Abstract

This study aims to depict the experiences of slow learners in fourth grade and identify variables contributing to their difficulties. This qualitative research was conducted at MIN 2 Konawe Selatan, with seven slow-learning fourth-grade students and three fourth-grade teachers as informants. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research data were then analyzed through stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that students experiencing learning difficulties are those who often delay completing homework, have cognitive abilities below standard, struggle to ask or answer questions during learning, and face challenges in reading and understanding the teacher's lessons. However, slow learners have the same good morals as normal children. The factors causing slow learning in students include low cognitive abilities, poor memory, concentration disorders during learning, difficulties in expressing ideas, poor academic achievement, language or communication problems, and emotional factors. Keywords: Slow Learners, student experiences, factors causing slow learning

Abstract

Through a holistic integrative approach and learning through play, Early Childhood Education (PAUD) develops six aspects of early childhood development. However, the pandemic has resulted in a shift in the learning process at schools. Students are directed to learn from their respective homes. This has led to the inability to carry out learning through play. This descriptive qualitative research aims to analyze the learning model applied in the new normal time using data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The informants in this study are the school principal, school committee, six homeroom teachers, six parents of students, and sixteen students selected through snowball sampling determined by the researcher. This research was conducted for three months from April to June 2020. The results show that the forms of implementation of learning in the new normal are include WhatsApp groups, home visits, and a rolling system. The most effective result in learning in the new normal time is the rolling system, which divides students into several groups to avoid crowding. Keywords: Learning model, early childhood, new normal

Abstract

This research aims to determine the difference in learning outcomes between students of class II of MIS Asy-Syafi’iyah Kendari before treatment in the experimental class and the control class, to identify the difference in learning outcomes before and after treatment in the experimental class, and to assess the difference in learning outcomes after treatment between the experimental and control classes. This experimental study with a pretest-posttest control group design was conducted at MI MIS Asy-Syafi’iyah Kendari with a population consisting of all second-grade students. The research sample was determined using purposive sampling technique, with class II A as the control class and class II B as the experimental class. Data collection techniques included observation, tests, and documentation, while data analysis techniques involved descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. The results showed that there was no significant difference in learning outcomes between students in the experimental class and the control class before treatment. However, there was a significant difference in learning outcomes for students in the experimental class before and after treatment. Additionally, there was a significant difference in learning outcomes between students in the experimental class and the control class after treatment. Furthermore, the n-gain test results revealed that the average n-gain score percentage in the experimental class was 63.78%, categorized as moderately effective. These findings indicate that the mathematical counting board learning media is sufficiently effective in improving the learning outcomes of second-grade students at MIS Asy-Syafi’iyyah Kendari. Keywords: Mathematics learning outcomes, mathematical counting board media

Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) learning model in a fifth-grade classroom at one of the elementary schools in the Bonegunu district and to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes on the subject of spatial structures. The subjects of this classroom action research are 26 fifth-grade students in the school. The research design adopts the Kemmis and Taggart model, which includes planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. Data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results show that the implementation of mathematics learning using the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) learning model proceeded well according to the prepared plan. Students' learning outcomes in Cycle I were in the good category with a learning completeness percentage of 57.69% and an average of 66.35. It then increased to the very good category with a completeness percentage of 92.31% and an average of 87.50 in Cycle II. These findings indicate that the implementation of the Realistic Mathematics Education learning model in the classroom has a positive impact on improving students' mathematics learning outcomes in elementary school. Keywords: Realistic mathematic education (RME), student’s activity, matehematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the effectiveness of using Pop-Up book media in thematic learning of grade III of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Asy-Syafi'iyah. The type of research used in this study is quantitative research with pre-experiment method. The research design used is One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this study is all students in grade III of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Asy-Syafi'iyah consisting of classes III A and III B, the population is too much so the researcher chooses the population by using the sample technique "probabily sampling" with cluster sampling type, by drawing or shuffling lottery where class III A and III B are used as a lottery, so the researcher gets class III A as the research subject. Learning outcomes data obtained from pretest and posttest results in the form of multiple choice. The results obtained are the average pretest score obtained is 77.27 while the average posttest obtained is 93.18 with an average N-Gain value of 0.69 with a moderate category, this shows that the use of Pop-Up book media has succeeded in improving the learning outcomes of third grade students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Asy-Syafi'iyah. This is evidenced by the results of hypothesis testing which shows that the Sig value. (2-Tailed.) is 0.000
