Abstract

The decline in immunization coverage in Indonesia is followed by high mortality and morbidity for toddlers, one of which is caused by Acute Respiratory Infections. The government conducted an immunization program aimed at primary prevention of diseases that cause ARI with pentabio immunization. This research aims to determine the correlation between the completeness and accuracy of pentabio basic immunization with the incidence of acute respiratory infections (ARI) in toddlers in Dinoyo Public Health Center in Malang. The design of this research was correlation analytic using documentation studies on medical records, immunization registers and infant cohorts through a retrospective approach. The sample used was all sick toddlers who checked themselves in Dinoyo Community Health Center Malang City in July-September 2019 who met the inclusion criteria of 164 respondents using total sampling technique. The results of the analysis using the Chi Square Test obtained p-value of 0,000 (? ? 0.05) followed by a Contingency Coefficient Test with a value of C = 0.426 indicating that there was a significant relationship between the completeness and accuracy of pentabio basic immunization with the incidence of acute respiratory infections at toddler at Dinoyo Public Health Center in Malang City with a moderate level of closeness. Pentabio basic immunization given precisely and completely can prevent ARI in toddlers. Health facilities and midwives are expected to increase public awareness about the importance of completeness and accuracy in providing basic immunization for pentabio according to the basic immunization delivery schedule. Abstract

The high problem of adolescent reproductive health is caused by the lack of basic information about reproductive health in adolescents, so adolescents tend to engage in risky behavior. The study was conducted to analyze the effect of peer education on the level of knowledge and attitudes of adolescents about reproductive health. The design of this study was a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest group design. Data collection using interview and observation methods. The study population was all groups of adolescents in Malang City and Regency, with a sample of adolescents who were in Malang City (Kedung Kandang Health Center Area) and Malang District (Jabung Health Center Area). The sample size was 85 teenagers selected by simple random sampling. Data collection using a questionnaire. Data were processed descriptively and analyzed using a statistical t-test. The results showed that there were significant differences in pre-test and post-test in the level of adolescent knowledge (p value <0.001) and adolescent attitudes (p value <0.001). Most adolescents in the intervention group (providing counseling by peer educators) did not support free sex and early marriage (97.3%). Health education by peer educators can remind adolescents' knowledge and attitudes about reproductive health, so that it can be developed for promotive efforts for adolescents. Abstract

The success of breastfeeding is determined in the first 24 hours after the mother gives birth. In the first hours after giving birth, the hormone oxytocin is released which is responsible for the production of breast milk, namely through Early Initiation of Breastfeeding (IMD). IMD is generally only applied to mothers with normal deliveries, so this study aims to analyze the effect of IMD on the smoothness of breastfeeding in mothers who gave birth by caesarean section. This study uses a quasi-experimental design with a posttest only with control group design. The study population was all mothers who gave birth by cesarean section at the Curup Hospital, Kab. Rejang Lebong Bengkulu Province for 24 days was carried out from December 08, 2020 to December 31, 2020. Sampling was carried out purposively with a total of 20 people in the intervention group and 20 people in the control group. In the intervention group, IMD was given for one hour, while the control group was not given IMD. The statistical test used is the dependent t-test. The results of the analysis showed that there were significant differences in the parameters of smooth breastfeeding, namely the frequency of feeding, the frequency of urination, the frequency of defecation, the squeeze of breast milk, and the feeling of tension in the breasts, in the intervention group and the control group (p-value <0.001). This shows that there is an effect of IMD on the smoothness of breastfeeding in mothers giving birth by cesarean section. IMD can stimulate the secretion of the hormone prolactin which is in charge of producing breast milk, and the hormone oxytocin for the release of breast milk, causing smooth milk production. The implementation of IMD can be included in hospital service standards not only for mothers with normal deliveries, but also for mothers with cesarean delivery. Abstract

Neonatal jaundice is one of the causes of neonatal death in Indonesia. Jaundice can be caused by the accumulation of unconjugated bilirubin, one of which is due to lack of breastfeeding in the first week of birth. This literature study aimed to determine the relationship between the frequency of breastfeeding and the incidence of neonatal jaundice. This literature study was conducted by determining the topic and formulating the PICOT. The criteria for articles reviewed by articles spanning the years 2016-2020 and using the Google Scholar database. The keywords used were “ASI” AND “Icterus neonatorum” or “Breastfeeding” AND “Jaundice”. Based on a review of 5 research articles, it was found that if breastfeeding was carried out with a frequency of 8-12 times per day, newborns could experience physiological neonatal jaundice. A review of 4 articles showed that there was a relationship between breastfeeding and neonatal jaundice and 1 article showed that there was no relationship between breastfeeding and neonatal jaundice. The more frequent breastfeeding, the lower the possibility of neonatal jaundice. This shows the role of midwives and breastfeeding counselors in providing IEC during pregnancy and breastfeeding, breastfeeding practices include the position of the breast attachment, implementation of IMD in newborns without complications, and breastfeeding immediately after the baby is born, all of which can support the frequency of breastfeeding and reduce the incidence of neonatal jaundice Keywords: Breastfeeding, Neonatal Jaundice

