Abstract

This study describes the relationship between the respondents’ reading proficiency level as demonstrated in their Lexile Scores and the following variables: Respondent- related Factors, Teacher Factors, School Factors, and Home Factors. The Theory of Performance (ToP) by Don Elger served as the basis to develop the research instrument, i.e., survey questionnaire. Seventy (70) grade six pupils were authorized by a private school in the Philippines to become the respondents of the study. Correlated with the aforementioned factors were the pupils’ reading Lexile Scores provided by Scholastic Philippines. The data were processed through the SPSS software using the Pearson Product- Moment Correlation Coefficient formula. Results revealed that among the four sets of factors, only Home Factors have a significant relationship with the Lexile Scores of the respondents. Furthermore, specific factors such as gender and mother’s occupation relate with the pupils’ reading proficiency level.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif dengan desain penelitian pre-experimental desain menggunakan One Group Pretest-Postest. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan observasi, angket dan tes. Sampel yang digunakan adalah sampel jenuh karena seluruh jumlah siswa kelas III dijadikan sampel. Berdasarkan pengolahan lembar observasi, diperoleh skor kategori baik atau sesuai dengan presentase yang didapatkan yaitu 90%. Guru menerapkan media pembelajaran buku cerita bergambar dengan baik di dalam kelas. Selain observasi, pengolahan angket secara keseluruhan diperoleh skor sebanyak 85% yang tergolong dalam kategori sangat kuat karena berada diantara 81%-100%. Hasil temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa merespon point angket sesuai dengan pilihan siswa. Pengaruh variabel bebas (media pembelajaran buku cerita bergambar) terhadap variabel terikat (minat baca siswa adalah 52,8% sedangkan sisanya 47,2% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain. Berdasarkan hal ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh media pembelajaran buku cerita bergambar terhadap minat baca siswa kelas III di MI Nurur Rohmah Kota Cirebon.Abstract: This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach with a pre-experimental research design using a one-group pretest-posttest. Data collection techniques in this study used observation, questionnaires, and tests. The sample used was a saturated sample because the entire number of third-grade students was sampled. Based on the processing of the observation sheet, a good category score was obtained, or in accordance with the percentage obtained, namely 90%. The teacher applies the picture storybook learning media well in the classroom. In addition to observation, the overall questionnaire processing obtained a score of 85%, which is classified in the very strong category because it is between 81% and 100%. These results show that students respond to the questionnaire points according to their choice. The influence of the independent variable (pictorial storybook learning media) on the dependent variable (students' reading interest) is 52.8% while the remaining 47.2% is influenced by other factors. As a result, it can be concluded that picture storybook learning media has an impact on the reading interest of third-grade students at MI Nurur Rohmah Cirebon City.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ reading comprehension skills using the text summarization technique in the 5th grade of SDN Kasunyatan. The subjects of this classroom action research (CAR) involved forty students. The data was collected using learning observation, reading comprehension tests, and documentation. The analysis of these data uses both qualitative and quantitative descriptive approaches. This study uses a text summarization technique as an action. The text summarization technique has four syntaxes. First is monitoring, which means that students read the text until they understand the reading material. Next is trimming down to take keywords from each paragraph, then combining these keywords and creating mind mapping. The last is calling; it means that students rewrite all things they remember about the reading text. This research shows that the text summarization techniques improved students’ reading comprehension skills, indicating an increase for each indicator.

