Abstract

Digital transformation has become an essential strategy for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to improve operational performance, responsiveness, and competitiveness in the Industry 4.0 era. In food-based SMEs, logistics activities require effective coordination, accurate inventory management, and rapid information exchange to address dynamic customer demands. However, many SMEs continue to face limitations in technological readiness, financial resources, and operational infrastructure, resulting in gradual digital adoption. This study aimed to explore how digital logistics practices were adopted by an Indonesian food-based SME and how these practices contributed to operational efficiency and logistics coordination. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach using semi-structured interviews and operational observations. Data were collected from five informants consisting of the business owner, warehouse staff, online sales administrator, distribution administrator, and inventory personnel. Thematic analysis was applied to identify patterns related to digital logistics adoption, operational efficiency, coordination processes, challenges, and future expectations. The findings revealed that the SME utilized accessible digital tools, including WhatsApp, Google Sheets, Shopee, TikTok Shop, and WhatsApp Business, to support inventory monitoring, order management, communication, and distribution activities. These digital practices improved information flow, inventory visibility, operational responsiveness, and coordination efficiency. However, challenges remained regarding budget constraints, employee adaptation, technology integration, and infrastructure readiness. This study concluded that practical digital logistics adoption could enhance SME operational performance while highlighting the need for more integrated and automated digital systems in the future.

Abstract

The development of social media, particularly Instagram, encourages companies to optimize visual content as a medium for digital information dissemination and promotion. PT Sumber Trijaya Lestari, through the Aksesmu platform, utilizes the Instagram account @aksesmu.id to deliver information regarding products, services, promotions, and educational content to micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) actors, particularly stall and grocery store owners. However, the visual presentation of the content currently used still requires optimization in several aspects, particularly layout composition, typographic hierarchy, color application, and visual consistency. This research aims to design Instagram Aksesmu content as an information and promotional medium by applying visual communication design principles that align with the brand identity and characteristics of the target audience. The research method used was qualitative, involving observations of the Instagram account @aksesmu.id, interviews with the Marketing Communication division of PT Sumber Trijaya Lestari, documentation, and literature studies. The design outcomes include Instagram feed designs and Reels cover designs that apply a simple, communicative, informative, and consistent visual approach. The application of design elements, including color schemes, layouts, typography, illustrations, and visual hierarchy, helps improve message delivery clarity and strengthens Instagram’s role as an information and promotional medium. Therefore, the design of Instagram Aksesmu content can serve as an alternative approach for developing digital visual communication that is more structured, accessible, and aligned with the company’s communication needs.

Abstract

This literature review aimed to summarize recent studies regarding the combined effects of unhealthy lifestyle behaviors and air pollution exposure on the development and progression of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). A literature search was conducted using the ScienceDirect and PubMed databases from December 2025 onward. Relevant studies examining the relationship between air pollution, lifestyle factors, and MASLD or hepatic injury were identified using Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) terms and free-text keywords related to MASLD, particulate matter (PM?.?), unhealthy lifestyle behaviors, inflammation, oxidative stress, and metabolic dysfunction. Eligible articles included original research and review articles published in English that investigated hepatic outcomes associated with lifestyle factors and/or particulate matter exposure. Evidence indicates that both particulate matter exposure and lifestyle-related factors, including unhealthy dietary patterns, sedentary behavior, smoking, alcohol consumption, and circadian rhythm disruption, independently contribute to liver injury through shared biological mechanisms. These mechanisms include inflammation, oxidative stress, insulin resistance, mitochondrial dysfunction, and gut dysbiosis. Exposure to PM?.? promotes reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation, activation of Kupffer cells (KCs), stimulation of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs), and the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Meanwhile, unhealthy lifestyle behaviors contribute to metabolic imbalance and impaired antioxidant defense mechanisms. Emerging evidence suggests that the coexistence of high air pollution exposure and unhealthy lifestyle patterns produces synergistic effects that accelerate hepatic steatosis, inflammation, fibrosis, and progression toward MASLD. The combined effects of prolonged particulate matter exposure and unhealthy lifestyle behaviors represent important and underrecognized contributors to MASLD progression. Understanding the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms of these combined exposures may support the development of more comprehensive prevention and intervention strategies.

