Abstract

Hypertension is a leading non-communicable disease-causing mortality and reducing employee productivity. Its high prevalence in the workplace is linked to lifestyle factors and low awareness of prevention. This study aimed to analyze the effect of hypertension prevention programs on employee awareness and hypertension status in animal feed companies in Semarang. A quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test control groups was employed. From a population of 257 employees, 30 samples were selected for each group. Data were collected via questionnaires and observation sheets. The intervention consisted of a hypertension prevention program including sosialisasi (socialization) about hypertension prevention and routine blood pressure monitoring. Data analysis used paired t-tests and Wilcoxon tests. Sixty subjects participated, with mean ages of 43.87 years (intervention) and 40.23 years (control). In the intervention group, 60% had a family history of hypertension. Significant improvement in awareness was observed in the intervention group (p = 0.000) but not in the control group (p = 0.493). The intervention significantly reduced systolic (p = 0.000) and diastolic (p = 0.012) blood pressure and lowered hypertension prevalence from 63.3% to 40%, whereas the control group showed no change. In conclusion, workplace hypertension prevention programs effectively increase employee awareness and reduce blood pressure and hypertension prevalence. These programs are recommended as preventive strategies in occupational health management.

Abstract

Sustainable development encourages the use of waste as an alternative material in infrastructure, including on road pavement. This study evaluated the performance of Laston Coated Wear (AC-WC) asphalt mixture with the substitution of glass waste as fine aggregates in variations in 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% levels. Material characteristics testing as well as Marshall tests and residual stability were carried out referring to the General Specification of Highways Division 6 of 2018 Revision 2. The results show that the glass waste meets the technical specifications as a fine aggregate. Blends with 10% glass content produce the highest Marshall stability value of 93.4% and the best overall performance. The Optimum Asphalt (KAO) content has increased as the glass content has increased, but it remains below the normal mix KAO. Mixing with glass also shows good water resistance. Therefore, a 10% glass waste substitution is recommended as an alternative to fine aggregates in AC-WC mixtures to support environmentally friendly road infrastructure.

Abstract

In essence, the leadership culture in military organizations is instructive and authoritarian with one command center. However, it is possible that a persuasive communication strategy was used by the leaders of the Yonhub Pushubad and Yon21 Group 2 of Kopassus to reduce the number of cases of soldiers’ offenses. This study aims to determine, compare and synthesize leadership persuasive communication strategies in suppressing the level of soldier discipline offenses in Yonhub Pushubad and Yon 21 Group 2 Kopassus. The method used in this research is a qualitative method and a descriptive approach with a multi-site study at the Yonhub Pushubad and the Yon 21 Group 2 Kopassus. Primary and secondary data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participant observation and documentation. Based on the analysis and discussion of all the findings and data collected, it was concluded that the leaders of Yonhub Pushubad applied psychodynamic, psychocultural and the meaning construction persuasive communication strategies to reduce the number of infringements among its soldiers. On the other hand, the leaders of Yon 21 Group 2 Kopassus also applied the same three persuasive communication strategies to minimize the number of transgressions by its soldiers. Although both sites use the same persuasive communication strategies, different ways and methods are implemented by each leadership group in their unit. From the description of the results of the study, it can be concluded that the leaders of Yon 21 Group 2 Kopassus are more persuasive than the leaders of the Yonhub Pushubad, as can be seen from the variety and effectiveness of the communication strategies applied in controlling the discipline of its members. This is also evidenced by the percentage of offenses by soldiers of Yon 21 Group 2 Kopassus which is smaller than Yonhub Pushubad from 2018 to 2021.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the e-commerce sector in Indonesia has increased the demand for reliable and timely logistics services. However, challenges such as delayed pickups and deliveries continue to occur, leading to the accumulation of operational penalties. This study aims to develop a mathematical model based on the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) that addresses the complexities of modern logistics distribution. The proposed model, named HFMTVRPDPTW (Heterogeneous Fleet Multi-Trip Vehicle Routing Problem with Delivery and Pickup and Time Windows), incorporates five key elements: vehicle capacity, fleet heterogeneity, service time windows, simultaneous pickup and delivery, and multi-trip operations within a single working period. A systematic literature review of twenty-one prior studies was conducted to identify research gaps and inform the model’s development. The model is formulated using an integer linear programming (ILP) approach and aims to optimize service time accuracy while minimizing delays. The findings suggest that this model provides a more comprehensive and realistic approach to distribution challenges and offers an original contribution to the development of adaptive and efficient VRP models for logistics operations.

