Abstract

This study aims to examine the various barriers faced by educators in implementing professional codes of ethics amid disruptive social transformation. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the research analyzes how shifting social norms and the rapid penetration of digital technology have reshaped traditional ethical boundaries between teachers and students. These changes create new spaces of interaction that often blur the limits of professionalism. The findings reveal that teachers’ professional integrity is currently influenced by three main factors: the strong presence of digital environments beyond the classroom, inconsistent public expectations, and gaps in educators’ regulatory literacy. A lack of preparedness in responding to these dynamics can lead to ethical dilemmas that risk undermining the dignity of the teaching profession. Therefore, this study argues that partial or one-dimensional solutions are no longer sufficient. Systemic efforts are needed through the strengthening of contextual ethical literacy and protective institutional support. Such synergy is essential to ensure that educators possess not only intellectual competence but also adaptive moral resilience, enabling them to sustain their role as role models in an increasingly complex and dynamic educational environment.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the Experiential Learning model assisted by animated videos in improving the learning outcomes of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) students at the elementary school level. A quasi-experiment with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design was used, with purposive sampling selecting students from Presidential Elementary School, Beriwit State Elementary School 1, and Beriwit State Elementary School 2. The experimental group received animated video-assisted learning, while the control group followed conventional methods. Validity and reliability tests were conducted, and data were analyzed using an independent sample t-test. Results showed the experimental class had a significantly higher post-test average score (83.77) compared to the control group (65.00). The hypothesis test yielded a t-value of 2.018, greater than the t-table value of 1.771, with a significance of 0.007 (< 0.05). These findings confirm that the Experiential Learning model with animated videos effectively enhances students' learning outcomes. This model promotes active engagement and can be widely applied in elementary school curricula.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of Project Based Learning (PBL) in improving the cognitive abilities of elementary school students, especially critical thinking, problem solving, and conceptual understanding. The research used a quasi-experimental design involving 40 fifth-grade students at Magetan State Elementary School 1. The students were divided into two groups: an experimental group that used PBL and a control group that used conventional learning. Data were collected through cognitive ability tests administered as pre-test and post-test. The results showed that students in the experimental group achieved a higher improvement than those in the control group. The average post-test score in the experimental group increased by 20.1 points, while the control group increased by only 3.5 points. Statistical analysis using t-tests and ANOVA showed a significant difference between the two groups, with p < 0.05. These findings indicate that PBL can improve students’ cognitive abilities and support the development of 21st-century skills. This study suggests that PBL should be integrated into elementary school learning to improve educational quality.

Abstract

Students’ critical thinking skills remain relatively low because the learning process tends to be teacher-centered. This situation highlights the need to implement a learning model that can enhance students’ active participation during learning activities. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of implementing Problem Based Learning (PBL) in improving students’ critical thinking skills through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The study was conducted in accordance with the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, which include the stages of identification, screening, eligibility, and included studies. Articles were searched in the Google Scholar, Scopus, and DOAJ databases, covering publications from 2023 to 2025. A total of 30 articles were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria and then analyzed using narrative synthesis. The results indicate that the implementation of PBL generally has a positive impact on enhancing students’ critical thinking skills, as evidenced by improved learning outcomes, student engagement in the learning process, problem-solving abilities, and peer collaboration. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of the latest research findings regarding the effectiveness of PBL for vocational high school students based on publications from 2023 to 2025. However, the implementation of PBL still faces several obstacles, such as limited learning time and teachers’ readiness to implement Problem Based Learning.
