Abstract

Sexual harassment is a serious issue that takes many forms, such as exploitation, coercion, or sexual abuse without consent. This type of harassment is a form of gender injustice that can manifest in various forms of marginalization and subordination towards women. Women can feel restricted in their ability to express themselves freely due to the dominance of men in society. As a result, there has been an increase in the number of cases of sexual harassment of women in society. This has prompted film directors to address the issue in their works, such as the film Virgin the Series. This research aims to analyze the representation of sexual harassment towards women in this film, which is available on the Disney+Hotstar application, using the perspective of muted group theory. The theoretical framework used in this study includes the concept of representation by Stuart Hall, the concept of sexual abuse, adolescence, and women, as well as Roland Barthes's semiotic theory and the grand theory of silence (The Muted Group Theory). The researchers utilized a qualitative research method and applied Roland Barthes's semiotics approach to analyze the text and visuals in this film. The findings indicate that the film portrays various forms of sexual harassment toward women, such as physical, oral, non-verbal, gestural, visual, and psychological harassment. These depictions further strengthen the position of women as subordinates, as explained by the muted group theory

Abstract

Aging, a kind of physiological process, is influenced by a number of different biological and genetic factors, the driver for all age-related diseases. Aging of the skin can use samples of human fibroblasts (preputium) which are induced with high glucose media and doxorubicin using cell culture methods. Aging is measured using markers at the genetic level, namely p53 and mTOR. The p53 protein is one of the most important markers of apoptosis and the mTOR protein plays an important role in the proliferation, growth, motility, survival, autophagy of cell, including the synthesis of protein. Therefore, the optimization strategy of cell aging is well suited to physiological aging conditions In this review, we explore the optimization of aging in fibroblast cell cultures induced by high-glucose media and doxorubicin and review signs of aging, namely the biomarkers p53 and mTOR. The hope to be able to know aging is close to the original condition so that it becomes an opportunity as well as a challenge for the transition of basic research into developing interventions. Several major electronic databases, including Embase, PubMed, Cochrane, and CINAHL were used to select articles from the period between February 2013 and February 2023. From 5 available literatures, we demonstrated the activity of high-glucose media and doxorubicin as induction of fibroblast senescence. High-glucose media and doxorubicin showed an aging effect by increasing p53 and mTOR markers in fibroblast cell cultures. It is hoped that, with this article on aging optimization, insights into future research directions can be achieved.

This research aims to describe the implementation of village development planning management in accordance with Minister of Home Affairs Regulation No. 4 114 of 2014. This research is included in the library research category where the primary data source is books related to village development planning management. Meanwhile, supporting (secondary) data is literature that is still related to this research. In the data analysis technique, the author uses a descriptive method, namely research that seeks to describe and interpret what exists, opinions that are growing, ongoing processes, consequences or effects that occur or developing trends. In this research, the results showed that planning in village development is appropriate and a manifestation of the implementation of Minister of Home Affairs Regulation Number 114 of 2014. There is one thing in the village development planning process that must not be forgotten, namely management.
