Abstract

The examination of the Community Literacy Development Index (IPLM) juxtaposed with the Community Literacy Index (ILM) was undertaken as a foundational reference for the establishment of developmental policies and performance metrics. This research was driven by dual objectives: firstly, to ascertain the magnitude of the IPLM within the confines of Salatiga City, and secondly, to gauge the ILM within the same region. The analysis concerning the IPLM was executed to assess the state of libraries across Salatiga, encompassing facets such as spatial distribution of libraries, their respective collections, the competencies of library staff, and their patron demographics. The ILM investigation specifically narrowed its focus to the sub-district echelon, eliciting responses from 400 participants aged between 15 and 64 years. Emerging from the IPLM investigation, it was discerned that out of the 164 libraries included in the census, the composition was as follows: 20 public libraries, 129 school-affiliated libraries, 4 university libraries, and a further 10 specialized libraries. To further categorize by district, Argomulyo accounted for 32 libraries, Tingkir had 37, Sidomukti held 41, and Sidorejo hosted 53. Cumulatively, Salatiga City’s IPLM was determined to be 72.83, placing it within the moderate range (aligning with standard benchmarks). In parallel, the ILM analysis unveiled an overall score of 63.14 for Salatiga City, classifying it within the median spectrum. Within this, Argomulyo District took the lead with an ILM score of 66.30, while Tingkir District lagged with a score of 54.66.

Abstract

Animals that have the potential to produce meat that can be developed are Bali cattle. Unlike imported cattle, Bali cattle are superior because they can withstand all weather and adapt easily. Research on Bali cattle is quite a lot. However, we do not yet know the direction and status of the research. For this reason, it is necessary to conduct a study of the research that has been carried out. The research data comes from secondary data, namely scientific journal articles and proceedings articles. Data publication year is limited to June 2023. Data is tracked using Publish or Perish software. The data obtained was processed using Zotero, MS-Excel and VOSviewer software. There were 983 studies found, with the highest number of animal feed and nutrition, with 190 studies (19.31%). The most productive researcher is Jakaria (49 titles). The number of Bali cattle studies each year varies greatly with the highest number occurring in 2020 (169 studies). It is known that the authorship pattern of the Bali cattle research results article is in accordance with Lotka's law with an exponent value of 2.1 and a constant value of 66%. The researcher collaboration map and research topic map were successfully created using VOSviewer. The degree of author collaboration was 0.91. Related research including animal waste, animal welfare, animal farm and conservation can still be developed because there are not many researches in these fields.

Abstract

The presence of libraries is a familiar and common phenomenon in society, categorized into four types: public, special, school, and university libraries. However, in Indonesia, libraries face challenges, including financial resources, human resource issues, bureaucratic hurdles, physical resource problems, and information resource issues. These challenges have resulted in many libraries not meeting standards, despite guidelines set by the National Library of Indonesia. Libraries, integral to their management processes, often overlook a crucial function—control. This article delves into control as a key management function, addressing the problems encountered by Indonesian libraries. The focus is on control's role in overcoming issues, employing literature study methods and data analysis through observational literature techniques. The results indicate that all four types of libraries need to implement various techniques and analyses, including cost-benefit and return on investment analysis, benchmarking, leadership support, effective collaboration with librarians and technical staff, based on up-to-date information and corrective actions. Additionally, investments in infrastructure, facilities, information technology, digital resources, and information literacy training are essential.

Abstract

The development of archival research in Indonesia can be determined by carrying out bibliometric analysis. The analysis aims to determine the distribution of main information on archival research in Indonesia, journals relevant to archival publications, most cited sources, topic trends based on keywords and treemaps, keyword network maps, and network maps by country. Bibliometric analysis was carried out by using data from Scopus and the keywords (TITLE-ABS-KEY ( archival )  OR  TITLE-ABS-KEY ( archives )  OR  TITLE-ABS-KEY (archive)  AND TITLE-ABS-KEY (Indonesia). Documents obtained were analyzed using R-biblioshiny and VosViewer software. The results of the analysis show that during the years of 1986 to 2023, 462 documents resulting from research on archives in Indonesia were found and published in 351 different sources with an average of 12.31 citations per document. The journal that publishes the most research on archives in Indonesia is the IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science. Keywords in the field of archives most often used are archives, cultural heritage, Jakarta, conservation, archive, Asia, Bali, breast cancer, colonialism, and decolonization. Trends in topics that are often studied are decolonization, infrastructure, landsat, South Asia, reconstruction, Aceh, colonial, community participation, curriculum, decolonization, fisheries, heritage, deep learning, materiality, tsunami, digital archives, digitalization, and Dutch colonial. Co-occurrence network analysis using VOSviewer produced 4 clusters with 100 keywords with the most archival themes, namely Aceh, anti colonialism, commercialization, decolonization, East Java, fisheries, imperialism, Indian Ocean, and national archives.

Abstract

This research discusses research trends on the topic of oral history and documentation in Indonesia. The focus of the discussion is (1) how much relevant research is related to the topic of discussion of oral history and documentation; (2) what are the research trends in oral history and documentation; and (3) what are the implications for research on similar topics in the future and the implications for research in Indonesia. This research uses a bibliometric analysis method by taking data from the SCOPUS database with search filters related to the topic of oral history and documentation for the last ten years, or 2013–2023. Then it was analyzed further using VOSviewer to see the network and density of research on similar topics. The results show that the highest number of publications related to the topic of oral history and documentation is in 2022, with 21 publications; the country with the most contribution is the United States with 46 publications; the field of social sciences is the subject with the largest contribution of 37.9%; and the most common documents were articles at 58.3%. Seeing from the network and density analysis that the topic of oral history and documentation is related to other keywords and has the opportunity to be further researched is also an interesting discussion.

Abstract

In the evolving landscape of modern libraries, where the demand for service innovation and the imperative for standardized services intersect with existing gaps in their fulfilment. This research examines the development of research on library quality standardization in Indonesia from 2018 to 2023, utilizing the Scopus international scholarly publication database. Three main questions were explored: (1) The quantity of international scholarly publications on library quality standardization in Indonesia during this period; (2) The involvement of core journals in international publications on library quality standardization in Indonesia; (3) The landscape of international research publications on library quality standardization in Indonesia based on keywords. Research data were collected through Scopus searches using customized keywords and filters, and analysis was conducted using Scopus Analyze Search, VOSviewer, and CitNetExplorer. Findings indicate that the peak development of the library quality standardization topic in Indonesia was in 2022 with 16 articles, and the "Library Philosophy and Practice" journal emerged as a core publisher with 11 articles. Mapping results reveal a lack of interconnectedness between articles, indicating less variability and continuity in discussions. Recommendations for further research include adding data from multiple databases for comparison, enhancing keywords, and refining query terms for richer and more comprehensive results.
