Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the persuasive communication of the Information and Counseling Customer Complaints Unit at RSUD Dr. M Yunus Bengkulu. This study used qualitative research with data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The theoretical basis used was the concept of persuasive communication according to De Vito (2011: 120), namely the nature that strengthens, provides illustrations, and offers information. The results of the study show that first, Reinforcing Properties; Persuasive communication applied by UPPIK to patients. Characteristics that can be strengthened include mutual respect and acceptance of differences in various matters as a good thing, tolerance for their different interests and carrying out joint activities in a community environment. Second, Providing Illustrations; Shown by the patient The use of illustrations will make it easier for the message/explanation to be understood by the patient. Third, Presenting Information; Presenting information in a persuasive manner refers to the message (speech or expression) that the UPPIK officer wants the patient to record or transmit from the message conveyed. Thus, it can be concluded that UPPIK officers apply mutual respect and make it easier to convey messages so that they form a character that strengthens, provides illustrations, and provides information in solving patients’ problems.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the online game addiction to adolescent social interactions in Marga Jaya village, Padang Jaya district, North Bengkulu district. This study uses quantitative research methods using questionnaires as a tool to obtain the necessary data. In this study using statistical calculations using simple linear regression analysis. The negative results of online games have a significant (opposite) effect on adolescent social interactions, this is based on the t test which shows the significance of t count < t table, or (-10.354) < (-1.994) ) which means that the lower addiction to playing online games respondents, social interaction remains good, so the hypothesis is good that there is an influence between online game addiction (X) on adolescent social interaction (Y).

Abstract

This thesis is entitled The Impact of Dilan 1990 Movie on students’ behavior of at SMA Negeri 1 of South Bengkulu. This study aims to determine the impact of Dilan 1990 Movie on students’ behavior of at SMA Negeri 1 of South Bengkulu. This research uses quantitative research. The object of this research is the students of SMA Negeri 1 of South Bengkulu, the method used by the writer in this research is survey and documentation, the theory used in this research is the theory of Television Watching Pattern and theory Attribution. The data analysis technique used is the Likert Scale where the author uses the scale to determine the results of the answers from the respondents. The next stage in this test, the writer uses the correlation coefficient test to measure the strength of the correlation between the two variables based on the correlation coefficient interpretation, after that the correlation significance and determination coefficient test is carried out to see the effect of Dilan 1990 Movie on students’ behavior of at SMA Negeri 1 of South Bengkulu. In this study, the writer used the SPSS 26 application for the test. Based on the results of research and discussion on the Impact of Dilan 1990 Movie on students’ behavior of at SMA Negeri 1 of South Bengkulu, the correlation between the two variables is very low, insignificant and not unidirectional. This is shown from the results of the Correlation Coefficient test, the value obtained is -0,202 with a significance number of 0.05 (very low). Therefore, it can be concluded that there is no impact on students’ behavior of SMA Negeri 1 of South Bengkulu.

Abstract

Based on the background of the problem, this study aims to determine the dependence of YouTube content among culinary entrepreneurs in Bengkulu City. This research is qualitative. The data collection technique of this research used the method of observation, interviews, and documentation. The theory used in this research is the theory according to Melvin Defluer and Sandra Ball Roceach. (1976) Media Dependency Theory. The results of this study reveal that Culinary Entrepreneurs use YouTube to view recipes and also to fulfill their business needs. Dependence on YouTube content can be seen by their frequent access to YouTube. This culinary entrepreneur's dependence on YouTube is in the form of accessing YouTube every day for eight hours to find information about culinary, both in the form of recipes and cooking tutorials.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the teachers’ efforts in creating effective learning communication by face to face during PPKM era. During Covid-19 pandemic, it is allowed to hold outdoor activities in PPKM era with health protocol. But until now, since 19 October 2021 until 8 November 2021, Bengkulu City in Bengkulu Province was in Level 2 PPKM. Make any rules are allowed to be executed especially learning and teaching process. The research method is descriptive qualitative by using effective communication theory according to effective communication law by Prijosaksono Sember (2002) in Nofrion (2019:138). Stated that there are five effective communication laws which abbreviated into one word which reflect the effective communication essense, it is REACH (Respect, Empathy, Audible, Clarity, Humble). The result of the research shows that the teachers effort in creating effective communication learning with face to face in PPKM era by using several words “halo”, “anak sholeh”,”RA Bina Ilmu”,”yel-yel yukk”. It can be concluded that the teachers’ efforts at Raudhatul Athfal (RA) Bina Ilmu in creating effective communication learning has been run well.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Crisis Communication Strategy carried out by PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia II (Persero) Branch of Bengkulu related to land disputes with the community. This research is a qualitative descriptive research that uses data collection by means of interviews, observation and documentation. According to the theory put forward (Kriyantono, 2015), the results of the study show that several steps in the crisis communication strategy of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II (Persero) Branch of Bengkulu have been implemented well, namely having internal and external communication teams to resolve problems, confirm and contact PWI ((Indonesian Journalists Association) regarding media that reporting negative information, providing facts to the public in the form of land ownership rights, holding press conferences and answering questions from the mass media while still implementing health protocols in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic, maintaining reputational communication by holding activities, having a one-way communication system, namely coordination between the legal and internal control divisions as well as the public relations and customer service divisions, maintaining empathetic communication by always using a polite style of language and without mentioning the real names of the persons concerned, does not cover up information within the company related to the problems that occur, is also careful in conveying information to the public in order to maintain the good name of the company, and opens communication channels to the public using mass media, websites and call centers available in the company.

