Abstract

Philosophy is a discipline that aims to seek truth by exploring answers to fundamental questions. In its endeavors, philosophy interacts with the evolving results of science, including schools such as Neo-Positivism. This research aims to analyze and understand the differences in research paradigms, especially in social science, with a focus on positivism, constructivism, and critical paradigms. In addition, this research also describes the positivism paradigm and its three basic assumptions: ontology, epistemology, and methodology. The method used is a literature study with a descriptive-qualitative approach. The results show that the Neo-Positivism paradigm has a significant influence in the development of science and human civilization. Positivism emphasizes that science is the only valid form of knowledge and only observable facts can be used as objects of study. Thus, positivism rejects the existence of forces beyond facts that can be tested empirically. The implication of this research lies in a deeper understanding of how research paradigms contribute to the formation of scientific theories as well as the application of science in people's lives.

Abstract

Violence experienced by adolescents has an impact on them both in terms of personality and the way they view life. This study aims to find out how the lives of adolescents who experience family violence become meaningful. The research method in the study used a qualitative approach with a phenomenological research type. Participants were selected using a purposive sampling system with data collection methods in the form of in-depth interviews with five participants. The results showed that adolescents who were victims of violence by their parents interpreted life in various ways. They lose trust in others and see life as a struggle for survival. They no longer identify their parents as parental figures. Teenagers see parents as threatening and insecure. Adolescent victims of violence fill their lives with sadness because they do not get affection, and they want freedom from their parents. This study concludes that adolescents who experience violence tend to try hard to survive the hard life they get. The findings of this study underscore the profound impact of family violence on adolescents' perceptions of their lives and interpersonal relationships. Understanding these experiences is critical to developing targeted interventions and support systems aimed at reducing the long-term effects of violence.

Abstract

The implementation of construction work, there are still many problems, namely schedule mismatches, delays, and cost calculations that are sometimes inaccurate because they still use conventional methods. In the Al-Multazam Islamic Boarding School Building Construction project, Kuningan still uses traditional methods, where this method has the potential for human error because in making calculations it can be wrong to enter data which will ultimately change the calculation results to be greater. This research aims to show that the BIM method is very important to be applied in construction projects to streamline work productivity in building construction projects. In this case, there are differences in the results of the calculation of Quantity Take Off on the project, the difference in the results of the analysis shows that there is a difference between the existing volume and the volume of the Quantity Take Off results using the BIM concept, Foot plate foundation work has an average difference of 6.67%, Tie Beam has a difference of 7.62%, Beams have a difference of 5.30%, Columns have a difference of 8.26%, and Floor Plates have an average difference of 2.51%.  This research has implications for the application of BIM to enable a more structured, efficient, and accurate planning and implementation process, thereby reducing the potential for errors caused by human factors. In addition, the use of BIM can also increase efficiency in overall project management, including in schedule monitoring, cost estimation, and resource management, which in turn can increase work productivity on building construction projects.
