Abstract

In this modern era, knowledge about Javanese culture in elementary schools is increasingly minimal, especially wayang cultural arts. In introducing wayang culture to elementary school students so that it does not become extinct due to the impact of foreign culture entering Indonesia, causing local culture to fade, especially Pandawa wayang. In each wayang character there are positive values ​​to build the character of elementary school students. This study aims to understand the process, feasibility and practicality of developing an encyclopedia of wayang Pandawa characters as a form of preserving Javanese culture for elementary school students. This development study applies the ADDIE model, including analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The data used in the research are quantitative and qualitative. The feasibility test results obtained the "Very Feasible" category with 97.5% presentation results by media experts, 93.75% material experts, and 93.75% language experts. The practicality test received the "Very Practical" category with a percentage result of 96.00% by teachers and 99.00% by students. Therefore, the encyclopedia is appropriate to be applied as learning material in elementary schools.

Abstract

This article documents the role of photography in capturing and analyzing the transformation of Malang City, which celebrates its 110th anniversary in 2024. Through careful literature review, this study identifies the contribution of photography from various genres in enhancing our understanding of the development of infrastructure, social dynamics, and cultural changes in Malang City. The aim of this research is to depict photography not only as a documentation tool but also as an analytical medium that provides profound insights into urban changes from social, economic, and cultural perspectives. The method employed involves content analysis of photographs collected from various sources, including public archives, art exhibitions, and private collections. The findings of this research highlight the importance of photography in recording the history of Malang City's development over time, as well as understanding the impact of these changes on the local community and culture. The implication of this research is to increase appreciation for the documentary and analytical value of photography in the context of urban studies, and to promote the use of photography as a means of reflection and learning for the city's residents.

Abstract

HIV/AIDS is a global health problem that threatens the lives of many individuals. The HIV virus attacks the body's immune system, weakening its ability to fight infection and disease, which can then progress to AIDS, the final stage of HIV infection. Although certain treatments can slow the progression of the disease, awareness about the dangers of HIV/AIDS is very important, especially for college students. This knowledge can help them understand how to prevent transmission, such as practicing safe sex and avoiding sharing needles. In Semarang City, the high number of HIV/AIDS cases shows the need for further efforts to increase public awareness and knowledge, especially in the productive age group. Social stigma against HIV/AIDS sufferers is also a challenge that needs to be overcome through community-based interventions. Infographics published on social media can be an effective means of increasing student awareness about the dangers of HIV/AIDS, which is expected to contribute to preventing transmission and improving the quality of life of affected individuals. The aim of this research is to convey clear, accurate and easy to understand information to the public, with the hope of increasing awareness about the risk of transmission, symptoms, prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS. The methodology used is qualitative. The result of this research is to create an infographic design about the dangers of HIV/AIDS via social media for students in the Semarang city area.

Abstract

Communication technologies are developing very quickly, especially Internet-based communications. This corresponds to the evolution of the existing social situation, in particular the use of social networks, which is also growing rapidly. The video site YouTube is an example. Even the use of internet technology has penetrated the business world (industry). The popularity of YouTube social networks encourages users (YouTubers) to use this application or social networks to promote themselves. Bayu Skak is a YouTuber who has successfully established his presence in the video media and has now even appeared on the big screen and television. The main purpose of the qualitative descriptive research is to provide an in-depth description of Bayu Skak's video works, both visual and sound. This study adopts a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of the study show that Bayu Skak's videos on the YouTube channel are an expression of the popularity of the social network YouTube, which provides space for expression. The expression space of YouTubers cannot be separated from industrial packaging, which can combine expression and economy. Bayu Skak uses this space of expression to give his work a strong local genius identity, including the use of East Javanese vocabulary and dialect in his work

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to examine how Artificial Intelligence (AI) using Dall-E, can reinterpret cultural artifacts, providing a new perspective in the visualization and understanding of the history of the Paksi Naga Liman Kencana Train. This research methodology involves collecting data from an etic and emic point of view, which is then used for AI species to produce new visualizations. Apart from that, data collection was also carried out using unstructured interviews with the tour guides on duty. The results of this research produced a number of keywords that can be used as prompts for AI, as well as various examples of visual results produced by AI based on combinations of these prompts. AI can respond to and reinterpret these cultural artifacts, providing new dimensions to the visual experience and historical understanding.

