Abstract

B20 is a fuel that is widely used for combustion systems in diesel engines, especially in Indonesia. Apart from having the advantages, biodiesel B20 also has various disadvantages that affect the performance of diesel engines such as those that have a higher flash point than diesel so that biodiesel is more difficult to burn and has a high viscosity which causes less good atomization of fuel and eventually causes deposits in combustion chamber. One or the solution to the problem is that it can be done carefully. The aim of this research is to make a Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger (STHE) by including the insulation in it to improve the heat exchange performance. The method applied in this research is an experiment by testing the performance of the heat exchanger using a cooling water jacket. Some of the equipment used is a diesel engine from the Mitsubishi Diesel Engine, Type 4d35, 4 cylinder, 75 HP. Data were collected at a constant rotation of 1500 rpm at no load. The results showed that the higher the cooling water temperature of the jacket, the higher the biodiesel temperature. With a cooling water jacket temperature of 83oC, it can heat biodiesel at 74.8oC. Abstract

Waru laut (Thespesia populnea) mengandung senyawa fitokimia yang memiliki efek farmakologi. Secara umum masyarakat didaerah Natuna belum banyak yang mengetahui khasiat dan kandungan yang terdapat pada tanaman waru laut ini. Sehingga perlu dilakukan identifikasi senyawa biokimia dari ekstrak simplisia daun waru laut dari Natuna. Penelitian dimulai dari pengambilan daun waru laut, pembuatan simplisia, ekstraksi dan identifikasi senyawa fitokimia. Daun waru laut memiliki warna hijau gelap dan simplisa memiliki kadar air 10,77% dan kadar abu 8,99% dengan rendemen 22,75%. Proses ekstraksi dilakukan secara bertingkat dengan 3 pelarut yaitu n-Heksan, etil asetat dan ethanol. Rendemen hasil ekstraksi untuk masing-masing pelarut sebesar  1,12% (n-heksan), 3,19% (etil asetat), dan 3,28% (etanol). Identifikasi senyawa fitokimia menunjukkan ketiga ekstrak mengantdung senyawa steroid & triterpenoid, namun ketiganya tidak mengandung alkaloid. hanya ekstrak n-heksan yang mengandung saponin, dan senyawa tannin hanya dimiliki oleh ekstrak etil asetat. kata kunci : Thespesia populnea, simplisia, ekstraksi, fitokimia

Abstract

Perairan Kepulauan Sula telah lama menjadi pusat penangkapan julung-julung (Hemiramphus sp). Dalam melakukan penangkapan ikan julung-julung nelayan Kepulauan Sula menggunakan alat tangkap mini purse seine. Penentuan daerah penangkapan ikan (Fishing ground) dilakukan nelayan dengan melihat tanda-tanda alam seperti burung yang terbang diatas permukaan air, buih-buih air laut, dan kayu yang hanyut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil tangkapan julung-julung di perairan Kepulauan Sula, dan sebaran daerah penangkapan ikan julung-julung dengan ala tmini purse seine di perairan Kepulauan Sula. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hasil tangkapan julung-julung di perairan sula memiliki hasil tangkapan tertinggi terdapat pada bulan Maret  sebesar 6,6 ton sedangkan hasil tangkapan terendah terjadi pada bulan April sebesar 5,1 ton. Hasil tangkapan sampingan yang sering tertangkap dengan alat tangkap mini purse seine adalah kuweh, layang, lemuru, dan selar. Daerah penangkapan julung-julung di perairan Kepulauan Sula yang paling potensial terdapat di Teluk Pas Ipa dan perairan Sanana.

Abstract

Yellowfin tuna has high economic value. Frozen tuna loin processing was observed and characterized its quality from raw material to finished product to deepen comprehensive understanding of the process. The aims of this research to determine the frozen tuna loin processing flow, to determine the application of the cold chain system, to calculate the yield of frozen tuna loin, and to determine the quality of raw materials and frozen tuna loin final products. The research method was conducted by observation and direct involvement during processing. This research found that processing fresh tuna into frozen tuna loin includes no less than twenty stages, from receiving raw materials to loading products for sale. The cold chain system has been implemented well because the fish temperature is always below 4 oC. The yield of frozen tuna loin processing has reached the company’s standard, which is above 50%. The organoleptic value of raw material was 8, and the final product organoleptic was also 8. The histamine test showed that tuna histamine levels were low, complied the company’s standard (< 17 ppm). The microbiology tests of raw material and final product including ALT, E. coli, and Salmonella test were less than 5×105 colonies/gram, < 3 APM/g, and negative. Abstract

Mesin diesel merupakan salah satu jenis mesin pembakaran internal yang sangat diperlukan dalam kehidupan manusia saat ini. Teknologi mesin diesel terus berkembang hingga saat ini. Namun mesin diesel sangat bergantung pada bahan bakar diesel fosil, sedangkan stok bahan bakar fosil semakin berkurang. Berkaitan dengan fenomena tersebut, maka dilakukan penelitian dengan tujuan mengaplikasikan heat recovery jacket cooler berbasis fuel heater dan menganalisis besarnya konsumsi bahan bakar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodeeksperimental antara lain pembuatan instalasi fuel heater dan pengukuran konsumsi bahan bakar. Pada percobaan menggunakan bahan bakar biodiesel (B20) dengan variasi temperatur 30oC, 35oC, 40oC, 45oC, dan 50oC. Mesin diesel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah mesin 4 langkah, 4 silinder, 1500 rpm 18 kVA dan mesin diesel dalam kondisi tanpa beban. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi temperatur bahan bakar semakin menurun konsumsinya, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemanasan bahan bakar mempengaruhi efisiensi konsumsi bahan bakar.Kata kunci: Mesin Diesel; Konsumsi bahan bakar; Pemanas; Pendinginan Jaket;

