searched the literature of secondary vocational education research and found that the main research literature was focused on three areas: "research on secondary vocational education development", "research on school-enterprise cooperation and industry-education integration model of secondary vocational education", and "research on secondary vocational teaching reform". After analyzing the hotspots of secondary vocational education research, the future directions that researchers should focus on in the field of secondary education research in the future are generally "problems in the development of secondary vocational education", such as promoting the research of "school-enterprise cooperation and integration of industry-education" in secondary vocational schools. "The important role of secondary vocational education as a bridge", such as the promotion of the "double high" policy, which opens up new channels for higher education or vocational-technical universities through the creation of specialties. "Teacher training and pedagogical innovation in secondary vocational education" e.g. interdisciplinary cross-fertilization. It is strongly believed that these recommendations will be useful for researchers concerned with the field of secondary vocational education