Abstract

The Beterang ritual ceremony (Ka'aik Nari) is the original culture of Serawai tribe, South Bengkulu Regency. The tribe is an indigenous people in Bengkulu Province. They perform the Beterang ritual ceremony (Ka'aik Nari) for the girls who are starting to enter their teens or puberty, aged 6-12 years. The child who is in Ka'aik Narikan undergoes several traditional rituals including going to Aik and Nari so that it is named Ka'aik Nari. This study aims to determine the meaning of the symbol in the Beterang (Ka'aik Nari) ceremony for Serawai people, South Bengkulu Regency. The type of research used is Descriptive-Qualitative, where the research explains the Beterang (Ka'aik Nari) ritual ceremony. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, documentation. Based on the results of the research found the Meaning of Symbols in the Beterang Ceremony (Ka'aik Nari) for Girls of Serawai Tribe in South Bengkulu Regency, based on the results of the research it can be seen that there are many symbolic meanings contained in it, one of which is the Meaning and Symbol of Beterang (Ka'aik Nari) found in every series, conditions and completeness of the Beterang ceremony (Ka'aik Nari). This can be seen in the flowers used which have various meanings, each movement has a meaning such as holding hands means praying, wiping the face and holding the heels means cleaning, bathing means purifying. The message contained in the Beterang ceremony (Ka'aik Nari) is to purify a child and want to show or tell people by celebrating dancing together.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the Bengkulu Surf Instagram account as a promotional medium in increasing surfing tourism at Tapak Paderi Bengkulu City. The purpose of this study was to find out Marketing Communication for Surfing Tourism Through Bengkulu Surf Instagram Accounts as a promotional medium (Studies on Surfing Tourism IG Accounts in Tapak Paderi Bengkulu City). The type of research used in this research is a research study with a qualitative descriptive approach. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Bengkulu Surf account has used promotions through Instagram social media by utilizing Instagram features related to promotions (poromotion mix) in the form of addeveritising (advertising), public relations (public relations), sales promotion (sales) and personal selling (personal selling) maximize the promotion. Having features on Instagram adds to the advantage of promoting the @bengkulusurf account because it's easier and more efficient. This proves that Instagram is an online social media that is very appropriate in carrying out promotional activities.

Abstract

The increase in subsidized fuel prices is one of the problems that is of concern to all levels of society, especially for those who use subsidized fuel oil as their main fuel. This of course attracted the attention of the media team to make this issue a topic of news. The news presented can be seen from different perspectives in each media. This research was conducted to find out how the attitude of the TribunBengkulu.com media in reporting the fuel price policy was analyzed through its reports. The analysis used is Robert N.Etman's Framing Analysis which consists of four elements, namely Define Problems, Diagnose Cause (estimate the causes of problems), Make Moral Judgments (make moral decisions), and Treatment Recommendations (Emphasize resolution). The results of the study show that most of the reporting from TribunBengkulu.com is dominated by news that is more supportive of the government. It is very rare for TribunBengkulu.com to publish information that is inconsistent with government information, such as information about people's rejection of the fuel subsidy increase policy. On the other hand, TribunBengkulu.com is playing it safe by reporting plans to increase subsidized fuel prices.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the reasons for using the Tantan application in active users of the Tantan application who have worked, to determine the self-disclosure of Tantan application users, and to determine the obstacles of Tantan users in finding a partner. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The number of informants in this study were 6 people. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique used was the Miles and Huberman model analysis technique which was carried out in 3 stages, namely: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. This research reveals that the reason Tantan users are just for fun and just want to make friends from online dating apps. Self-disclosure through Tantan is done to feel closer and more comfortable in the stage of meeting new people. The self-disclosure made by Tantan users who were informants in this study were in the form of age, occupation, hobbies, experiences, family circumstances, and love. The obstacles that Tantan users can find in finding a partner are busy work, easily boredom, closed nature and difficulty opening up.