Abstract

AbstrakIlmu pengetahuan dan teknologi terus berkembang, dengan berkembangnya IPTEK dapat mempengaruhi dari berbagai bidang kehidupan, terutama di bidang pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh e-learning terhadap hasil belajar siswa di SD Negeri 008 Simpang Gaung. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu 26 siswa SD Negeri 008 Simpang Gaung. Data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan teknik angket, tes dan dokumentasi. Selanjutnya data yang terkumpul dianalisa dengan menggunakan rumus persentase dan uji statistik regresi sederhana. Hasil analisa data melalui angket dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut: pada pelaksanaan E-Learning didapatkan angka 80,66% mencapai kategori ”Baik“, karena terletak pada interval 61% - 80%. Kemudian, berdasarkan data hasil tes yang dikerjakan oleh siswa dengan jumlah soal sebanyak 20 pertanyaan. Dari hasil tes tersebut didapatkan angka 87,31% dengan kategori ”Sangat Baik“, terletak pada interval 80% - 100%. Sehingga berdasarkan hasil analisa data dapat disimpulkan bahwa, terdapat pengaruh E-Learning terhadap hasil belajar siswa di SD Negeri 008 simpang Gaung. Dari hasil regresi didapatkan bahwa nilai F_hitung ≥ F_tabel. F_hitung 7,68 sedangkan F_tabel 4,26. Maka artinya terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan antara E-Learning terhadap hasil belajar siswa di SD Negeri 008 simpang gaung.Kata Kunci: Pembelajaran E-Learning, Hasil Belajar SiswaThe Impact of E-Learning on Elementary School Students' Learning OutcomesAbstractScience and technology continue to develop, and the development of science and technology can affect various fields of life, especially in education. This study aims to determine the effect of e-learning on student learning outcomes at SD Negeri 008 Simpang Gaung. This type of research is quantitative research. The subjects in this study were 26 students of SD Negeri 008 Simpang Gaung. The data in this study were collected using questionnaires, tests, and documentation techniques. Furthermore, the collected data were analyzed using the percentage formula and simple regression statistical tests. The results of data analysis through questionnaires can be concluded as follows: in the implementation of E-Learning, it was found that 80.66% reached the "good" category, located in the 61%-80% interval. Then, based on the test results, students filled out a total of 20 questions. From the results of the test, it was found that 87.31% was in the "Very Good" category, located in the 80%–100% interval. So based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that there is an effect of e-learning on student learning outcomes at SD Negeri 008 Simpang Gaung. From the regression results, it is found that the value of F_count is less than F_table. F_count 7.68 while F_table 4.26. So it means that E-Learning has a positive and significant influence on student learning outcomes at SD Negeri 008 Simpang Echo. Keywords: E-Learning, Learning, Student Learning Outcomes

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis keterampilan literasi digital guru Sekolah Dasar (SD). Metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan populasi 35 guru SD Kota Semarang yang dipilih secara random sampling. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner 25 komponen tentang keterampilan digital. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan MANOVA berbantuan aplikasi IBM SPSS versi 22. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan antara guru yang pernah mendapatkan pelatihan/ workshop pembelajaran digital/ TIK dengan yang belum mendapatkannya terhadap keterampilan teknis menggunakan teknologi digital, Sebaliknya, tidak terdapat perbedaan pada kompetensi digital guru pada aspek kemamapuan menggunakan dan menerapkan teknologi digital dalam situasi kerja berbeda dan pada aspek kemampuan mengevaluasi teknologi digital. Hasil uji MANOVA menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan antara guru sertifikasi maupun guru yang belum bersertifikasi ditinjau dari keterampilan teknis menggunakan teknologi digital, kemampuan menggunakan dan menerapkan teknologi digital dalam situasi kerja yang berbeda, kemampuan mengevaluasi teknologi digital secara kritis untuk masalah etika, keterbatasan, dan tantangannya, motivasi untuk berpartisipasi dan berkomitmen pada budaya digital. Penelitian berikutnya perlu mengekplorasi lebih dalam terkait kompetensi digital guru SD utamanya yang telah mendapatkan pelatihan dan sertifikasi pendidik.Abstract: This study aims to analyze the digital literacy skills of elementary school teachers. Quantitative research method with a population of 35 elementary school teachers in Semarang City selected by random sampling. The research data were collected through a 25-component questionnaire on digital skills. The results showed a difference between teachers who had received training/ workshops on digital learning/ ICT and those who had yet to receive it on the technical skills of using digital technology. In contrast, teachers' digital competence was the same in the aspect of the ability to use and apply digital technology in different work situations and the ability to evaluate digital technology. The Manova test results show no difference between certified teachers and uncertified teachers in terms of technical skills using digital technology, the ability to use and apply digital technology in different work situations, the ability to critically evaluate digital technology for ethical issues, limitations, and challenges, motivation to participate and commit to digital culture. Future research needs to explore the digital competencies of primary school teachers, especially those who have received educator training and certification.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran matematika serta kurangnya variasi model pembelajaran yang diterapkan oleh guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran think-pair-share terhadap motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa kelas V SD Saripan pada materi bangun ruang. Penelitian ini menggunakan one-group pretest-posttest design dengan kuesioner dan tes sebagai instrumennya. Teknik analisis data meliputi analisis data instrumen, uji prasyarat, dan uji hipotesis. Hasil uji-t pada data motivasi diperoleh nilai signifikan 0,000 yang lebih kecil dari 0,05 sehingga Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Hasil uji t terhadap data hasil belajar diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,000 yang lebih kecil dari 0,05 sehingga Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Selanjutnya nilai Rsquare menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran think-pair-share berpengaruh terhadap motivasi belajar siswa sebesar 82,5% dan berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar sebesar 88,1%. Dengan demikian, hasil penelitian ini merekomendasikan penggunaan model pembelajaran think-pair-share pada materi geometri untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa Sekolah Dasar.AbstractThis research is motivated by the low motivation and learning outcomes of students in mathematics and the need for more variety in learning models applied by teachers. This research aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of the impact of the think-pair-share learning method on the motivation and learning achievements of fifth-grade students at Saripan Elementary School about geometric concepts. A one-group pretest-posttest design was utilized to achieve this objective, and research tools such as questionnaires and tests were employed. The collected data were meticulously analyzed using instrument data analysis, prerequisite testing, and hypothesis testing techniques. The t-test results suggest that the use of the think-pair-share learning approach significantly impacts student motivation and learning outcomes. Moreover, the R-square value of 82.5% for student motivation and 88.1% for effective learning outcomes signify that the Think Pair Share method is highly recommended for teaching geometric material in elementary schools as it can significantly enhance student motivation and learning outcomes.