Abstract

Adolescence is a period marked by high curiosity and emotional instability, making young minds vulnerable to negative influences. The lack of supervision, especially from the family, can lead to a sense of freedom without understanding the boundaries that should be observed, giving rise to social phenomena related to juvenile delinquency. This research aims to design an effective public service advertisement about the dangers of smoking for children aged 10-14 years in Indonesia through digital posters. The objectives are to raise awareness, change attitudes and perceptions towards smoking, and enhance supervision in families and schools to support positive behavioral changes for the future of the nation's youth. The research method used is a qualitative method, then for data collection using documentation methods and, literature. For data analysis methods using framing analysis. The resulting public service advertisement employs a simple illustration style, which is expected to resonate well with the target audience of children and adolescents aged 10-14 years. By doing so, the audience can become more aware of the negative impacts of smoking on their growth, long-term health, and understand that it can serve as a gateway to other harmful substances abuse (NAPZA)

Abstract

Media such as films are used to depict the reality of events in real life, such as conveying messages through characters. “Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap” is a film that tells the story of Pak Domu and his family from a Batak tribe background where they go through several conflicts. This research uses a descriptive-qualitative research method using purposive sampling of 8 scene samples from a total population of 129 scenes representing the storyline. Data collection methods include document studies as primary data and secondary data, namely direct observation studies, in-depth interview studies, and literature studies. Triangulation of source data from three expert sources was carried out to obtain validation. John Fiske's semiotic analysis (reality level, representative level, and ideology level) is used to obtain the form of masculinity in Pak Domu. The results of this research show that at the reality level, especially Pak Domu's codes of behavior, gesture, expression and way of speaking, with the representation level of camera, light, editing, music and sound codes, reconstruct the gender binary opposition ideology code of femininity which describe with dependency, weakness, subjectiveness, easily influenced, emotional, irrational, illogical, and indoor or domestic activities. The research result is found that masculinity ideology more prominent in the main character with indicators of relational power, being respected, control of emotionality, primacy of avoiding femininity, physical toughness/violence, self-reliance, and risk-taking.

Abstract

In interacting socially, without realizing it, humans give an image to each other or to objects, due to the presence of objective (Visual) in this case the eye sees the object in the form of an appearance (Body), and the process is called an image because it gives perception, then gives different meanings according to their knowledge, the purpose of this research is to find out the design strategy for Indomie packaging, Indomie packaging also represents the meaning of the image of a product, this method uses a semiotic analysis method, namely an approach that tries to find the hidden meaning behind a sign, be it an image or text, so that in this writing, we get the results of Design as an image, in this case a product has its own concept or view/specialties that you want to show to other people, by making a design in the form of an advertisement, product or writing, then the design builds or represents the features that you want to display (image) so that people tend to like or enter the space of perfection built by the design, in fact they prioritize the image over its own function. The results of research on Indomie packaging are a series of illusions that are injected into a commodity, in order to control consumers, this eye illusion makes the packaging look like an anesthetic injection, so that consumers feel influenced by buying a noodle product, because the packaging displayed depicts an illusion that makes buyers feel When you buy this product, you will get what it looks like on the packaging, even though in reality it isn't.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the representation of the toxic relationship of the character Aurora in the film Jalan Yang Jauh Jangan Lupa Pulang using John Fiske's semiotic analysis method, The Codes of Television theory. This theory has three level classifications, including the reality level, representation level and ideology level. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach method using observation, documentation and literature study as data collection techniques. The formulation of this research problem is as follows; What is the reality level of Aurora's character's toxic relationship in the film Jalan Yang Jauh Jangan Lupa Pulang? What is the level of representation of Aurora's toxic relationship in the film Jalan Yang Jauh Jangan Lupa Pulang? What is the ideological level of Aurora's toxic relationship in the film Jalan Yang Jauh Jangan Lupa Pulang?. The results of this research describe that the level of reality, level of representation, and level of ideology in the character Aurora have similarities with the current social reality. Where the gestures and expressions of each film actor highlight this side, such as the characteristic of not caring or being indifferent to the existence of people in the surrounding environment, in other words, the egoism side is more prominent in the character of Aurora as a character who experiences a toxic relationship.