Abstract

Cakalang City is a nickname for the city of Bitung which is one of the Minapolitan areas and industrialization of capture fisheries in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to assess the sustainability status of the Cakalang fisheries in Bitung and develop a strategy for managing the Cakalang fisheries in Bitung to be sustainable. Analysis of existing conditions and indexes for each dimension of sustainable management of skipjack resources, including ecological, economic, social, institutional and technological dimensions is carried out using the Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) approach with ordination techniques modified from the Rapfish program. The sustainability of cakalang fisheries in Bitung at 65.82 percent is in the fairly sustainable category (ecological dimension 46.46 percent, economic dimension 80.01 percent, technology dimension 65.83 percent, and institutional dimensions 58.57 percent), sustainability analysis shows Multidimensional sustainability index values indicate the sustainability status of the skipjack fisheries in Bitung is in a fairly sustainable category. Abstract

Cultivating vannamei shrimp using round ponds is an alternative way of cultivation to minimize the significant investment costs. One of the obstacles in vannamei shrimp cultivation is the availability of Dissolve Oxygen (DO) in water. By utilizing solar energy which is converted into electrical energy, DO levels can be maintained with an aeration system that utilizes solar energy. North Lombok Regency has the potential for solar energy which reaches 4.91 kWh / m2 / day with a minimum clearness index of 0.446 which is very potential to be utilized. The purpose of this research is to find the optimal design for a stand alone panel PV system to serve the electrical energy needs of vannamei shrimp farming in round ponds. The method used is to calculate the most optimal design with HOMER (Hybrid Optimization Model for Electric Renewables) software to be able to serve the average energy requirement of 38.2 kWh / day. From the analysis, it was found that the most optimal designs were the PV panel brand A 16.8 kW, the PV panel brand B 1 kW and the 200 Ah battery with a total of 104 units. Abstract

Alat  tangkap jubi merupakan salah satu alat tangkap yang digunakan oleh nelayan desa Kampung Ambon dan desa kulu, namun pada penggunaan alat tangkap tersebut terdapat perbedaan dari segi keamanan nelayan. Di desa kampong Ambong dan desa Budo terdapat korban berupa kelumpuhan bahkan jatuhnya korban jiwa oleh nelayan, sedangkan di desa Kulu tidak terdapat korban kelumpuhan dan kematian, pada penelitian untuk menggali penyebab jatuhnya korban pada Nelayan di desa Kampung Ambong dan desa Budo, sedangkan desa Kulu merupakan desa pembanding di ke dua desa tersebut.metode yang digunakan yaitu metode studi kasus, pengambilan data secara wawancara kepada responden dan key informan di desa kampung Ambong. Desa Budo, dan desa kampung Kulu. Kesimpulan pada penelitian adalah penggunaan alat tangkap jubi yang menyebabkan kelumpuhan pada nelayan di desa Kampung Ambong dan desa Budo disebabkan penggunaan alat bantu kompresor yang relative lama, menyelaman pada kedalaman di atas 30 meter dengan waktu yang relatif lama, serta tidak menggunakan teknik ke permukaan dengan cara zig-zag untuk menyesuaikan kondisi tubuh dengan perairan. Abstract

Technological developments have encouraged the growth of various industries, which on the onehand can increase economic growth, but on the other hand, it can also cause environmentaldamage as a result of negative impacts resulting from waste generated. The coastal and marinewaters of Bitung City are industrial dense areas which are spread from the northern to thesouthern region. Besides that there were activitied which adding to the increasingly denseactivities in the coastal waters of Bitung City like the ferry port, cargo and container ports, andpassenger port. The research aims to analyze the level of pollution of mercury heavy metals(Hg), lead (Pb), and cadmium (Cd) in several types of fish consumption from Bitung waters; toget the dominant type of heavy metal exposed to fish meat; and determine the level of heavymetal contamination in the waters around Bitung based on bio-indicators.The results ofresearch showed that all fish samples were contaminated by heavy metals and each location forsampling levels of metal contamination based on bio-indicators was different, where the watersof Kampung Pisang have a higher level of metal contamination.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the best liquid smoked tandipang fish product and determine the best storage capacity of liquid smoked tandipang fish. Smoking is a combination of drying techniques and the addition of chemical compounds from wood burning to maintain fish durability. Liquid smoking uses liquid smoke as a smoking medium (Utomo et al, 2012). The use of liquid smoke is to provide a specific color effect, taste, and smoky flavor. The method used in this research is experimental by conducting experiments to see a result. The experimental design used was a randomized block design (RBD) using ANOVA. The materials used are tandipang fish, liquid smoke, chemicals for quality testing and the tools used are gas ovens, drying cabinets, laboratory equipment, containers for placing tandipang fish (para-para). Liquid smoke used is liquid smoke produced by CV. Wulung Prima. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that: 1) The best liquid smoke tandipang fish product is produced by immersing liquid smoke with a concentration of 3% for 45 minutes. 2) Shelf life of the best liquid smoked tandipang fish at room temperature based on the peroxide number, namely 7.2 months.Keywords: Best treatment, liquid smoke, shelflifes, smoking, tandipang fish.
