Abstract

This study investigated enhancing professionalism through counselling in public universities in Edo and Delta States of Nigeria. The purpose of the study was to find out if professionalism predicts counsellor competencies of prospective counsellor in public Universities in Edo and Delta States. Two research questions were raised and one hypothesis was formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significance. Survey research design adopting the correlational approach was used in this study. The population of the study comprised all Masters Students in public universities in Edo and Delta States in the 2020/2021,2021/2022 and 2022/2023 sessions who had completed practicum counselling course. A sample of 89 prospective counsellors was used for the study. Reliability coefficients of 0.914, 0.630,0.818, 0.691, 0.607, were obtained for competence and skill, communication, teamwork, critical thinking, ethics respectively for the Counsellor Personality characteristics questionnaire subscale. 0.810, 0.896, 0.796 were obtained for knowledge, skills and behavioural sub-scales respectively for Counsellor Competency Questionnaire. Descriptive statistics and Regression analysis were used for analysis of data and testing of hypothesis respectively. The outcomes of the study revealed the following: The level of counselling competencies of prospective counsellors in public universities in Edo and Delta States is high; The five points professionalism do not significantly predict Counselling Competencies. It was recommended among other that professional counsellors should concentrate on the training programme of the prospective counsellors in order to inculcate in students the techniques and ethics of the profession since it has been proven that the five points professionalism do not predict counselling competencies.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how the da'wah strategy carried out by religious extension workers in increasing Islamic religious knowledge in the community as well as what are the supporting and inhibiting factors faced by religious extension workers and how religious extension workers can overcome supporting factors and inhibiting factors that can cause difficulties in achieving goals. The research method used is field research with a qualitative approach, where data is collected through interviews, observations and documentation involving religious extension workers in Janjimartahan Village directly. The results of the research that have been carried out are that in carrying out da'wah, especially in Muslim minority areas, the right da'wah strategy is needed. The da'wah strategy carried out by religious extension workers in the implementation of da'wah in Janjimartahan Village is with an education strategy and a taklim assembly. Then the inhibiting factor in da'wah in Janjimartahan village is that the majority of the community has a middle to lower economy so that people prioritize work. The solution carried out by religious extension workers is that religious extension workers come to the homes of the Muslim community one by one to be taught religious knowledge and recite.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the content of da'wah messages in voicing the defense of Palestine which includes aqidah, sharia and ahlak contained in Ustadz Felix Siauw's da'wah material in his YouTube account with the title "The War Is Not Only In Gaza, But Also In Our Heads". This research uses Critical Media theory where social media can be used as a forum for sharing knowledge to free humans, especially the small and poor people from the oppressive system structure such as the people in Palestine. This research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach that describes a message or text in detail until the results are found in the form of words not numbers. Primary data in the study were obtained from the transcripts of Ustad Felix Siauw's lectures and secondary data were taken from related journals and articles. Data collection techniques using observation and documentation, with Hermeneutic analysis techniques convey and translate God's messages into a more understandable language. The results obtained are seven points of da'wah messages in the Aqidah category, five points of da'wah messages in the Sharia category and seven points of da'wah messages in the Akhlak category.

Abstract

This paper discusses the transdisciplinary approach and its importance to be discussed and applied in the world of higher education research to understand and address the complexity of socio-cultural problems. Gillez Deleuze and Felix Guattari through a famous book, A Thousand Plateaus proposed two terms "arborescent" and "rhizome" as a metaphor for two paradigms and scientific approach in teaching and research. The concept “aborrescent” in many respects considered inadequate applied in the scientific world that tends to see reality is atomistic, but complex and mutually overlap (networking). Giles Deleuze and Felix Guattari proposed the concept of the rhizome as a metaphor for the paradigm and post-disciplinary scientific approach. UNESCO, CIRET and many scientific institutions and university in developed countries have done symposium, seminars and carry out research with a trans-disciplinary approach. The development of science-technology and complex and fast-changing cultural reality, requires colleges to understand and apply the trans-disciplinary approach.

