Abstract

This study aims to investigate the research dynamics related to the Application of Knowledge Sharing in the Public Sector. The study was conducted in December 2023 by searching the Scopus database with the keywords "knowledge sharing" and "public sector". The search results were analyzed and processed using the VOSViewer application program to identify the bibliometric map of the development of research in the field of knowledge sharing in the public sector. The results show that the number of research publications in the field of knowledge sharing in the public sector on Scopus from 2019 to 2023 has experienced a significant increase and has been most published in the VINE Journal of Information and Knowledge Management Systems. Knowledge Sharing research in the Indonesian public sector is considered less popular. The most productive researcher in publishing research results is Sreejith Balasubramanian, affiliated with Middlesex University Dubai. Through network visualization, it shows that the research development map regarding knowledge sharing in the public sector is divided into 6 clusters. Cluster 1 consists of 15 topics, cluster 2 consists of 14 topics, cluster 3 consists of 12 topics, cluster 4 consists of 12 topics, cluster 5 consists of 10 topics, and cluster 6 consists of 5 topics. Research related to this topic in Indonesia is still focused on business, management, and accounting subjects in several institutions, with collaboration between researchers that needs to be improved.

This research aims to see how cooperation and impact of organizational structure in the cooperation carried out by IKOPIN Library and Al-Mas'oem University in meeting the information needs of users. This research has been conducted using a qualitative approach through a case study research instrument through observation, interviews, and literature studies. The process is carried out with the existence of MoA, MoU and discussions related to the collaboration. The impact of the cooperation between IKOPIN Library and Al-Mas'oem University can be seen in the improvement of quality and services that mainly affect users and librarians through cross borrowing services, librarian comparative studies, information exchange and joint collection procurement. Abstract

The study's objective is to map the distribution of key publications on this topic, identify leading journals in this domain, analyze the most cited sources, examine trends based on keyword and treemap analyses, and explore keyword network maps and country-based network maps. The bibliometric analysis utilized data extracted from Scopus, employing the search syntax TITLE-ABS-KEY ( “information literacy” AND (“fake news” OR “misinformation” OR “disinformation”) AND (“social media”) ) AND ( LIMIT-TO ( DOCTYPE , “ar” ) OR LIMIT-TO ( DOCTYPE , “cp” ) ) AND ( LIMIT-TO ( LANGUAGE , “English” ) ). The collected documents were analyzed using R-biblioshiny. From the period of 2015 to 2023, we identified 103 documents focusing on information literacy's role in identifying and countering fake news on social media. These documents were published across 79 distinct sources, with an average citation rate of 24.33 per document. Predominant keywords within the research field include information literacy, fake news, social media, digital literacy, misinformation, media education, and critical thinking. This study highlights the evolving dialogue on information literacy and its crucial role in navigating the challenges posed by fake news on social media, offering insights into future research directions and policy development.

Abstract

This research aims to carry out bibliographic analysis based on scientific subject, creator, year of publication and author as well as filtering relevant works from the collections held by the National Library of Indonesia related to the Palestine-Israel conflict.  The keywords used are "Aqsa, Gaza, Israel, Jews, Jews, Palestine, Palestine, West Bank, Jews, West Bank, Zionist, Zionist". The total data obtained and processed was 1638 from the National Library of Indonesia's Integrated Library System (INLIS). The method used is the bibliographic analysis where the processed data is then displayed in the form of tables and diagrams and explained with narratives that have been linked based on theory. The results of research found that the subject whose use was quite high 13 times was Zionism. The subject of Zionism is more influential than the subject of Israel in the theme of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The National Library of Indonesia collects many United Nations (UN) publications on this theme. Apart from that, the oldest book collection owned by National Library of Indonesia regarding the Palestinian-Israeli conflict comes from 1848 and the newest is from 2024. The conclusion obtained shows that National Library of Indonesia does not have ideological interests, this is proven by the balanced subject between Palestine and Israel. However, the National Library of Indonesia has a constitutional interest in procuring this collection, as can be seen from the many publications from the UN related to this issue.

Abstract

The emergence of generative AI technology which has provided new experiences for technology practitioners in searching for information to obtain professional information needs and complete their tasks, needs to be studied further as an effort to anticipate various impacts and potentials that may occur. Therefore, research is needed that identifies the use of generative AI technology in the information behavior patterns of technology practitioners at the start-up company PT XYZ. This research used qualitative with phenomenological approach. Based on the experiences of the three informants when using generative AI to search for information, the informants had different needs, but the informants had positive experiences in using generative AI to search for information, so that it could be an alternative solution to the needs and problems they experienced. Informants have varied experiences in searching for information, and in some contexts there are even experiences of using similar strategies. Several strategies from the informants' search experiences consisted of using simple prompts, using prompts that were supported by additional context, and using prompts that contained scenarios and narratives. The information seeking behavior pattern of technology practitioners who uses generative AI in PT XYZ were identified as very varied based on their task and job functions, both in terms of needs and the search strategies they used.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the interpersonal communication skills of librarians in the self- circulation services at the Andalas University Library. The background of this research is the ineffective interpersonal communication by librarians, which causes difficulties for users in finding the information they need. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and documentation. The study informants consisted of three librarians and two users selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and verification stages. The results showed that the aspects of openness and empathy among librarians were not effectively applied, while the aspects of supportiveness, positiveness, and equality were well implemented. The lack of openness led to difficulties for users in obtaining the necessary information, while the lack of empathy made users feel neglected. On the other hand, good supportiveness, positiveness, and equality increased the comfort and trust of users. This study suggests the need for training for librarians to improve openness and empathy, as well as regular evaluations of librarians' interpersonal communication skills to ensure optimal service quality. This research is essential for enhancing library service quality and user satisfaction especially in self-circulation service.

Abstract

In 2023, the National Library of Indonesia, through its Library Analysis and Reading Culture Development Centre, organised several literacy talk shows. Each event was documented in minutes (.doc or .pdf format) recording the speakers' material, questions, and answers. As events increased, so did the volume of minutes. This research aimed to identify frequently discussed topics using Text Mining with a Topic Modelling approach. Latent Dirichlet Allocation was applied and evaluated by perplexity values (a measure of model quality). Results showed the optimal number of topics to represent the dataset was three, with the lowest perplexity value of 470.922 at the 30th iteration. The three main topics identified were reading interest and the need for books in schools and regions, libraries’ role in improving children’s literacy, and librarians' role in inclusive literacy programmes for both young and old, including health literacy. Frequent words were literacy, library, reading, books, and children.
