Abstract

Purpose – The purpose of this research is to understand the role of Public Relations Management in activities Hospital Social Responsibility (HSR) to improve image of Sunan Kudus Islamic Hospital. This study is also designed to understand the ability of Hospital Social Responsibility (HSR) in bringing benefits to the hospital Islam Sunan Kudus.Method – Primary data were obtained directly from observations and interviews with the Sunan Kudus Islamic Hospital, in this case the Public Relations Management and the community involved in HSR activities. The data analysis technique used several analyzes, namely descriptive, sociological, hostoris, and data validity.Result – The role of Public Relations in HSR activities can improve image of the Sunan Kudus Islamic Hospital, this is proven with the HSR activities carried out by RSI Sunan Kudus followed by all levels of society in the city Kudus so that through the HSR activity the name RSI Sunan Kudus is known to the wider community and ultimately society who is in the Kudus city to entrust his health to Sunan Kudus Islamic Hospital.Implication – This study can motivate other hospitals to implement HSR (Hospital Social Responsibility), so that a mutual symbiotic relationship can be created between the hospital and the community.Originality – In other studies only discussing CSR in general, there are no findings regarding HSR, and there is no CSR or HSR aspect in it Islamic perspective, apart from that there are no other benefits seen due to the existence of CSR in the hospital

Abstract

Purpose – This study analyses the various factors that affect the probability of consumers choosing public housing credit (PHC) of Sharia Property Developer (SPD) in Central Java.Method – The data of this study are primary data obtained through questionnaires to 252 people from a population of 1,269 PHC SPD consumers in Central Java (Boyolali Regency, Magelang Regency, Pati Regency, Semarang City, and Wonosobo Regency). Furthermore, consumer data were analysed using a binary logit regression model with SPSS software.Result – The results of this study state that the variable price and religiosity have a significant negative effect on the probability of choosing a PHC in Islamic Property Developer. In comparison, the variables of income, location, and facilities do not significantly affect the likelihood of selecting a PHC on a Sharia Property Developer. Wonosobo Regency is the region with the most significant probability of choosing a PHC on a Sharia Property Developer compared to Boyolali, Pati, Magelang, and Semarang City Regencies. Meanwhile, Pati Regency is the region with the least probability of choosing a PHC as a Sharia Property Developer. Implication – The Central Java SPD can use the finding of this research to consider the evaluation and improvement of PHC products in the future. So that consumers do not turn to competitors, have more confidence, and are satisfied with Sharia Property Developer services.Originality – The originality of this research lies in the object under study, test analysis, and research location.

Abstract

Purpose – Author studied the implementation of good corporate governance in a context of microfinance institution. Corporate Governance is a very strategic determining factor for the progress of a company in order to continuously increase value and maintain an ongoing and sustainable growth process.Method – Sources of data used in this study were taken from primary data and secondary data. Apart from interviews, other primary data source categories include reviewing, reading several global financial reports and standard operating procedure (SOP). Secondary data were obtained from books as a complement to primary data sources. Additional secondary data source of this research was obtained by conducting literature reviews.Result – Modern pondok of Tazakka uses at least six different waqf program as a financial source of their activities. These programmes are asset waqf, cash waqf, productive waqf, benefits waqf, profession waqf, and transfer of rights waqf. The programmes help the pondok to be more autonomous and able to provide various benefits for the scholars of the pondok and the people surround it. Implication – The results show that the Baitut Tamwil Muhammadiyah (BTM) implemented a good corporate governance.Originality – This study has enriched an empirical study of corporate governance in microfinance institution in Indonesia.

Abstract

Purpose – The purpose of this study is to analyze differences in financial performance before and after the tax amnesty was applied until the third period.Method – This research uses a comparative method with a quantitative approach. The data collection technique used the documentation method. The research data were in the form of annual reports and financial reports of issuers of the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The results showed the financial performance before and after the tax amnesty up to the third period in the property and real estate sub-sector companies.Result – The result shows a significant difference between before and after the tax amnesty until the third period. However, there is no significant difference between Debt to Equity Ratio and Return on Equity before and after the tax amnesty until the third period. The analysis results up to the third period regarding company value shows that there are differences in company value before and after the tax amnesty up to the third period.Implication – The study offers alternative perspective about tax amnesty. Most of the time companies are reluctant to engage with tax payment.By applying tax amnesty, both ruling government and companies are both be benefited. Originality – This study is among few studies about the impact of tax amnesty on financial performance in Indonesia.