Abstract

Pancreatic dysfunction, particularly involving ?-cell failure, is a central factor in the pathogenesis of metabolic disorders. Although intrinsic mechanisms of pancreatic damage have been extensively documented, the combined effects of behavioral and environmental stressors remain an important area of investigation. This literature review synthesized epidemiological and experimental evidence regarding the synergistic effects of lifestyle-related factors and ambient air pollution on pancreatic health. Unhealthy lifestyle behaviors, including obesity, high-fat dietary patterns, physical inactivity, cigarette smoking, and excessive alcohol consumption, contribute to metabolic impairment through glucolipotoxicity, redox imbalance, and systemic inflammation. These factors promote gut dysbiosis and disrupt key insulin signaling pathways. Concurrently, exposure to ambient air pollutants, particularly fine particulate matter (PM?.?), may exacerbate these pathological processes. Particulate matter exposure induces oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, thereby activating the unfolded protein response (UPR) and NLRP3 inflammasome pathways. The convergence of adverse lifestyle behaviors and chronic air pollution exposure produces synergistic effects that accelerate ?-cell apoptosis and disrupt metabolic homeostasis. Integrated preventive strategies addressing both behavioral modifications and environmental interventions are essential to reduce the increasing burden of type 2 diabetes mellitus in modern industrialized societies.

Abstract

Indonesia faces a critical paradox in the accounting profession: despite producing thousands of accounting graduates annually, the country has only one Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for every 186,000 citizens, which remains far below regional benchmarks. This study investigated the psychological mechanisms through which external career perceptions are transformed into genuine long-term career commitment among accounting students. Specifically, it examined the influence of financial reward perception and job market stability on the intention to choose accounting as a long-term career, with career motivation as a mediating variable. Grounded in Social Cognitive Career Theory and London’s Career Motivation Framework, this study proposed that external career perceptions do not directly translate into career commitment but must first be internalized through motivational states before generating sustained behavioral intentions. Data were collected from 150 undergraduate and graduate accounting students across three Indonesian universities. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed using SmartPLS 4. The results supported all seven hypotheses. Financial reward perception significantly predicted both career motivation and career intention. Job market stability emerged as the strongest predictor of career motivation and also significantly influenced career intention. Career motivation partially mediated the relationships between financial reward perception, job market stability, and career intention. These findings provide theoretical and practical implications for accounting education institutions and professional organizations seeking to address Indonesia’s shortage of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) talent.

Abstract

Diabetes is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by high blood glucose levels that can lead to severe complications affecting various organs. The increasing prevalence of diabetes requires an accurate and efficient diagnostic approach to support early detection and medical decision-making. The development of machine learning technology provides opportunities to assist disease diagnosis by analyzing patient health data and identifying patterns associated with diabetes conditions. This study aims to compare the accuracy performance of the Naive Bayes and CatBoost algorithms in diagnosing diabetes using the confusion matrix evaluation method. The research method consists of several stages, including data collection, data preprocessing, model selection, model training, and model evaluation. The dataset used was obtained from Kaggle, consisting of 768 records with nine attributes, including pregnancies, glucose level, blood pressure, skin thickness, insulin, body mass index, diabetes pedigree function, age, and outcome classification. The models were trained using 80% training data and 20% testing data. The evaluation results showed that the Naive Bayes algorithm achieved an accuracy of 79%, while the CatBoost algorithm obtained a higher accuracy of 81%. These findings indicate that CatBoost provides better classification performance compared to Naive Bayes for diabetes diagnosis in this dataset. Therefore, CatBoost can be considered a more effective machine learning approach to support diabetes prediction. Future research is recommended to utilize larger datasets, optimize model parameters, and explore other advanced algorithms to improve diagnostic accuracy.

Abstract

The increasing complexity of the modern work environment has made worker wellbeing a strategic issue for organizational sustainability. Changes in workplace systems, digital transformation, flexible working arrangements, and rising psychosocial risks have expanded the understanding of wellbeing beyond physical health into a multidimensional concept involving psychological, social, organizational, occupational, and technological aspects. This study aims to analyze the development of research on general wellbeing among workers, identify the main determinants influencing worker wellbeing, and map existing research gaps and future research directions. This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach using scientific articles indexed in the Scopus database. The literature selection process follows the PRISMA framework, resulting in 58 eligible international articles published between 2021 and 2026. The findings indicate that research on worker wellbeing has increased significantly, particularly in recent years, with major determinants categorized into six dimensions: individual psychological factors, organizational factors, social factors, job characteristics and demands, physical health and occupational safety, and technology-related factors. The synthesis also reveals that previous studies remain fragmented, focusing mainly on specific wellbeing dimensions and occupational groups rather than integrating wellbeing as a comprehensive construct. This study concludes that general wellbeing among workers is a multidimensional phenomenon requiring a holistic approach. The findings contribute theoretically by strengthening wellbeing frameworks and practically by supporting organizations in developing comprehensive worker wellbeing strategies.