Abstract

AbstrakPengembangan Media pembelajaran Pop-Up Book pada mata pelajaran IPA di SD Negeri 4 Metro Barat dilatarbelakangi oleh masih kurangnya media pembelajaran sehingga menyebabkan kurang minat siswa dalam belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah media Pop-Up Book layak digunakan dan dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa SD Negeri 4 Metro Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian Research and Development (RD) model pengembangan ADDIE yang terdiri dari lima tahapan yaitu (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation). Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu Observasi, Kuesioner dan Dokumentasi. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan rumus persentase, Analisis data yang digunakan untuk mengetahui kelayakan media berdasarkan uji validasi ahli dan siswa terhadap Media Pop-Up Book. Hasil penelitian diperoleh uji validasi ahli media memperoleh skor secara keseluruhan 72 dengan persentase 90% termasuk kategori “Sangat Layak”. Uji validitas kepada ahli materi memperoleh skor 36 dengan persentase 80% kategori “Sangat Layak”. Uji validitas kepada guru kelas memperoleh skor 38 dengan persentase sebesar 84,4% kategori “Sangat Layak”. Kemudian hasil tanggapan siswa terhadap media Pop-Up Book mendapatkan skor dengan persentase 98,4% kategori “Sangat Layak”. Untuk pedoman observasi diperoleh skor 453 dengan persentase 82,3% kategori “Sangat Baik”. Dari uji validitas yang telah dilakukan dapat dikatakan bahwa media Pop-Up Book layak digunakan dan dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa SD Negeri 4 Metro Barat pada mata pelajaran IPA Kelas V Materi sistem pernapasan manusia dan hewan.AbstractThe development of Pop-Up Book learning media in science subjects at SD Negeri 4 Metro Barat is motivated by the need for more learning media that causes less student interest in learning. This study aims to determine whether the Pop-Up Book media is feasible and can increase student interest in learning SD Negeri 4 Metro Barat. This research uses the Research and Development (RD) research approach of the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages, namely (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The data collection techniques used were observation, questionnaire, and documentation. Data processing is done using the percentage formula. Data analysis is used to determine the feasibility of media based on expert and student validation tests of Pop-Up Book Media. The results obtained by the media expert validation test obtained an overall score of 72 with a percentage of 90%, including the "Very Feasible" category. The validation test for the material expert obtained a score of 36 with a percentage of 80% in the "Very Feasible" category. The validation test for the class teacher obtained a score of 38 with a percentage of 84.4% in the "Very Feasible" category. Then the results of student responses to Pop-Up Book media get a score with a percentage of 98.4% in the "Very Feasible" category. For the observation guideline, a score of 453 was obtained, with a percentage of 82.3% in the "Very Good" category. From the validity test that has been carried out, the Pop-Up Book media is feasible to use and can increase the learning interest of SD Negeri 4 Metro Barat students in the fifth-grade science subject of human and animal respiratory system material.

