Abstract

Sustainability is currently a concern for many parties, including banks. The Bank began to consider whether the proposed funding would be allocated for projects that do not conflict with natural sustainability. This is known as green finance. This study aims to determine whether the implementation of green finance affects the value or performance of the bank. The research sample is go-public banks in Indonesia for the period 2019 – 2021. This study found that 70.93% of banks implement green finance. This study found that the implementation of green finance has a positive effect on firm value when the proxy for firm value is Tobin Q. However, when the proxy for firm value is the Price Earnings Ratio, Earnings per share, and Stock Return, then the implementation of green finance has no effect on company value. This study also found that the effect of green finance on firm value was more evident in banks in the KBMI 4 group. Of the four models used in this study, three models found a significant positive effect, namely the TobinQ, Stock Return, and EPS models. only in the PER model did not show any effect.

Abstract

According to Article 77 paragraph (2) of Law Number 20 of 2016 concerning Trademarks and Geographical Indications (UU MIG), a trademark cancellation lawsuit must be filed within five years from the date of trademark registration. Recently, a notable case involving the Cheong Kwan Jang trademark saw conflicting decisions from the Central Jakarta Commercial Court and the Supreme Court. Initially, the Central Jakarta Commercial Court rejected the application for cancellation of the Cheong Kwan Jang trademark filed by Korean Ginseng Corp. The court's reasoning was based on the inability of Korean Ginseng Corp. However, the Supreme Court, in its Decision Number 345 K/Pdt.Sus-HKI/2021, took a different stance and granted the request for cancellation of the mark that had been registered by PT. Mitra Sentosa International for more than five years. The basis for this decision was that the registration of the mark was deemed to have been done in bad faith, as outlined in Article 20 paragraph (3) of the MIG Law. Therefore, according to Article 77 paragraph (2) of the MIG Law, the brand could be canceled indefinitely, even though the five-year limit had passed. This study employs normative legal research, analyzing secondary data such as the Commercial Court Decision Number 15/Pdt.Sus/Merek/2020/PN.Niaga.Jkt.Pst and Supreme Court Decision Number 345 K/Pdt.Sus-HKI/2021, alongside relevant laws and regulations. The aim is to understand the reasons for the Commercial Court's rejection and whether the Supreme Court's decision aligns with the provisions of Article 77 of Law No. 20 of 2016.

Abstract

The substantial waste production in the Bila watershed poses a severe threat to the area. This not only negatively affects the environment but also leads to sediment buildup in Lake Tempe. Managing the lake's health entails not solely addressing the lake itself, but also evaluating the impact within the encompassing river basin. This research examines the anticipated waste volume that could potentially contribute to sedimentation in Lake Tempe. The approach taken employs spatial analysis, utilizing a 20-meter buffer surrounding the water body. This buffer represents the zone within which the population is assumed to dispose of waste into the river. The accuracy of the findings was verified through interviews with residents residing within this 20-meter radius. The predominant source of the waste responsible for sedimentation is inorganic in nature, as it doesn't undergo natural decomposition. The study's projection suggests that by 2031, the cumulative volume of waste-triggered sedimentation will reach 1408.63 cubic meters. Addressing the burgeoning waste issue in the Bila watershed is paramount to preserving the integrity of Lake Tempe. By adopting a comprehensive perspective that encompasses both the lake and its surrounding river basin, effective strategies can be devised to mitigate sedimentation and ensure the longevity of this crucial ecosystem.

Abstract

The primary objective of this study was to investigate the interplay between profitability, size, age, and board diversity concerning the disclosure of sustainability reports within the basic material and energy sector of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). To achieve this, the research employed the purposive sampling technique. The study focused on 20 companies operating within the basic material and energy sector, analyzing data spanning from 2019 to 2021. In total, 60 datasets were meticulously processed using the widely recognized SPSS software. Upon analyzing the data, a noteworthy pattern emerged. Specifically, the study revealed a statistically significant positive relationship between profitability and the extent of sustainability report disclosure. Contrary to expectations, the research findings did not establish any substantial influence stemming from firm size, company age, or board diversity on the level of sustainability reporting. In essence, while profitability appears to serve as a driving force behind increased sustainability report transparency, other factors such as firm size, age, and board diversity do not exhibit a discernible impact in this particular context.

Abstract

Vapebos is a one-stop vape shop catering to vaping enthusiasts, offering a wide array of products essential for vapers or electronic cigarette users. Their inventory spans devices like Mods, Atomizers (RDA), a diverse range of flavored liquids, and various accessories. Presently, Vapebos employs a manual transaction system where each sale is noted in a physical ledger. However, this approach poses potential issues, such as the loss of transaction records or damage due to exposure to water. To tackle these challenges and ensure smoother operations, the store is transitioning to a modernized Point of Sale (POS) system. The chosen methodology for this transformation is the waterfall-based approach. By employing the waterfall model, the authors are developing a POS application that streamlines Vapebos' transaction processes. This system promises enhanced efficiency and accuracy, reducing the likelihood of data loss or errors that might occur with the manual method. This endeavor not only aims to simplify day-to-day transactions but also contributes to maintaining a secure and organized record-keeping system. The adoption of a POS system aligns with Vapebos' objective of providing seamless service to its customers and safeguarding its business operations against potential setbacks. Through this systematic upgrade, Vapebos is poised to offer a more reliable and efficient shopping experience for vape enthusiasts while ensuring the integrity of their transaction records.
