Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implications of Indonesian's status as an international language on the development of the creative economy in Indonesia. The method used is library research, reviewing various academic sources and policies related to language, the creative economy, and the language economy. The results of the study show that Indonesian plays a strategic role as a national identity and a medium for authentic cultural expression in creative products such as films, music, fashion, and digital content. The international status of the Indonesian language enhances the competitiveness and global market reach of creative industry players. Further analysis identifies three levels of strengthening strategies, namely the macro level through government policies that support language diplomacy and the creative industry, the meso level through the role of associations and creative communities in cross-cultural promotion, and the micro level through the innovation of creators who utilize a bilingual approach in their work. These findings show that Indonesian is not only a means of communication, but also a symbolic resource and cultural identity with high economic value. Thus, strengthening the position of Indonesian on the global stage can be a significant driver for national creative economic growth

Abstract

Communication is a fundamental process in human interaction that encompasses both verbal and nonverbal dimensions. One form of nonverbal communication that has increasingly gained attention is sign language, particularly through film media. This study aims to analyze the representation of sign language and audience perceptions of the film Hear Me: Our Summer. The method used is descriptive qualitative with techniques of observation, analysis, and documentation. Data were obtained through direct observation and systematic recording of the research object, as well as questionnaires administered to 100 respondents. The findings reveal that the film successfully represents sign language not as a barrier, but as a difference that should be respected. Thus, the film functions not only as entertainment but also as a medium to broaden public awareness of equality, empathy, and acceptance of diversity. However, the absence of voice interpreters in several scenes was perceived to reduce emotional depth. Overall, this study affirms the dual role of film as both entertainment and effective social advocacy in promoting inclusivity and inspiring sign language learning among Indonesian audiences.in learning sign language. difference that deserves appreciation. Moreover, the film inspires the audience to be more open-minded and motivated to learn sign language

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of problem-based learning (PBL) in improving the graphic design skills of 11th grade students majoring in graphics in the subject of Digital Printing Process using CorelDraw. The background of this study stems from the low creativity and design skills of students due to conventional learning methods that are still teacher-centered. The method used is a quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. Data were collected through observation, tests (pretest and posttest), and questionnaires. The data were then analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. The results indicate that the implementation of PBL significantly enhances students’ learning motivation, higher-order thinking skills (HOTS), and graphic design learning outcomes. The Mann-Whitney test produced a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, confirming a significant difference in effectiveness between the experimental and control classes. The average N-Gain value was 0.8293, categorized as high (g > 0.7). The validity test showed that the research instruments were valid (r_calculated > r_table = 0.805), and the reliability test with Cronbach’s Alpha > 0.6 indicated that the instruments were reliable. The average pretest score of 62.42 increased to 93.94 after implementing PBL. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Problem-Based Learning model is effective in improving students’ graphic design abilities in the Digital Printing Process subject.

Abstract

Digital literacy is an important skill that high school students must have in order to cope with rapid technological developments and the flow of information. This skill involves not only the ability to access and use technology, but also the ability to analyze, evaluate, and manage information critically and ethically. In the context of language learning, digital literacy plays a major role in argumentative writing skills, as writing requires students to process information, think logically, and form opinions based on valid data. This study aims to analyze the relationship between digital literacy and argumentative writing skills in high school students. The method used was a literature study with a descriptive approach, which examined various previous research results related to the influence of digital literacy on writing skills. The results of the study show that students with high levels of digital literacy have better argumentative writing skills. This can be seen from their ability to select credible sources of information, avoid fake news, and construct logical and evidence-based arguments. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating digital literacy into language learning in secondary schools so that students can write critically, responsibly, and in a manner relevant to the demands of the 21st century.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of self-reward on the learning motivation of accounting students at STIE Balikpapan. The research method used is a quantitative survey with questionnaires distributed via Google Forms to 10 students in semesters 3, 5, and 7 who were selected using purposive sampling. The research instrument consisted of ten questions covering the form of reward, frequency of application, amount of cost, and its impact on students' enthusiasm, consistency, and academic stress. The results showed that the majority of students felt the positive effects of self-reward, especially in maintaining motivation, increasing enthusiasm for learning, and reducing psychological pressure during lectures. The most common form of reward is buying food or drinks costing between Rp50,000 and Rp150,000, followed by simple activities such as watching movies, resting, or pursuing hobbies. These findings confirm that the effectiveness of self-reward is not determined by the material value, but rather by the personal meaning and emotional satisfaction gained. Thus, self-reward can be used as an effective strategy to build sustainable learning motivation for accounting students in higher education.

Abstract

Tourism development in the Land of Papua holds strategic potential in driving regional economic growth and improving community welfare, particularly for the Indigenous Papuans (OAP). Data collection techniques were conducted through library research, which involves reviewing relevant literature as a theoretical and contextual basis. The sources of this research data are scientific articles published in various scientific journals and indexed in Google Scholar. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The analysis results indicate that to ensure inclusive and sustainable development, active involvement of the Papua People's Assembly (MRP) and indigenous communities is required at every stage of tourism investment planning and implementation. An approach based on local uniqueness and the utilization of Geographic Information System (GIS) technology in mapping regional potential and SMEs is key to formulating effective development strategies. Moreover, tourism development policies need to be designed collaboratively with a socio-legal approach that recognizes customary law and the social structures of Papuan society. Cross-agency coordination and the provision of fiscal incentives to investors committed to empowering local communities are expected to create a fair investment climate. Strengthening indicators of local economic impact and implementing the principle of Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) in tourism projects are important steps in maintaining social and cultural sustainability
