Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in the Economics Education Study Program in the Economics of Education course through the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 10 second-semester students in the Economics Education Study Program at PGRI Mahadewa Indonesia University in the even semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. Data collection techniques used observation and learning outcome tests. Data were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively by calculating the average score and classical learning completion. The results showed an increase in student learning outcomes, with the average score in the first cycle being 68.5 with a classical completion of 60%, while in the second cycle it increased to 82.3 with a classical completion of 90%. Thus, the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model has been proven to improve student learning outcomes through a planned learning cycle.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the characteristics and quality of a STEM-based science assessment instrument oriented toward the Programme for International Student Assessment (PSA) for tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Semarapura. This study used a mixed methods approach with a sequential explanatory design that integrates qualitative and quantitative analysis. The subjects were tenth-grade students in the 2025/2026 academic year. Qualitative data were collected through observation, interviews, and document studies to assess the suitability of the instrument's characteristics to the PISA scientific literacy framework, which includes aspects of context, content, and competency. Quantitative data were obtained through instrument trials to analyze item quality, including validity, reliability, difficulty level, and discriminatory power. The results showed that the developed instrument met the PISA assessment characteristics by incorporating real-world contexts, integration across STEM disciplines, and higher-order thinking skills. Quantitatively, most items had good validity, high reliability, moderate difficulty level, and adequate to good discriminatory power. However, some items needed revision to improve the instrument's quality. Thus, the developed assessment instrument is suitable for measuring students' scientific literacy and supporting the development of STEM-based assessments oriented towards international standards.

Abstract

Banana plants are horticultural plants that have high economic value, where each type has a distinctive morphological variation. Bananas are a very important plant in Bali, especially in Munggu Village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency. This study aims to determine the diversity of banana types in Munggu Village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency. This research was carried out in January-February 2026 and used purposive sampling techniques. The data obtained was tabulated and analyzed descriptively. Data analysis used the Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H'). Based on the results of the research, it is known that there are 11 types of bananas in Munggu Village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency, namely pisang susu, pisang mas, pisang cavendish, pisang dak raja, pisang kepok kuning, pisang kepok putih, pisang klutuk, pisang hijau/gadang buluh, pisang ambon lumut, pisang ketip, dan pisang kayu. Based on the results of observations on the appearance of morphological characters in vegetative and generative organs, it is known that there is diversity in shape, size, color and other characters. The diversity of banana plants in Munggu Village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency is moderate with a diversity index value (H') of 2.17. The results of this research can be integrated as biology learning material, namely biodiversity.

Abstract

Community Service Program (KKN) is one form of implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, focusing on community service through the direct application of knowledge. This activity aims to bridge academic concepts with real-world needs in the community. This article analyzes the implementation of the Thematic KKN program, which focused on waste sorting education in Banjar Sengguan, Singapadu Village, Sukawati District, Gianyar Regency. The main problems faced by the community were low awareness of separating organic, inorganic, and residual waste, as well as limited educational resources to support waste management. The method used was a participatory and educational approach through observation, outreach, direct education, and the provision of supporting media such as separate trash bins and information boards. The results of the activity showed an increase in community knowledge and awareness of waste management, demonstrated by the adoption of waste sorting habits at the household level. This program also had a positive impact on the PKK (Family Welfare Movement) women's group, Sekaa Teruna Teruni (Teruna Teruni Youth Group), elementary school students, and early childhood education in developing clean and healthy lifestyles. Thus, this KKN program contributes to creating a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment based on community participation.
