Abstract

21st century education demands holistic development of students’ character, not only in cognitive aspect but also affective and psychomotor. One approach that can be used to achieve this goal is Problem Based Learning (PBL), a student-centered learning model that emphasizes solving real problems as the context of learning. This study aims to develop and analyze the implementation of PBL model integrated with religious values in order to form positive habits and improve students’ understanding of learning materials in grade V of elementary school. The research method used is classroom action research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were grade V students in one of the elementary schools in Cilacap Regency, totaling 43 students. The instruments used include student habituation observation sheets, material understanding tests, attitude questionnaires, and documentation of learning activities. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of PBL model based on religious values has a positive impact on the formation of students’ character, especially in terms of honesty, responsibility, cooperation, and caring. This habituation is naturally integrated through problem-solving scenarios that are linked to the context of daily life and religious values, such as fairness in sharing, helping each other, and respecting the opinions of others. The integration of religious values in learning not only enriches the context of problem solving, but also encourages students to reflect on their actions and thoughts in a moral and spiritual framework. Teachers play an important role as facilitators who design relevant learning scenarios, as well as being role models in implementing these values in teaching and learning activities. Thus, the PBL model based on religious values can be used as an alternative effective learning strategy to form positive habits and improve students' conceptual understanding, especially at the elementary school level. The recommendation from this study is the need for training for teachers in designing and implementing the value-integrated PBL model, as well as support from the school to create a conducive learning environment for the formation of students' character in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the relationship between student involvement in the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) with Entrepreneurship theme and the independent attitude of elementary school students. The research used a quantitative approach with ex post facto method and involved 69 fifth and sixth grade students at Sidanegara 04 Elementary School, Central Cilacap, as the sample. The main instrument was a Likert scale questionnaire developed to measure two variables: the level of involvement in P5 projects and students' independent attitude. Data were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment correlation after validity, reliability, normality, and linearity tests. The results showed that there is a strong and significant positive relationship between student involvement in P5 projects with Entrepreneurship theme and independent attitude (r = 0.684; p < 0.01). Each stage of project implementation, from planning, production, marketing to evaluation, contributes to the formation of independent attitude dimensions such as decision-making ability, responsibility, self-confidence, perseverance, and independence in completing tasks. These findings indicate that the implementation of P5 projects can be an effective strategy in developing students' independent character through contextual, active, and meaningful learning experiences.

Abstract

This classroom action research aims to improve the learning process and learning outcomes of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subjects by implementing the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model supported by Google Form for fifth grade students of SDN Rawaapu 06, Patimuan District, Cilacap Regency in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. Based on the results of observations, the low IPAS learning outcomes were caused by the lack of variation in the application of learning models that could activate students and limited innovation in assessment. This research was conducted in three cycles, each of which consisted of stages of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 23 fifth grade students of SDN Rawaapu 06. Data were obtained through Google Form- based learning outcome tests , student activity observation sheets, and field notes. The results of the study showed an increase in the average value of students' social sciences, which was originally 40.86 in the pre-cycle, to 51.73 in cycle I, 70.43 in cycle II, and 81.30 in cycle III. The percentage of students' learning completion also increased, namely from 13.04% in the pre-cycle to 30.43% in cycle I, 65.22% in cycle II, and 91.30% in cycle III. The application of the STAD model assisted by Google Form has proven effective in improving students' social science learning outcomes, strengthening active involvement in group discussions, and providing direct feedback that accelerates the process of analyzing evaluation results, especially on ecosystem material. This study recommends the use of the STAD model assisted by digital technology as an innovative alternative in social science learning at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This classroom action research aims to improve the understanding of mathematical concepts, especially on measurement material, in class III SDN Cimrutu 01 Patimuan through the application of Bruner's learning theory with the help of concrete objects. The background of this research is the difficulty of lower grade students in understanding mathematical concepts that tend to be abstract. The main focus of the research is the use of Bruner's approach, which emphasizes three stages of representation (enactive, iconic, and symbolic), as well as the use of concrete objects as intermediaries for understanding. The research was conducted in three cycles, each of which includes the planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects consisted of 20 class III students of SDN Cimrutu 01 Patimuan, with a composition of 10 male students and 10 female students. Data on understanding of mathematical concepts were obtained through learning outcome tests at the end of each cycle and at the pre-cycle stage. The results of the study showed a significant increase in learning completeness, from 25% in the pre-cycle to 90% in Cycle III. In Cycle I, learning completion reached 65%, then increased to 85% in Cycle II, and finally reached 90% in Cycle III, with most students meeting the Learning Target Completion Criteria (KKTP) of at least 70. The consistency of this increase shows that the application of Bruner's theory assisted by concrete objects is effective in improving understanding of mathematical concepts, especially in measurement material in lower grades. The learning strategy that begins with concrete experiences, continues with visual representations, and ends with symbolic understanding is proven to be in accordance with the stage of students' cognitive development. This study concludes that mathematics learning based on Bruner's theory through the use of concrete objects can be an effective alternative to improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts, especially in abstract material.