Abstract

The first years of life are a golden period for brain growth and development of children, especially language. Speech and language disorders are one of the most common causes of developmental disorders in children. The aim of this study was to determine the factors that most influence language development in children aged 1 year. The design used analytic survey with cross sectional approach, with a population of 80 respondents aged 1 year, with a sample of 67 respondents who met the inclusion criteria. The research instrument used a questionnaire and a Denver II sheet. Data were analyzed by logistic regression test with the results of the gender variable obtained ? value 0.013 and the care variable obtained ? value 0.044, then gender and parenting affect the language development in children aged 1 year. In an effort to reduce the prevalence of language delays in children aged 1 year, midwives should conduct early detection or monitoring language development that can be done by using Denver II to optimize children's language development. Abstract

Complications of pregnancy and childbirth are a contributing factor in maternal mortality due to being at “4 extreme conditions” (too young, too old, too close to birth spacing, and too much). This research aimed to to show the description of pregnancy and childbirth complications at “4 extreme conditions” in Puskesmas Jabung, Malang Regency. This research used a descriptive design with a retrospective approach. The research population was all pregnant and childbirth women with 4 extreme conditions who experienced complications of pregnancy and childbirth and were recorded in the mother cohort and labor report books from January 1 to September 30 2019 with total sampling technique, obtained a sample of 52 respondents. The research instrument used data collection tables to identify complications of pregnancy and childbirth that occurred in each respondent. Data analysis used univariate analysis by processing data into percentages. The results showed that the most pregnancy complications were anemia (59%), pre-eclampsia / eclampsia (31%), and multiple complications in pregnancy are anemia and pre-eclampsia / eclampsia (10%), while the most labor complications were preterm birth ( 42%), postpartum hemorrhage (25%), prolonged labor (19%), premature rupture of membranes (8%), and multiple complications are premature rupture of membranes and preterm birth and prolonged labor and postpartum hemorrhage, respectively 3%. Anemia and preterm birth are the highest incidence of pregnancy and childbirth complicatios at 4 extreme condition. Based on the results of this studies should be material information or insight for the community, especially women and families to consider planning the right time to get pregnant. Abstract

Maternal mortality is still a challenge for the health system in Indonesia, one of the causes is bleeding during pregnancy as a result of the 3 Late (3 T) namely: late in making a decision/diagnosing, being late in getting to the referral place and being late in getting treatment. Detection of 3T bleeding in pregnant women can be done by anyone, including cadres as the spearhead in assisting pregnant women because of their presence in the community. This study aimed to analyse the competence of cadres in detecting and managing bleeding pregnant women according to their duties in the community to prevent 3T, one of which is animation media for bleeding pregnant women. The research design was a pre-experimental design using a quasi-experimental design using a pre-test-post-test design descriptive statistical analysis with a cross-sectional approach, a sample of 60 cadres who met the inclusion criteria (30 Parangargo and 30 Sidorahayu) in the working area of ??the Wagir Public Health Center, Malang Regency. The results of the pre-test-post-test between the control group and the treatment group showed the independence of cadres in the treatment of bleeding to perform 3T (p-value <0.001) and an increase in independence towards independence in treatment with the use of animation media between the control and treatment groups (p-value 0.001), with the acceptance of H1, an animation method that can provide a deeper understanding of the differences in blood flow, the color that occurs in early or late pregnancy, so that cadres in management are related to preventing 3 T according to the role of cadres in the community by escorting them to the location health services/ report to the regional midwife. Abstract

Mother's concern before pregnancy to check her nutritional status is still very lacking, this will result in the undetectability of nutritional problems experienced by mothers, such as anemia and chronic energy deficiency. The study aimed to determine the attitudes of pregnant women about antenatal care using the Maternal Cycle Simulation media. The design of this study was pre-experimental with One Group Pre-Test-Post Test design. The sample used was pregnant women aged 22-28 weeks who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria of 27 people with simple random sampling technique. Health education was carried out in three meetings, including pretest and provision of media Maternal Cycle Simulation, explanation of media use, demonstration of media use, re-demonstration by pregnant women using media, re-examination and monitoring using media, and posttest. The results showed 74% of mothers had a negative attitude in antenatal care at the time of the pretest and there was a decrease in the negative attitude rate to 15% after receiving the Maternal Cycle Simulation media with a p value <0.001, which means there was an influence of the use of the Maternal Cycle Simulation media towards the attitude of pregnant women about antenatal care care.