Abstract

Historic vehicles represent an important category of movable cultural heritage because they contain historical values, technological development, and collective memories of societies. However, the preservation of military vehicles in Indonesia remains limited, particularly regarding their transformation from functional war equipment into cultural identity symbols. This study aims to reconstruct the transformation process of military jeep vehicles, particularly Willys MB and Ford GPW, from instruments of warfare during the Indonesian independence period into cultural heritage objects within the urban community of Bandung. This research employed a qualitative ethnoarchaeological approach by combining material culture analysis and community ethnography. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with historical jeep communities, artifact documentation, and analysis using cultural biography theory, collective memory theory, and the Burra Charter framework. The results reveal three transformation phases: (1) 1945–1960, when jeeps functioned as combat and guerrilla mobility instruments; (2) 1960–1990, when they shifted into civilian utility vehicles; and (3) 1990–present, when preservation communities transformed them into symbols of historical memory and urban identity. The discussion shows that preservation practices, public commemorative activities, and community narratives play significant roles in maintaining the cultural meaning of these vehicles. This study concludes that historic jeeps are not merely technological artifacts but dynamic heritage objects that contribute to collective memory, national identity, and community-based heritage preservation in Indonesia.

Abstract

Religious rituals are important cultural expressions that preserve collective identity, social solidarity, and spiritual values within a community. Amid globalization and modernization, local religious traditions face challenges in maintaining their continuity, particularly among younger generations. The procession of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the Mena Vicariate, Atambua Diocese, represents a unique interaction between Catholic spirituality and the cultural identity of the Atoni Pah Meto community. This study aims to analyze the procession of the Sacred Heart of Jesus as a cultural expression and its role in preserving the identity of the local church community in the Atambua Diocese. This research employed a qualitative approach with a socio-anthropological perspective. Data were collected through direct observation, documentation, statistical records from the Pastoral Center of the Atambua Diocese, and relevant literature studies related to religion, culture, and ritual practices. The findings reveal that the procession strengthens religious commitment and community identity through three main cultural dimensions: inclusiveness, symbolism, and intergenerational transmission. Statistical data indicate significant participation of the Mena Vicariate community, including 1,452 baptized members, 1,596 Eucharistic recipients, 269 marriage sacrament recipients, and 161 recipients of the Holy Oil sacrament in 2025. These findings demonstrate that the Sacred Heart of Jesus procession functions not only as a religious devotion but also as a cultural mechanism that preserves collective memory, strengthens social relationships, and maintains the identity of the Atambua Diocese. The study concludes that religious practices embedded within local culture play an essential role in sustaining faith, tradition, and community continuity amid social change.

Abstract

The polyester industry in Indonesia has experienced significant growth under a linear economic model based on virgin polyethylene terephthalate (vPET), which relies heavily on fossil-based resources and contributes to high energy consumption, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, water use, and waste generation. The transition toward recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) represents an important pathway for implementing circular economy principles and improving industrial sustainability. This study aims to compare the economic and environmental performance of vPET and rPET, evaluate future development trends, and identify strategic factors influencing the transition from a linear to a circular economy model in Indonesia’s polyester industry. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative comparative analysis, Simple Linear Regression (SLR) for projection analysis, and PESTEL analysis to assess external factors affecting rPET development. The results indicate that vPET maintains stronger economic performance in terms of production, revenue, and operating profit; however, rPET demonstrates superior environmental performance through substantially lower energy consumption, GHG emissions, and water usage. Projection results for 2025–2030 show that rPET has greater growth potential, supported by increasing sustainability demands, regulatory pressure, technological advancement, and ESG commitments. Nevertheless, challenges related to feedstock availability, recycling infrastructure, and investment requirements remain significant barriers. This study concludes that a gradual transition through a hybrid economic approach is the most feasible strategy, enabling Indonesia’s polyester industry to balance economic competitiveness with environmental sustainability while supporting circular economy implementation and net-zero emission targets.