Abstract

This study aimed at improving solid waste disposal in schools by using the composting approach. The theory that underpinned this study was Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (3R) theory, while the necessary data were gathered by using a synthesis and integration approach. The following three research questions were framed to guide the conduct of the study: How important is solid waste management in schools? What pedagogical techniques are most effective for promoting environmental sustainability by teaching composting in schools? What are the challenges involved in the composting process at school?  The synthesis and integration approach assisted in integrating concepts from different sources and synthesizing those concepts to create a comprehensive and cogent argument in accordance with emerging themes. It was discovered that solid waste management in schools was particularly crucial since schools produced a lot of rubbish and that waste may affect the environment negatively. Composting is essential to improve school solid waste because it enhances soil health, decreases waste, and encourages sustainable agricultural methods. Three pedagogical techniques that could be utilized to facilitate the teaching and learning of composting in schools have evolved based on the theoretical framework and the literature provided. Project-based learning (PBL), hands-on learning, and inquiry-based learning were some of the new pedagogical strategies. However, some of the challenges with the composting process were identified as follows: difficulty in regulating the moisture level of the compost, keeping the proper balance of carbon and nitrogen in the compost pile, and inability to educate students and staff about the composting process.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media audio visual terhadap hasil belajar siswa Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Miftahus Shibyan Semarang pada mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam. Metode kuasi eksperimen telah dilakukan dengan metode observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Hasil observasi sebelum pemberian perlakuan menunjukkan bahwa siswa terlihat pasif, merasa bosan, sulit memahami materi,  mengantuk, tidak semangat, dan kurang aktif di dalam proses pembelajaran. Selain itu, hasil belajar siswa juga tergolong rendah.  Adapun hasil observasi setelah pemberian perlakuan menunjukkan bahwa siswa terlihat aktif, lebih semangat, antusias dalam belajar, termotivasi, dapat memahamkan materi. Selain itu, hasil belajar siswa setelah pemberian perlakuan juga mengalami peningkatan karena nilai rata-rata pre-test pada kelas eksperimen adalah 53,065 dan nilai post-test adalah 85,645. Selain itu, hasil perhitungan koefisien uji regresi linier sederhana diperoleh t_hitung  4,073   t_(tabel )  2,022 dengan nilai sig. 0,000 0,05, artinya terdapat pengaruh variabel X terhadap variiabel Y. Dengan demikian, penggunaan media audio visual terbukti berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dengan kontribusi sebesar 36,4%, dan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain.AbstractThis study aims to determine the effect of the use of audio-visual media on the learning outcomes of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Miftahus Shibyan Semarang students in Natural Science subjects. Quasi-experimental methods have been carried out with observation, test, and documentation methods. The results of observations before giving treatment showed that students looked passive, bored, difficult to understand the material, sleepy, not enthusiastic, and less active in the learning process. In addition, student learning outcomes are also relatively low.  The results of observations after giving treatment showed that students looked active, more enthusiastic, enthusiastic in learning, motivated, and able to understand the material. In addition, student learning outcomes after treatment also increased because the average pre-test score in the experimental class was 53,065, and the post-test score was 85,645. In addition, the simple linear regression test coefficient calculation results were obtained t_hitung 4.073 t_(table) 2.022 with sig values. 0.000 0.05, meaning that variable X influences variability Y. Thus, the use of audio-visual media is proven to affect the learning outcomes of Natural Sciences with a contribution of 36.4%, and the rest is influenced by other variables.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dan meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa kelas II Sekolah Dasar melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC). Metode penelitian tindakan kelas digunakan dengan melibatkan siswa kelas II di Sekolah Dasar Negeri 1 Kayugeritan sebagai subjek penelitian. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran CIRC efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa kelas II Sekolah Dasar, dengan persentase keberhasilan belajar meningkat secara signifikan dari 24% pada siklus pertama menjadi 66% pada siklus kedua, dan mencapai 94% pada siklus ketiga. Pengamatan selama proses pembelajaran mengungkapkan bahwa faktor-faktor yang mendukung peningkatan keterampilan menulis melalui penerapan CIRC adalah keterlibatan siswa dalam kerja kelompok, keberanian siswa dalam mengemukakan pendapat, keterampilan berpikir kritis, konsentrasi belajar, dan fokus dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini memiliki implikasi penting dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa pada tingkat sekolah dasar, dan temuan penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi penting dalam pemahaman kita tentang pendekatan pembelajaran yang berfokus pada keterampilan menulis siswa Sekolah Dasar kelas rendah.Abstract: This research aims to explore and enhance the writing skills of second-grade students in Elementary School through the implementation of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) instructional model. The study utilizes an action research method, involving second-grade students from Negeri 1 Kayugeritan Elementary School as research subjects. Data were collected through tests and observations. The results of the study demonstrate that the use of the CIRC instructional model is effective in improving the writing skills of second-grade students in Elementary School. The percentage of students' learning success significantly increased from 24% in the first cycle to 66% in the second cycle, and reached 94% in the third cycle. Observations during the learning process revealed that factors supporting the improvement of writing skills through the application of CIRC include students' engagement in group work, their courage in expressing opinions, critical thinking skills, concentration in learning, and focus in the learning process. This research has important implications for enhancing the writing skills of students at the elementary school level, and the findings contribute significantly to our understanding of instructional approaches that focus on writing skills for lower-grade Elementary School students.
