Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Wordwall media on the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students of Santo Ignatius Private Elementary School, Medan, in the 2025/2026 academic year. This study was motivated by the low student learning outcomes caused by the use of learning models that do not involve students' activeness and critical thinking skills in the learning process. This study used a pre-experimental method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample in this study amounted to 28 students. Data collection techniques used observation, learning outcome tests, questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through normality tests and hypothesis tests using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The results showed that the average pretest score was 72.5 and the average posttest score was 89.1, resulting in an increase of 16.6. The results of the normality test showed that the data were normally distributed. Furthermore, the results of the hypothesis test used the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The test results showed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. Thus, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, indicating that the Problem-Based Learning model assisted by Wordwall media has an effect on the science learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at Santo Ignatius Private Elementary School, Medan, in the 2025/2026 academic year.

Abstract

Anterior crossbite is one of the most common malocclusions encountered during the mixed dentition period and may negatively affect dental function, craniofacial development, and esthetics if left untreated. Early interceptive orthodontic intervention is therefore recommended to prevent the progression of more complex malocclusions. This case report aims to describe the management of anterior crossbite using a prefabricated elastomeric myofunctional appliance (Orthoplus EFT Slim) in a pediatric patient. The method involved clinical examination, radiographic evaluation, diagnosis of a Class I skeletal relationship with dentoalveolar anterior crossbite, and interceptive treatment using a removable elastomeric functional appliance. The patient was instructed to use the appliance daily in conjunction with myofunctional exercises to improve tongue posture, lip competence, and breathing patterns. Treatment progress was evaluated monthly over a three-month period. The results showed that correction of the anterior crossbite was achieved within the first month, as indicated by the transition from negative to positive overjet. Subsequent evaluations demonstrated stable occlusal relationships, improved anterior interdigitation, and enhanced orofacial muscle function, including improved nasal breathing and lip seal. No relapse or complications were observed throughout the treatment period. In conclusion, the use of a prefabricated elastomeric myofunctional appliance is effective for correcting anterior crossbite during the mixed dentition stage, providing both dental correction and functional improvement. Early intervention supports stable treatment outcomes and may help prevent the future development of more severe malocclusions; however, long-term follow-up is recommended to further validate these findings.

Abstract

The rapid growth of social media platforms has transformed digital marketing communication strategies, requiring brands to develop more authentic, interactive, and relatable approaches to engage audiences. TikTok, as a short-form video platform, provides opportunities for fashion brands to strengthen consumer relationships through creative content strategies. SCULPT, a shapewear brand, has shifted from relying on external content creators toward an Employee-Generated Content (EGC) strategy by positioning internal employees as brand communicators. This study aims to examine how SCULPT implements EGC as a marketing communication strategy on TikTok and to identify the reasons behind the adoption of this approach. This research employed a qualitative method using in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving key informants, including the owner, marketing manager, social media specialist, ads specialist, and content creators. The findings indicate that SCULPT’s EGC strategy represents an Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) practice through three main dimensions: message consistency, communication channel integration, and relationship building. The strategy maintains consistent brand messages related to comfort, product quality, confidence, and women empowerment while integrating TikTok, TikTok Shop, live streaming, campaigns, and paid advertising channels. Furthermore, employees act as brand representatives who create closer, more personal, and trustworthy interactions with audiences. In conclusion, EGC enables SCULPT to strengthen brand identity, improve audience engagement, and adapt marketing communication to the dynamic characteristics of digital media.

Abstract

Retinoblastoma (RB) is the most common malignant intraocular cancer in children and may lead to blindness or death if not detected early. Most existing detection methods utilize deep learning approaches, which require large datasets and high computational resources. Therefore, this study proposes a simple and efficient early detection method for retinoblastoma using HSV (Hue, Saturation, Value) color features and the K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) algorithm. The dataset consisted of 105 eye images, including 52 normal eye images and 53 retinoblastoma-positive images. The research stages included region-of-interest extraction in the pupil area, conversion of images from the RGB color space to HSV, feature extraction based on average saturation and average brightness values, and classification using KNN. Model evaluation was performed using the Leave-One-Out Cross-Validation (LOOCV) method with k-value variations ranging from 1 to 10. The test results showed that k = 1 achieved the best performance, with an accuracy of 83.81%, sensitivity of 83.02%, specificity of 84.62%, precision of 84.62%, and an F1-score of 83.81%. These results demonstrated that the combination of HSV color features and KNN classification was able to effectively distinguish between normal eye images and retinoblastoma cases. The proposed method has the potential to serve as a simple and low-cost screening tool for early retinoblastoma detection.

