Abstract

The existence of the church in this world is God's plan and will. Like a plant, which naturally grows and develops; as is the case with the existence of the church, God desires that His church grow and develop both in quality and quantity. There are various factors that influence the growth of the church, including the presence of church members and good pastoral care for the people. This research to describe the influence of church building and pastoral care on the growth of the congregation of the Bethel Indonesia Church “Family Blessing” Surabaya. Apart from that, to find out how much influence each independent variable has on the dependent variable. The approach used in this research is quantitative; where the population which is the object of this research is 400 members of the Bethel Indonesia Church “Family Blessing” Surabaya. The sample is taken from a population of 24% or 96 people who can represent the population with a simple random sampling technique. The data collection technique uses an instrument in the form of a questionnaire to collect data on three variables, namely: (1) fostering church members, (2) pastoral care, and (3) church growth. The results of the study showed: (1) the influence of coaching church members on the growth of the congregation of the Bethel Indonesia Church “Family Blessing” Surabaya was in the medium category. (2) the influence of pastoral care on the growth of the congregation of the Bethel Indonesia Church “Family Blessing” Surabaya in the medium category. And (3) the influence of coaching church members and pastoral care together on the growth of the congregation of the Bethel Indonesia Church “Family Blessing” Surabaya is also in the medium category. Based on the findings in this research, several suggestions were suggested as follows: (1) The formation of church members, with three dimensions, namely Coinonia, Diakonia and Marturia had influence in the medium category. It is recommended that it be maintained, even if the implementation is increased. Because through these three dimensions the resources of the people are included in the ministry. (2) As with the formation of church members, pastoral care also influences the moderate category of church growth, therefore it is recommended that the implementation be increased so that through direct contact with the life of the congregation it will strengthen the spirituality of the church.

Abstract

Hodayot, in Hebrew means thanksgiving Psalms, is a collection of approximately thirty poems that give thanks to God. Hodayot is an important resource for understanding the piety and religious devotion of those who composed and recited them.In reconstructing of the original scroll, uses direct joins method, vertical alignment of material, horizontal alignment of material, and placement of fragments according to the Scribal Hands. The benefits of this reconstruction: Firstly, the accurate placing of adjacent fragments has enabled more portions of meaningful text to be recovered. Secondly, this method allows the original length of the scroll to be estimated as twenty-seven or twenty-eight columns of forty-one to forty-two lines each. The average length of lines is also known. Thirdly, it is now possible to investigate the overall structure of the collection, particularly when the data from the Cave 4 manuscripts is also considered. This group contains all of the compositions identified as Teacher Hymns and it strengthens the argument that they represent a distinct group by a single author.

Abstract

Suffering is a legacy of the existence of the world of souls [humans] living on earth. Suffering is not imagination, not some nightmare, on the contrary is real, actual, but not academic. Suffering comes when humans are born. Humans cannot escape suffering. Suffering comes from various angles of life. Suffering comes from a broken relationship with God. Starting from the failure of Adam and Eve's relationship with God, humans began to feel suffering. Humans cannot resist the suffering they experience. The purpose of this study is to determine the cause of human suffering and its consequences, and how to overcome suffering. The author uses a descriptive method of literature and research results as follows: first, mercy is the perfect character of the deity of God. God's mercy from eternal to eternal until humans are afraid of God. Kindness is the essence of the quality of divinity, but God shows mercy on an ongoing basis through His sovereign will. Second, the source of God's mercy. The source of God's mercy is God's goodness and love expressed mysteriously. God's mercy is stated to guide someone to live righteously. People who receive God's mercy are living in godly living conditions and they need God's protection or care. Third, God's mercy cannot be stopped by humans. Instead humans can be made to not understand by God. God is free to act surprisingly, correcting human deviation. God is free to allow the test of Satan and not to tell anyone about it that was tested. God is also free to regulate

Spiritual life of God’s people is declined in the book of Isaiah because of idolatries and nations. Hebrew people make idols out of trees and worship pagan wooden idols (40:18-20; 44:9-20). Isaiah employs prophetic images for the covenant-breaking idolatry and worship of other gods by adultery and illicit sexual intercourse. It is clear that Isaiah is not exclusively interested in the interpersonal and social relationship structures within Israel. He is also concerned with the broader canvas of international politics.

Abstract

The problem in this essay lies in the issue of the Messiahship of Jesus which is thought to contain defects. Jesus is deemed unworthy of the title "Messiah" because his profile does not match the description of the Messiah in the Old Testament. The writing of this article aims to compare the concept of Messianic Judaism and its unique fulfillment in Jesus. The method used is a literature study of texts about the Messiah in the Old and New Testaments and relates them to Jesus' profile as the Messiah. As a result, Jesus as the Messiah in the New Testament did not meet the expectations of Judaism because Jesus presented a unique or different profile of Messiahship. The conclusion of this paper covers two things. First, Jesus as the Messiah must be understood from the Eschatological aspect. Second, the profile of Jesus' Messiahship is unique and goes beyond the "Messiahic" tradition of Judaism.

Abstract

Everyone can comment on life and death as the saying written by Goerge Arnold, but that does not mean that everyone can comment on living people being invited to be killed. A person's death is not a human right to determine it but God, the Creator and Protector of the whole nature, including humans who have been planned in the line of life and death. Therefore, when euthanasia arises between the medical and legal circles, then this is not something that can be forced to exist, especially as long as it is discussed without having a strong and clear basis. The author will explain what is Euthanasia? The question of Euthanasia's historical problems, the pros and cons of euthanasia, and Euthanasia's theological criticism. The author uses a descriptive method of literature and gets research results as follows: Viewed from the aspect of human rights is a moral breakdown that needs to be evaluated again whether euthanasia is in accordance with human rights values because human rights values essentially deny the existence of euthanasia. Also seen from the religious aspect, euthanasia is never justified. Law 6: "Do not kill" can not be laughed anymore means that refusing euthanasia.