Abstract

This research evaluates the implementation of the Independent Community-Based Curriculum in Tidore Islands City madrasah, with a focus on the quality and suitability of the Madrasah Operational Curriculum (KOM) documents and the Mapping of Strengthening Character Education and Religious Risk Assessment (P5 P2RA). Through a qualitative approach with case study methods, this research involved four state madrasas as the main locations: MAN 1, MAN 2, MTsN 2, and MTsN 3. The results of the research showed that the level of suitability and quality of documents varied, with MAN 1 and MAN 2 having documents that superior to MTsN 2 and MTsN 3. The curriculum at these madrasah successfully integrates local cultural values, character education, and 21st century skills such as critical thinking and collaboration. However, the main challenges include a lack of supporting facilities and the need to increase teacher competency. Research recommendations include teacher training, strengthening facilities, and collaborating with the community. This research emphasizes the importance of curriculum relevance to local contexts to create more inclusive and contextual education.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) explore teachers' strategies in fostering students' intrinsic motivation in Social Studies (IPS) learning in elementary schools in Makassar City, and (2) identify the obstacles faced by teachers in increasing students' intrinsic motivation. The approach used in this study was qualitative, with a descriptive research design. Data were obtained through classroom observations, interviews with teachers and students, and learning documentation. The results showed that the strategies applied by teachers to foster students' intrinsic motivation included contextual learning, problem-based learning (PBL), providing positive feedback, and using technology. However, the teachers faced several obstacles, including limited time, inadequate facilities, and insufficient professional training. This study suggests improving access to technology, providing further training for teachers, and allocating sufficient time to the curriculum to support the implementation of strategies that can increase students' intrinsic motivation.

Abstract

International Animated cartoons have long been an integral part of childhood entertainment across the world. Globally, some popular cartoons such as Tom and Jerry, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Popeye the Sailor, and Looney Tunes implicitly contribute to children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development. This study examines the international animated cartoons can nurture value, social skills, and emotional competencies among school children. For social learning, cognitive development, and narrative pedagogy, this study highlights the educational and developmental tool beyond entertainment. The purpose of the animated cartoons is to integrate value-based education. This study examines how storytelling, humour, conflict resolution, and character-driven narrative foster empathy, cooperation, and ethical reasoning in children. The positive character traits and prosocial behaviour depicted in cartoons can enhance children’s ability to navigate social interactions and emotional challenges. The integration of value-based education through animated cartoons focuses on formal education and supports holistic child development. The study advocates for a more conscious and purposeful use of animated cartoons in educational settings, aiming to harness their potential in promoting values, moral development, and social-emotional learning among school children in an engaging and accessible manner.

Abstract

This study investigates the dynamics of policy implementation and regulatory challenges in managing civil service resources within the evolving framework of digital governance. The research aims to interpret how digital transformation reshapes administrative structures, human resource management, and regulatory coherence in the public sector. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach based on a systematic literature review, the study synthesizes empirical and conceptual evidence from recent academic and institutional publications between 2013 and 2025. Data were analyzed thematically through interpretive synthesis to identify recurring patterns of policy adaptation, institutional capacity, and regulatory reform across different governance contexts. The findings reveal that digital governance transforms policy implementation from a linear bureaucratic process into an adaptive, data-driven, and network-based system that demands interagency coordination and technological proficiency. Regulatory challenges emerge from outdated legal frameworks, fragmented institutional mandates, and limited digital literacy among civil servants, leading to uneven implementation outcomes. The study highlights that effective civil service resource management requires integrating digital competency frameworks, ethical data governance, and agile leadership within coherent regulatory systems. Theoretically, this research contributes to modernizing implementation theory by embedding digital institutionalism and adaptive capacity concepts, while managerially, it offers a model for aligning human resource policies with sustainable digital transformation. The results affirm that sustainable digital governance depends on the continuous interaction between policy innovation, regulatory adaptability, and institutional learning.
