Abstract

This study aims to explore the synergy between the local government and academia in mitigating peatland fires in Siak Regency. In the fields of social humanities, science, and technology, this study uses an exploratory qualitative method. The study reveals the important role of the local government in disaster mitigation through regional regulations, policies, and synergy between related departments. Through the regional regulation on forest fire prevention and handling, the local government has involved the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and other supporting units in mitigation efforts. In addition, academics have also contributed by developing a technology-based peatland fire detection system. The main results of this study show that collaboration between the local government and academia is very significant in peatland fire mitigation efforts. The role of the local government through Governor's Decree No. 9 of 2020 and Regent's Decree No. 4 of 2022, as well as synergy between departments, encourages more effective steps in preventing and handling peatland fires. In addition, the contribution of academics to producing a technology-based peatland fire mitigation technology design opens up the potential for innovative and sustainable solutions. These findings have significant implications, as they highlight the importance of collaboration between the local government and academia in facing the challenges of peatland fire mitigation in Siak Regency. This synergy allows a better understanding of the problem, the development of more effective policies, and the application of advanced technology in preventing and handling peatland fires.

Abstract

The increase in movement between zones between sub-districts in the Regency increases in line with economic development in the region. Parongpon sub-district and Ngamprah sub-district are West Bandung regency areas that have increased economic growth which is quite significant in West Bandung Regency. The geometric redesign research between Parongpong and Ngamprah zones has the aim of adjusting the road geometry based on increasing the volume generation and attraction of traffic movement between these zones. The generation and attraction of traffic movement between these zones is dominated by the volume of vehicles with larger dimensions and heavier loads, so that geometric alignment of the road is required based on the standard slope of the vertical alignment and the super-elevation curve of the horizontal alignment. The research method used is quantitative descriptive in geometric design parameters which are developed in accordance with the development of traffic volume and vehicle types. The research results show the Rise and Attract model of movement between Parongpong-Ngamprah zones with the mathematical model shown by the equation Y = 28.064 +0.0003612X1+0.001X2+0.005X3 with R2 = 0.97. With the influence of the generation of traffic volume movement on these roads, of requires adjustment of the super evaluation curve with a larger radius and smaller vertical alignment slope so that the increase in traffic volume from the influence of the generation and attraction of the movement of the Parongpong-Ngamprah zone can be anticipated with fine.

Abstract

Gender equality in Indonesia began to be programmed when the Presidential Instruction of the Republic of Indonesia Number 9 of 2000 was issued regarding gender mainstreaming, meaning that understanding of gender equality in society began to be developed in the 2000s. However, not all people understand the meaning of gender equality so that the implementation of gender equality in the family is still far from expectations. Gender studies pay more attention to aspects of a person's masculinity or femininity. The specific objectives of this research are; to find out how millennial men perceive gender justice and equality. The research method uses a qualitative research design with a case study approach. The research results show that millennial men do not understand the term Gender Mainstreaming. However, they understand the terms gender equality and justice, they even have the perception that this is considered normal when women work in the public area and men work in the domestic area.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the return and risk conditions between investments in the form of crypto currency, LQ-45 Index shares, Exchange Rates and Gold. The research period was carried out during the Covid-19 pandemic, namely from March 2020 to June 2023. The results showed that investing with Crypto Currency provided the highest return as well as risk compared to other investments studied in this study. The research results also show that there are no differences between the four investments studied. The suggestion for this research is investors should be careful in choosing the type of investment because each investment has different risks and returns and to expand the variables and research period.

Abstract

The latest technological developments allow for the presence of facial recognition technology. This technology itself is widely used in everyday life, such as for using personal devices or registering. But at the same time, the presence of this technology can cause problems with personal data. This research then aims to see the relationship between facial recognition technology and regulations, ethics, and legal implications in data security and privacy. This research will be carried out using a descriptive qualitative approach. The data used in this research was obtained through the results of relevant previous research and studies. The results of this research then found that the presence of facial recognition technology has significant benefits, but at the same time poses significant challenges.