Abstract

The energy sector in Indonesia remains heavily dependent on coal, which contributes significantly to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Amid global efforts toward energy transition and climate change mitigation, extractive industries, including mining companies, are encouraged to improve operational efficiency, particularly in fuel utilization. This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of transforming the citronella oil bioadditive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program of PT Arutmin Indonesia Kintap Mine into an independent business unit managed by BUMDesa Berkah Mulia. Using an applied qualitative research approach, this study evaluates legal, market, technical, managerial, and financial aspects, as well as sustainability impacts through Social Return on Investment (SROI) analysis. The results indicate that the business unit has promising market potential through a captive market scheme, with estimated demand exceeding 5,000 liters/month. From a technical perspective, a sustainable production target of 88 liters/month was established to achieve the operational break-even point. Financial projections based on a five-year cash flow analysis (2026–2030) under a moderate scenario demonstrated a positive Net Present Value (NPV) of IDR 24,764,518 and an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 10.68%. The business unit was considered feasible as a social enterprise model, with a significant social impact indicated by an SROI ratio of 2.68:1, meaning that every IDR 1 invested generated a social impact value of IDR 2.68. This study recommends establishing a Limited Liability Company (PT) structure to mitigate operational risks and implementing a minimum raw material price strategy to protect farmers.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the optimal composition of cocoa pod–coconut shell briquettes based on quality parameters according to the Indonesian National Standard (SNI), combustion performance in a Natural Updraft Gasifier Stove–type biomass furnace, and technoeconomic aspects. The briquettes were produced in five compositional variations, namely KK100, KK75TK25, KK50TK50, KK25TK75, and TK100. The tests included moisture content, ash content, volatile matter, fixed carbon content, calorific value, energy density, ignition time, combustion rate, combustion duration, water boiling test, and energy cost analysis. The optimal composition was determined using the Multi-Criteria Scoring method, with weighting factors of 40% for SNI quality parameters, 40% for combustion performance, and 20% for technoeconomic aspects. The results showed that increasing the proportion of coconut shells reduced the moisture content from 14.67% to 4.53% and the ash content from 17.89% to 5.56%, while increasing the fixed carbon content from 45.05% to 71.14%. The highest calorific value was obtained for TK100 at 5,956 kcal/kg, while KK25TK75 produced a calorific value of 5,481 kcal/kg. In the combustion performance tests, TK100 exhibited the shortest ignition time (124 seconds), the longest combustion duration (191 minutes), and the shortest water boiling time (4 minutes). The technoeconomic analysis indicated that KK75TK25 had the lowest energy cost at 451.90 Rp/MJ and the highest energy-saving potential at 13.80%. The optimization results showed that TK100 achieved the highest overall score of 99.21. However, all briquette variations did not fully comply with SNI 01-6235-2000 because their volatile matter content exceeded the maximum allowable limit.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the regulation of absolute complaints for domestic violence crimes (KDRT) in the New Criminal Code and its implementation in the jurisdiction of the Pinrang Police. The research uses empirical juridical methods with a legislative approach, a case approach, and a sociological approach. Data was obtained through interviews with investigators of the Pinrang Police PPA Unit and Pinrang District Court Judges as well as case document studies. It was found that the placement of violence within the scope of marriage as an absolute complaint offense through Article 473 paragraph (6) of the New Criminal Code was followed by a decrease in the number of domestic violence reports, as well as giving rise to new obstacles in the form of pressure on victims to withdraw complaints before the case is completed. This study is one of the initial studies on the work of the provisions of the absolute complaint of domestic violence in the New Criminal Code in the South Sulawesi region.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an autonomous vehicle system based on swerve drive that is able to perform obstacle avoidance maneuvers in a precise, adaptive, and real-time manner. The system is designed by integrating three main components, a swerve drive mechanism to produce omni-directional movement, a fusion sensor (lidar, camera, and CMPS12 orientation sensor) to improve the accuracy of environmental perception, and a Predictive Control Model (MPC) as the main controller to set a stable and smooth motion trajectory. The prototype of the vehicle was designed using the Arduino Mega 2560 as the low-level controller and the ROS as the data processing center. The test was carried out in an indoor environment with basic movement scenarios, steering angle stability, object detection, and obstacle avoidance at various distances. The results showed that the swerve drive system was able to produce forward, lateral, rotation, and diagonal movements stably with an average steering angle error of 2–4 degrees. The fusion sensor shows consistent object detection performance, especially at a distance of ?80 cm. The initial implementation of the MPC successfully resulted in a smooth obstacle avoidance maneuver, although actuator response and parameter tuning still need to be optimized for near-range (<50 cm) obstacle scenarios. Thus, this study proves that the combination of swerve drive, sensor fusion and MPC is an effective approach to improve the navigation and safety capabilities of autonomous vehicles. The developed system can be the basis for further development towards autonomous vehicles that are more intelligent, responsive, and adaptive.
