Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of moringa fermentation supplementation in the diet on the blood metabolites of local male sheep on the consumption of BK and blood metabolites. This research was conducted from May to June 2021 at the sheep farm owned by Bp. Miranto is located in Sedayu Village, Tulung District, Klaten Regency. The material used was 14 male local sheep aged 1 year with an average weight of 18.69 kg. The equipment used is a scale, stationery, cleaning equipment, syringe, cotton, ice flask, ice cubes, and alcohol. This study used a completely randomized design (RAL) with 2 treatments and 6 replications. The treatments were T0 = Moringa leaf fermented supplement 0% + 40% concentrate + 60% elephant grass, T1 = Moringa fermentation supplement 25% + 25% concentrate + 50% elephant grass. The results of the study were analyzed using the ANNOVA test, the results of this study were that the administration of moringa fermented supplementation as much as 25% had a significant effect on BK consumption, namely reducing BK consumption but did not affect blood glucose levels, blood protein levels, blood urea levels, blood albumin levels, and blood glucose levels. blood triglycerides. This shows that Moringa fermentation provides higher nutrient quality, as seen with lower BK consumption producing the same blood metabolites in male local sheep. Keywords: Sheep, feed, Moringa leaves, fermentation, blood metabolites, BK consumption.

Abstract

Broiler chickens are the result of a livestock breeding process that aims to obtain poultry commodities with good growth performance. Broiler chicken productivity is influenced by rations, seeds and maintenance management. The efficiency of the use of feed ingredients in the ration is a major factor in broiler farming business. BSF (black soldier fly) maggot flour has good potential and is supportive in this regard. The material used is 60 broilers aged 1 day using DOC Superchick. Completely randomized method with unidirectional pattern with 4 treatments, 5 replications, each replication consisted of 3 tails. This study calculates the amount of Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) using a manual system and using partner guidelines in determining the FCR number in calculating mortality is carried out every 24 hours. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding BSF (black soldier fly) maggot flour with different levels on the performance of broiler chickens in the starter phase. The results showed that there was no significant effect (P<0.05). The provision of BSF maggot flour with levels of 0%, 5%, 10%, and 15% in the ration did not significantly affect the parameters of ration consumption, body weight gain, mortality and water consumption. However, the greater the level of BSF maggot usage, all parameters numerically increased starting from 0%, 5%, 10%, and 15% except for FCR which decreased in line with the addition of given maggot flour.

Abstract

This experiment aimed at determining the effect of doses of urea fertilizer and harvest age on the Dry Matter (DM), Crude Fiber (CF), Crude Protein (CP) and Organic Matter (OM) contents of corn fodder under hydroponic system. The planting experiment employed Factorial Completely Randomized Design (FCRD) with 4 main treatments i.e. P0 (zero levels of urea fertilizer), P1 (0.15 gram urea/L), P2 (0.3 gram urea/L), P3 (0.45 gram urea/L) and 3 sub-treatments i.e. the harvest age of 7 days, 14 days and 21 days. The treatments were replicated 3 times. The variables measured include Dry Matter (DM), Organic Matter (OM), Crude Protein (CP) and Crude Fibre (CF) of the corn fodder. Collected data were subjected to analysis of variance and if significant effects of treatments were identified then Duncan’s Multiple Range Test was employed. It was found that the interaction of the treatments did not significantly affect (P>0.05) all the variables measured. Doses of urea fertilizer only gave a highly significant effect (P<0.01) on CP content whilst harvest age gave highly significant effect (P<0.01) to all variables measured. It can concluded that adding doses of urea gave effect only on CP content of corn fodder under hydroponic system and harvest age gave effect on Dry Matter (DM), Organic Matter (OM), Crude Protein (CP) and Crude Fibre (CF) of the fodder produced. Harvest age of 14 days is suggested as it gave the highest DM, OM and CP content with the lowest CF content.
