Abstract

The manufacturing industry, particularly the automotive sector, faces significant challenges in managing lead time for spare parts procurement, which impacts operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. PT TACI, a company specializing in compressor production for vehicle air conditioning systems, encounters delay in the spare parts procurement process, affecting its production schedule. The purpose of this research is to analyze and improve the spare part procurement and operational lead time control processes at PT TACI. The study identifies barriers in the current processes, especially those related to technology, web integration, and supplier agreements. A qualitative approach was employed, consisting of in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and direct observations with key personnel in PT TACI’s Part Tool Inventory Control (PTIC) department. The findings reveal that delays primarily arise from manual approval processes, inefficient data integration between IMS and EPS systems, and inconsistent supplier performance. The research also emphasizes the role of digital technology, particularly web-based integration and supplier agreements, in enhancing procurement efficiency. Based on Business Process Improvement (BPI) principles, this study proposes a set of recommendations, including the automation of the approval process, real-time system integration, improved supplier collaboration, and the simplification of routine procurement processes. The implications of this research suggest that digital system optimization and stronger supplier relationships can significantly reduce lead times and improve operational performance. Future research could explore advanced technologies like AI or Blockchain for further procurement process optimization

Abstract

Research purposes:This study aims to analyze the influence of Social Media Marketing (SMM) on thrift clothing purchase intention with gender as a moderating variable. Research Methods: This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method of 400 respondents who have purchased or are interested in thrift fashion products. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression and moderated regression analysis (MRA) to test the interaction effect between SMM and gender. Originality/Novelty: The novelty of this study lies in the gender interaction approach in the digital marketing model for thrift products, which is still rarely studied in the context of Indonesian consumers. This study also contributes to the social media-based marketing literature with a focus on gender segmentation. Research Results: The results show that SMM has a positive and significant effect on thrift clothing purchase intention. Gender is proven to significantly moderate the relationship, with a stronger influence on the female consumer group. Findings from the multi-group analysis indicate that marketing strategies through social media are more effective in shaping women's purchase intention than men's. Implications: This study provides implications that digital marketing strategies need to be tailored to consumer demographic characteristics, particularly gender, to increase campaign effectiveness and purchase conversions in the thrift fashion industry.

Abstract

The development of digital marketplaces such as Shopee, Tokopedia, and TikTok Shop has posed serious challenges for small retail businesses, including in the city of Medan. This study aims to describe the marketing strategies applied by small retailers in the face of such competition. The approach used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation of five small retail stores in Medan. The results show that the most effective strategies include WhatsApp-based delivery services, social media utilization, customer loyalty programs, and local community approaches. Stores that implement adaptive strategies experience an increase in turnover of up to 35%, while stores that do not innovate tend to stagnate. Small retailers still have a competitive advantage in terms of emotional closeness, flexibility of service, and quick response to customers. This study concludes that the key to the success of small retail lies in the combination of a simple digital marketing strategy and a locality-based relational approach. Support from the government and the business community is urgently needed to improve digital literacy and the competitiveness of small retailers in the digital era.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a key element in industrial transformation, bringing significant changes in operational processes, management, and innovation. This study aims to explore the role of AI in various industrial sectors, including automation, data analysis, logistics management, and product development. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method by collecting research data through observation, interviews and literature studies. The results of the study show that the application of AI can increase efficiency, productivity, and the quality of industrial output as a whole. However, on the other hand, the adoption of this technology also has a major impact on human resources (HR). This study found that AI shifts the need for labor from manual skills to technology-based skills, creating the need for reskilling and upskilling. In addition, this shift presents social challenges, such as the potential for structural unemployment due to the reduction of routine job roles. However, AI also opens up new opportunities, such as jobs in data analysis and AI-based system management. This study concludes that the role of AI in industry must be balanced with strategic policies that support HR development, to ensure that this transformation has a positive impact on sustainability. This includes training programs, increasing access to technology, and adapting to changes in the work ecosystem in the digital era.

Abstract

This study discusses the application of talent management in the context of public sector organizations using the theoretical framework of the Social Exchange System (SET). Through a literature review and a qualitative approach, the study highlights the importance of effective talent management strategies, including the fulfillment of psychological contracts and a supportive organizational culture, to improve the performance and retention of qualified employees. The results show that the success of talent management depends on the strategic mindset of talent managers who prioritize the process of recruiting, identifying, developing, and maintaining positive relationships with the talented workforce. Research recommendations include the development of an integrative model that combines these factors and the need for further studies in other sectors such as SOEs and companies listed on the IDX. These findings confirm that a comprehensive talent management approach can address public sector challenges such as workforce shortages and early retirement, thereby improving organizational performance and service quality.

Abstract

Climate change has emerged not only as an environmental and scientific concern but as a profoundly political issue, shaping and being shaped by international relations, economic development, and power dynamics. This paper examines the political dimensions of climate change, emphasizing the role of international cooperation and global governance in addressing the crisis. It analyzes key multilateral frameworks such as the UNFCCC and the Paris Agreement, as well as the contributions of institutions like the IPCC. Despite growing consensus and increased participation, effective global action is undermined by geopolitical tensions, inequality, and weak enforcement mechanisms. The study argues that while progress has been made, significant reforms in global governance focused on equity, transparency, and accountability are essential for achieving meaningful and lasting climate outcomes.

Abstract

Academic administration services are a crucial component in supporting the smooth running of higher education, particularly within the Faculty of Vocational Studies, which emphasizes speed, accuracy, and efficiency. This study aims to evaluate the quality of academic administration services at the Faculty of Vocational Studies, University of North Sumatra, based on student perceptions, identify barriers in the service process, and explore user expectations and input on service quality improvements. The approach used was descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation of 10 purposively selected respondents. The results showed that service quality was considered quite good in terms of reliability and tangibles, but weaknesses remained in the dimensions of responsiveness, empathy, and assurance. Obstacles found included: lack of clarity in procedural information, unresponsiveness from staff, the absence of an online document tracking system, and minimal empathy in service communications. Service users expect improvements in interpersonal communication, procedural consistency, and accelerated service through the digitization of the administrative system. Therefore, improving the quality of academic administration services needs to focus on strengthening staff competencies, developing technology-based service systems, and establishing a humanistic and responsive service culture.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a crucial role in Indonesia’s economy, yet many continue to face challenges in business monitoring, coordination, and structured reporting. This study designs and evaluates a digital monitoring application tailored for the UMKM Corner community—a collaborative MSME group in Malang. Developed using a user-centered and community-based approach, the system supports daily transaction logging, product stock alerts, and real-time performance reporting through a coordinator dashboard. Field testing and TAM-based user evaluation reveal improvements in reporting consistency, internal coordination, and overall satisfaction. By emphasizing ease of use and managerial relevance, the application offers a replicable framework to strengthen group-based MSME governance and promote data-driven decision-making in similar business environments.
