Abstract

One of the sectors affected by the Covid-19 pandemic is the economic sector. Fitness centres are one of the industries affected by this pandemic due to government policies in imposing social restrictions on social distancing to reduce the spread of the corona virus. The purpose of this study was to determine how the communication strategy of fitness centres as part of the capitalist industry such as Urban Athletes, in disciplining the body during and after the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used in this research is Krippendorff content analysis on Instagram @urban.athletes posts during the period January 2021 to February 2021. The conclusion obtained is that Urban Athletes revives the lifestyle of sports during and after the Covid-19 pandemic by providing fantasies to maintain body condition during a pandemic. Urban athletes use the bodies in a disciplined manner to follow a lifestyle of sports to keep their bodies fit during a pandemic.

Abstract

Digital communication technology plays an important role in succeeding the message of the importance of government health communication and public health authorities during the COVID-19 pandemic. Nowadays both the Internet, social media and social networks have become an important source of health-related information about COVID-19 and the development of both the latest information, prevention and if exposed to what to do during isolation or communicating with local COVID-19 task force officers and the surrounding community. In addition, information related to COVID-19 is spreading faster than the coronavirus itself, which interferes with communication efforts related to government health, especially hoax and misguided news. Therefore, digital health literacy is the main competency to make the COVID-19 web-based information and service environment better and prevent misinformation received by the community. This paper tries to review the digital information literacy obtained by Open University students during exposure to covid-19, on whether there are obstacles received by UT students, what information they are looking for, how the search pattern of information and access to information used, and how the student can still attend lectures at the Open University both through webinar tutorials, online tutorials and UAS Take Home Exam despite exposure to covid-19. Teknologi komunikasi digital memainkan peran penting dalam mensukseskan pesan pentingnya komunikasi kesehatan pemerintah dan otoritas kesehatan masyarakat selama pandemi COVID-19. Saat ini baik Internet, sosial media dan sosial network telah menjadi sumber penting informasi terkait kesehatan tentang COVID-19 dan perkembangannya baik informasi terkini, pencegahan dan jika terpapar apa yang harus dilakukan selama isolasi atau pun berkomunikasi dengan petugas satgas COVID-19. Selain itu, informasi terkait COVID-19 menyebar lebih cepat dari virus corona itu sendiri yang mengganggu upaya komunikasi terkait kesehatan pemerintah khususnya berita hoaks. Oleh karena itu, literasi kesehatan digital merupakan kompetensi utama untuk membuat lingkungan informasi dan layanan berbasis web COVID-19 lebih baik dan mencegah misinformasi yang diterima oleh masyarakat. Tulisan ini mencoba mengulas literasi informasi digital yang didapatkan oleh mahasiswa Universitas Terbuka, apakah ada kendala yang diterima oleh mahasiswa UT, informasi apa yang mereka cari, bagaimana pola pencarian inforamasinya dan akses informasi yang digunakan, serta bagaimana mahasiswa tersebut tetap bisa mengikuti perkuliahan di Universitas Terbuka baik melalui tutorial webinar, tutorial online, dan UAS Take Home Exam meskipun terpapar covid-19.

Abstract

The Bandung Regency Archives and Libraries Service is one of the regional public libraries of Bandung Regency which has service innovations during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Bandung Regency Archives and Library Service provides a mobile user interface service named i-Sabilulungan. The purpose of this study was to determine the usefulness of the i-Sabilulungan application as a service innovation during the COVID-19 pandemic at the Bandung Regency Archives and Library Service. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research method with data collection techniques through observation and interviews. In this study, the informants were librarians managing the i-Sabilulungan mobile application. The results of this study reveal that i-Sabilulungan as a library service innovation for the Bandung Regency Archives and Libraries Service has fulfilled an important element in the application of the mobile user interface application. The i-Sabilulungan application has fulfilled 10 elements of the application of the mobile user interface application which consists of several elements including connectivity, simplicity, directional, informative, interactivity, user friendliness, comprehensiveness (completeness), continuity (sustainable), personalization (personalization) and internal elements (internal).

Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan menggambarkan beragam tayangan YouTube di masa Pandemi COVID-19 menyangkut kesehatan, ekonomi, dan sosial yang didekati dengan sudut pandang resilien yang memfokuskan diri pada adaptability dan survivability. Tulisan ini bersifat kualitatif dengan menggunakan beragam informasi di platform YouTube sebagai objek penulisan yang dianalisis secara deskriptif-kualitatif yang berada dalam rentang waktu Juni 2020–April 2021. Hasil analisis dari tayangan-tayangan tentang kesehatan, ekonomi, dan sosial menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan adaptasi (adapablity) diwujudkan dengan penerimaan realita, mendefinisikan realita, dan fleksibilitas. Selain itu, kemampuan bertahan (survivablity) terlihat dengan mencapai atau mempertahankan level fungsi dan struktur. Tulisan ini diharapkan memberi kontribusi baik terhadap konsep resilien dan aktualisasi resilien, khususnya bidang kesehatan, ekonomi, dan sosial dari tayangan YouTube dimasa Pandemi COVID-19.

Abstract

The emergence of the internet, which has the power of convergence and multiplatform, terminates the information boundaries. The information flow streaming through the internet creates numerous changes in various lifelines. One of the changes that are experienced is the information shift from print to online. This condition significantly affects print media companies, where customers and advertisers in newspapers begin migrating to a new platform, the internet. It becomes a big challenge for print media in addition to production costs that increase every year. In this era, if the print media do not immediately take action to adapt and innovate, it will be difficult to survive. Observing this development, it is essential to research to determine the strategies implemented by print media companies that currently exist to survive the disruption era. This study implemented a qualitative research method. This study’s results indicate that the print media's survival strategies are innovation, collaboration, maintaining good relationships with customers, and strengthening the journalistic content production to be more attractive.

Abstract

Program pendidikan yang ditawarkan UT harus dapat mengakomodasi tuntutan peserta didik akan kompetensi dan keterampilan yang mereka harapkan akan mereka peroleh dari proses studi mereka sesuai dengan tujuan yang telah ditetapkan program studi, serta dapat memenuhi kebutuhan pasar. Pengukuran terhadap kinerja lulusan suatu program studi dapat dilakukan melalui tracer study (penelusuran lulusan). Umpan balik yang diperoleh dari lulusan suatu program studi sangat dibutuhkan oleh perguruan tinggi untuk memperbaiki kualitas layanan dan pelaksanaan program yang diselenggarakan. Umpan balik ini juga bermanfaat pula bagi perguruan tinggi untuk memetakan dunia usaha dan industri agar jeda diantara kompetensi yang diperoleh alumni saat kuliah dengan tuntutan dunia kerja dapat diperkecil. Lokasi UPBJJ yang dijadikan sebagai lokasi penelitian terdiri atas Surakarta, Jakarta, Mataram, Banda Aceh, Malang, Yogyakarta, Bandung, Purwokerto, dan Bogor. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan informasi tentang profil kompetensi lulusan dan pengguna lulusan dari instansi-instansi. Selain itu, penelitian penelusuran lulusan dijadikan dasar untuk mengevaluasi kurikulum suatu program pendidikan untuk menunjukkan kelebihan dan kelemahan kurikulum sehingga menghasilkan saran perbaikan yang mendasar dan dikaitkan dengan kebijakan “kampus merdeka”.

Abstract

Supervising master's program theses frequently present difficulties, particularly in higher distance education, where the majority of students live in completely separate locations from their mentors. This condition requires a great deal of time, energy, and money. Additionally, the institution made it difficult to control the process. This study makes a recommendation for resolving this supervising dilemma. To accomplish these goals, an exploratory study is conducted through the design of a learning management system that will be used to supervise processes. The design establishes a synchronous and asynchronous communication system between students and mentors. The outcome is a description of the thesis supervising process's requirements and the thesis supervising model developed in Moodle.

Abstract

News framing about influencers, it is known how the mass media fight for their interests. The study analyzed three news stories about government influencers from three different media during the period of August 2020. The study used a qualitative approach with the Pan & Kosicki framing analysis method. The results show that Republika.co.id's framing emphasizes on finding data that causes debate. While Detik.com's framing directs the existence of influencers as corruption events, and Kompas.com's framing provides an overview of influencers who have a strong position as an information network because they are key opinion leaders in the digital era.