Abstract

The Wakal-Taeno road on Ambon Island is a crucial link between Ambon City and the Leihitu sub-district. Although completed in 2023 using Presidential Instruction funds and officially operational in 2024, the road has already experienced multiple functional failures. This study retrospectively analyzes contributing factors and reassesses risks using the SNI ISO/IEC 31010:2016 standard. Primary data were collected through visual field inspections, supported by secondary data from news reports and academic sources. Root Cause Analysis (RCA) was employed to identify core problems, while the ISO framework guided risk identification, probability-impact analysis, and risk evaluation. Key issues identified include the collapse of a temporary Bailey bridge in June 2025, landslides on slopes, and settlement of bridge approaches. RCA revealed root causes such as insufficient geotechnical and hydrological investigations, unsuitable design and materials selection, incomplete risk assessments, and reactive, rather than proactive, maintenance strategies. The risk reassessment categorized bridge collapse, slope failures, and approach instability as high and unacceptable risks (risk scores: 16–20), while drainage system deficiencies were moderate (score: 12), and early pavement degradation was low (score: 9). Recommendations include constructing permanent bridges designed according to local geotechnical conditions, slope stabilization and reinforcement, integrated drainage systems, and proactive maintenance programs. Applying the SNI ISO/IEC 31010:2016 framework from the planning stage, alongside enhanced inter-agency coordination, is essential for sustainable infrastructure development in hazard-prone regions. Validation was ensured through data triangulation, member checking, and methodological transparency to strengthen the study’s credibility.

Abstract

The electricity industry is a strategic sector in the Indonesian economy, with PT PLN (Persero) as the main company responsible for the distribution of electrical energy. UP3 Sukabumi serves 54,636 New Install (PB) customers and 26,744 Power Change (PD) customers during the 2022-2023 period. The achievement of the lowest Service Quality Level (TMP) was due to the unavailability of Main Distribution Materials (MDU) by 46%. This study aims to optimize the control of MDU inventory using the Continuous Review (s,S) method with a Monte Carlo simulation approach. The classification of materials based on ADI-CV shows smooth and erratic characteristics with an ADI value of < 1.32. The results showed an increase in service level from 78-94% to 82-97% and a decrease in total inventory costs in 9 out of 10 materials studied. The optimal parameters obtained for MCB 25A material are s = 65 and S = 150 with a service level of 96%. The implementation of this method has a positive impact in the form of improving customer service, inventory cost efficiency, and achieving the company's TMP targets.

Abstract

Route selection is a critical process in designing an efficient transportation system, as inaccuracies in route choice can lead to delays and adverse effects on worker health and productivity. The purpose of this study is to identify preferences and factors influencing the selection of travel routes, as well as to map alternative routes based on these influential factors. The methods employed in this study include a questionnaire survey of office workers, which was then analyzed using the ordinal logit model and multinomial logistic regression with the assistance of SPSS software. Additionally, the all-or-nothing assignment method was applied to determine the optimal routes, using ArcGIS as a geospatial mapping and analysis tool. The results indicated that traffic density, distance, travel cost, and travel time were the primary factors affecting route choice decisions, with cost being the most significant. Conversely, individual characteristics such as age, gender, and education level did not have a statistically significant effect. This study recommends the adoption of an alternative route selection model to identify the most efficient commuting routes from various zones within the region, considering key factors such as traffic congestion levels, distance, cost, and travel time efficiency.

Abstract

Amiodarone is a potent antiarrhythmic that is used to treat supraventricular tachycardia (SVT). However, its substantial impact on atrioventricular (AV) nodal conduction can obscure or exacerbate underlying delays, resulting in rare conditions such as pseudo-pacemaker syndrome (PPMS). This syndrome is the result of an extreme prolongation of the PR interval, which results in AV dyssynchrony and hemodynamic compromise in the absence of an implanted device. A 25-year-old male presented with SVT, which was further complicated by hypokalemia. The case revealed a pre-existing AV nodal conduction delay. Therefore, we present the case. The patient transitioned to sinus rhythm after receiving amiodarone; however, they experienced a persistent and severe PR interval prolongation that exceeded 400 ms. The symptoms of vertigo and palpitations, which were consistent with PPMS, were induced by this severe conduction block and persisted for more than ten days, a reflection of the long half-life of amiodarone. This case concludes that amiodarone can dangerously exacerbate latent AV nodal disease in young adults, underscoring the necessity of recognizing PPMS as a clinical consequence of iatrogenic PR prolongation and emphasizing the need for cautious use and monitoring of antiarrhythmic drugs in patients with any evidence of conduction abnormalities.

Abstract

The maintenance of F-16 fighter jets as strategic defense assets of the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) requires systems that adapt to technological advancements. Depot Maintenance 80 (Depohar 80), as the main heavy maintenance unit, faces the challenge of enhancing its capabilities through digital transformation in the era of Society 5.0. The main issue in this study is the suboptimal implementation of digital technology to support F-16 operational readiness. This research aims to analyze the mechanics’ competencies prior to digital transformation, identify the obstacles and challenges, and formulate strategies for digital maintenance implementation. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, utilizing literature review, interviews, and field observation. The findings reveal that human resource competencies in digital literacy need improvement, digital infrastructure is not yet fully established, and the integration of legacy systems with digital platforms still encounters technical challenges. It is concluded that digital transformation in Depohar 80 can significantly improve the operational readiness of F-16 aircraft, provided it is supported by intensive training, improved infrastructure, and gradual implementation of AI and IoT-based systems.