Abstract

Purpose – The presence of Grab has invited many discussions. The purpose of this study is to know the role of Grab on changes in social life in Bengkulu city both in terms of Grab drivers, consumers, and other conventional transportation.Method – This study uses a qualitative approach with an in-depth interview method. The total respondents in this study are 38 people consisting of 5 people from Grab drivers, 30 people from consumers, and five people from conventional transportation.Result – This study found that there were changes in Grab drivers' income, but there were no social changes in Grab drivers. On the other hand, there were social changes in Grab consumers and conventional drivers. Implication – This study can be used by public, government, and private sector to understand better consumer behaviour in online transportation field.Originality – As the growth of online transportation in Indonesia is increasing, this study offers early understanding upon the phenomena.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to measure the effect of service quality on customer loyalty at the Hananiah Tanah Abang store.Method – The sample of this research is 47 respondents at Hananiah shop. Statistical tests were performed using PLS-based Structural Equation Modelling. The validity test uses the loading factor value, while the reliability test uses Cronbach's alpha value, composite reliability and Average Variance Extracted (AVE).Result – (1.) The effect of service quality on employees at the Hananiah Tanah Abang store has a significant effect on customer satisfaction. (2.) The effect of customer satisfaction has a significant effect on customer loyalty. (3.) Customer satisfaction mediates the effect of service quality at Hananiah stores on customer loyalty.Implication – This study can assist businesses to improve their service quality.Originality – This is the first study examining the influence of service quality on customer loyalty with customer satisfaction as a mediation variable.

Abstract

Purpose – This article explores Islamic economic thought according to Ibn Khaldun, Al-Maqrizi, and Al-Syatibi. One of Ibn Khaldun's thoughts that is very prominent and very important to discuss is economics.Method – The research used qualitative methods by analyzing the direction of thought and the construction of the Islamic economic system from Ibn Khaldun, Al-Maqrizi, and AL-Syatibi using the maqashid sharia concept.Result – The importance of discussing Ibn Khaldun's thoughts on economics is because his thoughts have great significance for developing Islamic economics in the future.Implication – The concept of maqashid sharia put forward by Asy-Syatibi should be a reference in every analysis process related to economic behavior. The system and science currently being formulated can be a solution to the increasingly acute economic complex.Originality – This study compares the Islamic economic thoughts of three prominent figures, i.e., Ibn Khaldun, Al-Maqrizi, and Al-Syatibi.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to determine muzakki's behavior which is reviewed based on the theory of planned behavior, including attitudes towards behavior, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control.Method – This research used a qualitative research method, while the analytical approach used phenomenological analysis. This study utilized observation and interviews for collecting data. Informants were given a great space to tell their own experiences freely. The number of samples in the study was six informants, i.e., two people who work as civil servants, two people as entrepreneurs, and two people as farmers.Result – Based on the phenomenon and its meaning regarding the behavior of muzakki in paying zakat, it can be concluded that 1) The attitude of the informants tends to comply with the obligation to issue zakat as a form of religious, social, economic, and psychological obedience 2) Informants have subjective beliefs regarding the behavior of paying zakat which is formed from normative beliefs, namely references that come from external and internal parties. 3) Perceptions of behavioral control of the informants. Implication – This study can assist people and organizations in understanding the behavioral aspect of muzakki.Originality – The originality of this research lies in the object under study, test analysis, and research location.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to determine the effect of financial literacy and financial efficacy on financial management.Method – Using mixed methods, namely quantitative and qualitative, this study managed to collect a sample of 307 respondents.Result – This research provides evidence that the level of a person's financial knowledge can affect his financial management as well as his financial satisfaction, with these results directly this research strengthens the evidence that gender does not affect financial management. it's the habits or behaviors that lead someone to act.Implication – This research can be used to understand behavioral financial management in individual level.Originality – Many studies show that a society with good financial literacy will have an impact on the formation of a financially independent society. However, the problem here is that there is still discrimination against women regarding financial management. Basically, whether or not they are able to manage finances is not based on gender but on the behavior of the individual. To strengthen this, research is present to prove that individual behavior which includes the level of financial knowledge and financial satisfaction affects their financial management.

Abstract

Purpose – The aim of this research is to find out the financing mechanism or the waqf assets funding done by nazhir and to find the ideal mechanism for the development of waqf assets.Method – This is a qualitative research with a case study approach. The research object was selected using purposive sampling, namely nazhir waqf in Central Java which manages productive waqf including: Sultan Agung Waqf Foundation (YBWSA), Semarang Grand Mosque Management Agency (BPMAS), and Pekalongan City Muslimin Foundation (YMKP).Result – This study found that the Sultan Agung Waqf Foundation (YBWSA) implements a mechanism for waqf financing in the form of public funding, government assistance, murabahah, and ijarah. BPMAS implements a waqf financing mechanism in the form of donations & alms, government assistance, ijarah, and cash waqf. Meanwhile, YMKP provides financing for the development of its waqf assets in the form of government assistance and qardul hasan. Implication – This study can be used by government, policy maker, business party, or scholar to create an optimal and ideal mechanism in developing waqf assets.Originality – In the past, studies of waqf asset management were performed in the context of middle east, mostly Kuwait. This study provides waqf asset management in context of South East region.
